    It's a good idea...I've been painting since 1982 and just got used to pushing a Hamilton scuttle up against a wall when doing ceilings and walls, but if you leave it set in one place, it involves a lot of walking back and forth at the end of the day..and just used to kicking the scuttle around the room when knocking out the walls....So deffo think this is worth a go, and you can always just revert it back to a normal scuttle if you're not keen on the casters..nothing ventured and all that and I wasn't aware of this scuttle so thanks for the info.
    Keep up the good work CM, and great vid as usual!..👍

    I’ve had a Purdy bucket for 3 years. I didn’t know they had the caster wheel slots for them. I was going to build a rig to hold the bucket, but lazy. I believe I’ve seen guys use a moving dolly for Wooster buckets. Thank you for sharing.

    Do you wash it out every time or just leave the bit left to dry out? Just curious as your old one looks caked in old paint. I always use a liner with my 15L scuttle but don't think you can get liners big enough for this purdy unless you buy their rigid ones at £14 for 3! Think I'm going to go for the Wooster wideboy and use their liners, but I think the purdy is better although a bit big for an 12' roller, wish they did a smaller one with cheap liners.

    2 peaces of wood glued together and put on one of the corners should solve the problem with the corner roller.
    Very comfortable bucket! Wish to have one.

    Mark could make a small corner peice of plastic or timber with a two gall handle so it can clup inside this purdy so you can use the corner roller adapt a big tupper ware tub or something.

    Nice video mate , just as you said pity about the corners , you'd they'd make it like the normal scuttles but no doubt purdy have a reason for this design, maybe a rep of theirs will be in touch with you especially after doing a video on it 👍 .... cant beat a bit of free advertising 👌 , there sales of these will be boosted now 🙌

    Bit of a ball ache carrying me stairs when full
    I always feel of balance
    And never seam to dry out properly or go hard
    Constantly softening when you load up your roller and end up with shit/skin on your finished area
    Bigger isn’t always better but I’ll stick with it

    I use the narrow plastic roller tray thing that came with the hyde corner roller and put it in a smaller scuttle , i stuck two bits of wood on each side of it to make it more sturdy . I have that purdy scuttle but didn't realise you could put wheels on it . Nice one.👍
    I prefer the large Wooster ones though as i have lids for them so can keep paint in them for days.

    • @BlossomPainting
      @BlossomPainting Год назад

      The Purdy comes with a lid, but maybe a recent addition ? But they do have it … I carry a spray bottle of water and mist a couple mm on the top of my (water base) paint to create an air barrier then close lid. A-little more misting for a weekend absence. I also use the Purdy as a tool box… start day I just dump it (tape,caulk, dust brushes, blades / mud) in my corner. Drop sheet sits on lid and I carry 1 handed. Tomorrow I’ll bring in the rest for paint day/z.

    Plastic scuttles waste of time and money save up and get a metal one,the trouble with the plastic ones are mainly you get into the habit off kicking them which tends to break of a dried paint hence bits everywhere.

    Waste of time. 25 years new work, the Purdy scuttle peels when semi dry too

    • @adambarnes2136
      @adambarnes2136 2 года назад +1

      That's called putting wet paint over dry paint and it re softens it. Nothing to do with it being a purdy scuttle they all do it. It's the nature of paint. If your not using a clean scuttle or liner/bin bag everyone you roll then you'll get bits rolled onto the wall. It's inevitable. I buy 20 bin liners fro Co Op for 2 quid and they fit perfect. Don't even have to tape at the edges they stretch over the edge of the large scuttle perfect. Then when done pull the edges off around the scuttle pick the bin liner up out of the scuttle and slice a hole in the bottom of the bag with a blade above the paint tin and it will all funnel back into the tin without wastage. Almost like piping a cake haha. No mess no wastage no dry bits in paint and saves time
