Amazon is known for that 💀 Some of them literally pack the packages so the machine will verify that the package was sent and then they take it out to the original place. Stealing from clients who paid. Amazon just doesn't give a f, and lawyers and stuff would probably mess up a "standard" person, so we just don't seek out the justice. So doubt it that she would get anything good out of going to the court with big ass company lol

Right now it's an Amazon listening but it can quickly evolve into something worse not only for her/people famous but for **all** of us. All it takes is for an obsessive person with some computer skills and access to a few photos of you (social media or not) to latch on.
It's already been happening. It happened to a bunch of celebrities and its been happening to a bunch of high school girls. Deep fakes have always been problematic! I wish they would pass laws to prevent stuff like this but I'm not confident in our government doing anything not bat shit right now.
Law student here - highly recommend having your attorneys look into copyright claims for the video usage (no way it’s fair use), trademark claims for the skirt, and right of publicity claims for appropriation of your body. This is totally lame best of luck

That actually does make me legitimately uncomfortable. Like, low quality fast fashion drop shippers used to just steal content outright and bank on the confusion when people saw a face they knew promoting something but this means they’ve caught on and even though they’re still stealing content and images, they’re putting effort into passing things off as genuine social media advertising/marketing. I don’t like the implications of that and that’s not even touching how anyone stealing your image to falsely represent something is already a rights violation

Ok that’s a bit extreme. The AI face is probably from a youtuber or someone who makes a lot of videos. They can’t just use a picture and have it look this realistic. They need different angles etc. You could just private the pictures or put them as friends only. I have a private account and still don’t post.

Even with one photo or three, theres apps to make nudes and have a proper estimate of your face, i think even putting a few photos into a generator and its nearly uncanny for copying your face at even more accurate levels than the weirdo apps. I would say regardless of whether or not they need lots of footage or just 3 pictures, at this point, the average individual who has social media to share pics with family and friends is probably safe (even if they are using a public profile), simply because the motive of using our faces to sell something (whether it's nudity or a product) isn't there. Those who I would think should have some concern include people with some sort of "status," like a youtuber with a curated, pretty beloved brand (like this youtuber) or if you are a youtuber/tiktoker, twitch streamer, etc. who reviews products, especially from suspicious companies (like temu, shein), so you have a lot of footage of you trying on their products. I think most of us have seen youtubers trying out some "too good to be true" affordable skincare from an amazon seller or some other possibly fraudulent website/seller, and even though the youtuber is honest and warns others against this "viral" product (and was maybe even trying to be relatively altruistic in trying said shady "viral product" aka "I'll try this product and tell you the truth so you don't waste your money/get scammed"), the fraudulent seller is able to cut up the footage of the massive youtuber in such a way that looks like they maybe enjoyed the product or even did an ad for them, and then they use that footage (or a still photo from it) in an advertisement. That's been happening for years and didn't even require AI. The last group I would think should be concerned, including the influencers/steamers whose content isn't necessarily sexually suggestive, but that many of their subscribers still tend to comment on aspects of their body in a sexual way because there likely is money in generating AI nudity of said person. I wanna be clear that I don't condone ANY of that aforementioned criminal activity. Not only because it's illegal, but I also ethically find it abhorrent and anyone making money from doing something like this, which makes a person feel as though their hard work or, even worse, their autonomy has been stolen is a putrid fckhead. I'm just explaining why I don't think this unfortunate experience for Cassey is justification for deleting you and all of your family members' social media accounts, especially without their permission/discussing it with them first. I feel bad that Cassey is having to deal with this, and I hope she is able to get this taken down quickly. ugh, even if it's not the same context, i get you. when i was younger my mom would ask me over and over to send her pics of myself and i did; a few years later i found out she was posting MY pictures of MY face on her facebook, I made her delete the account. edit: later on, on high-school, i had to deal with a teacher who would pressure me into doing tiktoks with the whole grade doing challenges and sh-t, i was the "mean one" for not wanting and standing my ground about being recorded, guess what, she also did lots and lots of videos about a classmates death, kept rubbing it in on his friend's faces that the kid, in fact died, she kept bringing it out and making tiktok after tiktok and recording us doing ritualistic stuff like, Christian prayer around a rock in a secular school, prayer around a shrine on the classroom (the shrine i get, wholesome memorabilia) and a coordinated dance of the 20 something kids, all holding hands and spinning around a picture of him in a circle, then breaking out into the traditional dance from our country. a fun fact: i had only spoken to that dude three times, i was not his friend nor close to him nor did i want to be his friend, i respected him because he was a cool guy, but thats that. i basically spun around in a uncoordinated circle for a guy i didnt even know and got called mean when i kept refusing because of how hypocritical i sounded, and yeah, the teacher recorded the dance, the prayers, the activities she did regarding his death and posted them all on tiktok and went viral

