    I have caddy 2K 05 and after cluster swap I had flashing abs and asr. Also handbrake light. I read all sorts about it but nothing worked!! It would even pair with ecu!!! I was pulling my hair out!! Even though I thought it was coded correct I found out it wasn’t! I put the old cluster back in and realised the ws and importer codes were different, I put all the numbers from old one and it worked no probs, BUT 05 car you must have a midline or high from a Touran or caddy with same year cluster!! Took me months to sort it!

    I had same problem. Just drive around home 1-2 km, turn steering wheel to left, to right, and try coding again, it helped me.

      @Miles Rudy i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
      Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    If you have the code to your radio, you should ground out the power 100% from your system. Disconnect the + and - from the battery, then arc a spare wire between the two battery cables (don't arc the battery just the cables), this will reset the system and should adapt/softcode itself, if not it should accept the code at least.     Can change first EPB control unit electric parking brake afterwards code EPB. You have replaced the EPB control unit electric parking brake. You code afterwards. Is it possible to change EPB afterwards code with VCDS

    I got that same issue. Login and coding in accordance to wiki RossTech BUT i am not able to do ABS bleeding. Function 010 says error and not allows me make ABS bleeding procedure.
    I can do ABS pump test and other test but no ABS bleeding....

    Am having issues with steering angle sensor giving me a reading of -800 degrees from a sub controller. Anyone with ideas to why please help. It is an Audi A4 B8 2010 model

    It's not about the software or chinese wire. Coding an OEM used ABS Control module in an Audi A4 B6 is as simply as following the following two rules:
    1) login code for new ABS Control module replacement is calculated from current coding number. So before removing the old ABS control module, take note of your current coding number. Then use the Ross wiki or video to calculate your login code. Very easy.
    2) clear all error codes using VCDS software of whatever software you run before trying any other thing. I mean ALL error codes from ALL modules, not only ABS modules. Also engine error codes, instrument error codes. If you fail to doit, new ABS control module won't attach.
    I used VCDS 12.12 release with a cheap VAG-HEX chinese wire. Remember to complete remaining steps aside of login and coding. And once all is done, go for a ride with your Audi A4. All the lights in the counter clock will go off shortly.
    Mine is a 2002 Audi A4 B6 3.0 V6 220hp with a new used OEM ABS control unit coming from a V6 2.5 TDI. And it works.

      Great information, question i have vcds and trying to perform the coding for someone who replaced a used oem not bosch but still oem but they did away with their previous module.
      The vcds is reading the new / used but it is not offering the coding button!?
      Any insight will be appreciated.

      you can download it for free. But you need the original adapter to connect your PC to the ECU of the car. Thats 400-500 € ...

    I replaced my Skoda Yeti 4th fuel injector and while coding, when press the do it button, a dialogue box appears saying:
    This appears to be an uninitialised control module;
    Valid WSC/importer/equipment data may be required.
    Click Yes for vcds to use default values of 12345/123/12345
    Click No for vcds to use values currently in the module ,
    Click cancel to go back and manually edit the
    I tried both the yes and no options nothing works, engine won't start (was working perfectly before it was just a bad 4th injector but was working). I primed fuel as well.
    The car engine is not starting at all now seems like the coding is messed up. Any help would be appreciated.
    (VCDS is genuine - software, and cable both)

    Мне помогло так вход 09555, кодирование 04255 .work 12345. Потом кодирование 40168. Базовые датчик угла. Заводим резко ударить по тормозу должна потухнуть жёлтый стрелочка.и сразу едем делать восьмёрку. 3BG passat 2001.

      @@witold2452 its nothing to do with what you just said. You've either changed the number on the soft coding when you've initially went into option "Coding-07" on the 03-ABS brakes module. You've opened long coder then unchecked boxes you shouldn't have so it's reset the short/soft code to 00000. This is visible in the vid so is not an opinion but a fact. The absolute only other way you can VCDS to give you this same problem is if you don't do an autoscan and lose the ABS long coding either by messing about with long coding helper and hitting escape button so it accidentally applied the new long code and thus long code would not take to your modules so offer up a "incorrectly coded" warning, or you've accidentally unchecked or checked one of the "Installed" modules on the Can-bus options screen. This will remove the soft coding to 00000 on the ABS and not bother even attempting to insert the long code as its not being asked to provide that number anymore since you unchecked one of the "installed" modules by accident or even messed about with one in the Can-bus and forgot to run the codes before pulling out the module or you didn't close and go back or you simply didn't have a clue full stop. Which one is it? Because its certainly not caused by the polling/ping excuse you just offered, the controller had full control of the module mate its on the vid as visual proof that it did.

      Also see the intermittent fault you can set it to poll less frequently get away with faults but guaranteed this fault was the wiring at the connector down under the headlight that caused it. Common on UK golfs and can be fixed by cleaning out and inspecting for bare wire. If no bare wire the only thing needed is cleaned connector. What can also cause it is the front pad wear sensor wiring going black and the signal it causes somehow rots out one of the main under bonnet fuse box main live tails which in turn causes Radio antenna fault/rear door circuit electrics fault and causes abs and steering faults on the models that use the abs sensor ring on the hubs to determine the tire pressure warning (TPMS) and the traction control. I hope this all makes sense as on the soft coding a 00000 entry is a big no no it means you haven't went through all the coding byte options and disabled the first part of the module that subsequently allows for when you uncheck the options you seen on the first page or opt to enter a code manually it will always result in a value higher than 00000.
