      Leonard is a superior defender than Jordan. But Jordan's ability to score was uncanny. Kawhi has all the talents to be a top 5 player of all time, but needs the accolades and more achievements

      @@Charlie-wl2qt I'm not sure I'd say that Leonard is a superior defender. Jordan did win a DPOY, led the league in steals multiple times, and he has the 2nd most blocks amongst guards of all-time. He could wreck games on the defensive end similar to Leonard.

      I think we’re going to see things go ‘back to basics’ soon.
      The Golden State years have kind of been experimental years for the entire league. But now you’re starting to see big men shine once again and players like Kawhi showing that you can be unstoppable playing ‘older’ Basketball.
      It’s interesting to watch all this unfold.

    • @greghmn
      @greghmn 5 лет назад +8

      Some things are here to stay, though. Emphasis on floor spacing has proven to work against zone defense thus far, and unless the rules change, the three has largely supplanted the midrange jumper for good. However, regarding the skill sets of individual players, the post game is likely to make a comeback, even though improvements in handling, passing, and shooting are going to continue across the board. We may see more true centers despite the domanince of forward-centers ever since Duncan and Garnett took over the league, while power forwards evolve into something between 2019 Blake Griffin and prime LaMarcus Aldridge. We will see trends, like guys in an intermediate height range who can play 1-3 or 2-4 depending on the needs of the team. The pass-first PG has largely been replaced with the Allen Iverson school of thought, but a lot of the stars now may switch to that role as they lose a step (*clears throat* Westbrook). Shooting guard and small forward might become less similar due to specialization within offensive scheme, but who knows?
      Or, this could all be wrong and we’ll see a bunch of “positionless” guys with some specialized roles at both height extremes.

Marc Gasol,Pascal Siakam,Danny Green,Kyle Lowry,Kawhi Leonard,Serge Ibaka and even some of rest of the guys are complete studs on defense as team and individuals defenders. But then you look at them on offense and they get scary good. The ball is poping in the right places,bodies are moving,the ball is poping,getting open 3 pointers,cutting to the basket and when all of that doesn't work you just throw it to Kawhi and maybe evne Siakam and you get buckets. People say Kawhi isn't a great passer because his assists aren't off the chart. But his assists aren't off the chart mainly because he usually passes to someone who then passes to the open man. And that's good enough. As long as Kawhi can draw the double team and Toronto can get the ball moving after his pass they will find a very high quality shot. There is no need for him to be the one that finds the open man. His job is to just break down the defense more than anything.

    Kawhi look like Kobe in his prime I love the way he works below the free throw line on the block then makes you pick your poison because he is a all around offensively talented player he makes it look too easy I believe he hasn't hit his full peak yet as a player that's scary for any player in the League....

    I’m a celtics fan and I’m terrified of the idea of going up against him, obviously have to get past the bucks first which I don’t believe we’ll do but if we do it’s annoying I won’t be able to appreciate Kawhi’s brilliance

    If Craptors wins it all. Kawhi should be in GOAT conversation. Zaza Pachulia was the only player that was successful in stopping him and also to some extent, Kyle Lowry. I don't like Craptors and the only player I like in Philly is Jimmy so I don't care who will win this series.

    Notice when Kawhi is taking these shots, usually someone else is open? Typically Green or Gasol for 3. Their defense is horrible. If they Double Kawhi it's going to get worse.

    James Harden has had a great scoring year, yet I have to say he doesn't have the scoring skillset that Kawhi has. The only thing he does better than Kawhi is probably creatively shooting 3s since he can dance around before shooting one. But Kawhi has an effective mid-range and post up game in his arsenal. He's a more complete scorer. And the only guy better than him in scoring skillset is KD.
    Kawhi is easily one of my fav players in the game today.

    • @mono0288

      Fully agree. Durant is only slightly better than Kawhi on offence. Kawhi owns him on defence. Kawhi is the best player in the NBA now