Dupes are one thing. Many people praise brands like elf cosmetics for duping higher end makeup brands like Charlotte Tilbury; others love when Target releases home decor similar to a piece being sold on CB2 or Anthropologie. But these sellers absolutely crossed a line using someone likeness to sell the dupe (if they even have a product?) definitely needs to be against their policy. There are many similar "athleisure-wear" skirts and skorts on the market right now, but these sellers using Cassey's video, the same background (aka her home), her body, her mannerisms and video of her exact product, while using AI to replace only her face with a woman who looks deliberately similar to her is absolutely unethical and I would assume illegal. I agree it would be great if Jeff Bezos and the other large shareholders would put a bit of their fortunes into hiring people to comb through Amazon and delete obvious scams and to check sellers who are reported for stuff like this. Do you know if you can even report sellers on Amazon? And if you ever have, is anything actually done about it? I have probably only purchased items from Amazon about 3 times in my life, which is not the norm for my "demographic" as a 37 y/o woman living in the United States. I'm not virtue signaling; it's because of their endless dupes and the app even comparing the item you have chosen to VERY similar options as the reason why I can't shop on there. I have anxiety, ocd, and adhd, and I get decision fatigue so quickly when I attempt to shop on Amazon. It just stresses me out so much, and I end up choosing nothing but wasting an hour. Sorry for blabbing on and on. 😅😊
Third party sellers. It tells you on the listing's who is selling what. Amazon would only be in charge of taking the listings off the website which she needs to bring attention to.

edit: later on, on high-school, i had to deal with a teacher who would pressure me into doing tiktoks with the whole grade doing challenges and sh-t, i was the "mean one" for not wanting and standing my ground about being recorded, guess what, she also did lots and lots of videos about a classmates death, kept rubbing it in on his friend's faces that the kid, in fact died, she kept bringing it out and making tiktok after tiktok and recording us doing ritualistic stuff like, Christian prayer around a rock in a secular school, prayer around a shrine on the classroom (the shrine i get, wholesome memorabilia) and a coordinated dance of the 20 something kids, all holding hands and spinning around a picture of him in a circle, then breaking out into the traditional dance from our country. a fun fact: i had only spoken to that dude three times, i was not his friend nor close to him nor did i want to be his friend, i respected him because he was a cool guy, but thats that. i basically spun around in a uncoordinated circle for a guy i didnt even know and got called mean when i kept refusing because of how hypocritical i sounded, and yeah, the teacher recorded the dance, the prayers, the activities she did regarding his death and posted them all on tiktok and went viral
@@user-iz4tg4fz8b yep. There was a video on yt somewhere abt a girl on Instagram that had that happen to her. She posted photos of her fully clothed and stuff on her outfits on Instagram, and some weirdos used ai to make her look like she was nude and posted it to shit. It's scary.

Amazon you should take strict action against the dupes.
Dupes are one thing. Many people praise brands like elf cosmetics for duping higher end makeup brands like Charlotte Tilbury; others love when Target releases home decor similar to a piece being sold on CB2 or Anthropologie. But these sellers absolutely crossed a line using someone likeness to sell the dupe (if they even have a product?) definitely needs to be against their policy. There are many similar "athleisure-wear" skirts and skorts on the market right now, but these sellers using Cassey's video, the same background (aka her home), her body, her mannerisms and video of her exact product, while using AI to replace only her face with a woman who looks deliberately similar to her is absolutely unethical and I would assume illegal.
I agree it would be great if Jeff Bezos and the other large shareholders would put a bit of their fortunes into hiring people to comb through Amazon and delete obvious scams and to check sellers who are reported for stuff like this.
Do you know if you can even report sellers on Amazon? And if you ever have, is anything actually done about it? I have probably only purchased items from Amazon about 3 times in my life, which is not the norm for my "demographic" as a 37 y/o woman living in the United States. I'm not virtue signaling; it's because of their endless dupes and the app even comparing the item you have chosen to VERY similar options as the reason why I can't shop on there. I have anxiety, ocd, and adhd, and I get decision fatigue so quickly when I attempt to shop on Amazon. It just stresses me out so much, and I end up choosing nothing but wasting an hour.

Third party sellers. It tells you on the listing's who is selling what. Amazon would only be in charge of taking the listings off the website which she needs to bring attention to.
