finally synchro deck that not spamming special summon. but a versatile mid range consistent one card combo decent boss monster. the core of it engine is small. it has lot room for hand trap/going second staples and even to modify the end board depend on the meta. it doesn't fill 1/5 of your deck with bricks/garnet. it easy to recover after your board got destroyed. feels like synchro version of zoodiac and shaddoll. it got amazing success in OCG. i think would be the same for TCG.
it also is a lot of fun to play with. its not OP but can be pretty strong, it has removal but is not like a pile of goodstuff like most other synchro decks.
In this deck, Dragite and Baroness are over estimated and unprotected. Their negations can be so easily overcome. On the other hand Cheng Ying can literally remove the summoning resources completely NON-DESTRUCTING and NON-TARGETING; he has protection which also creates advance. If you're on turn one, I recommend to summon him over Baroness.
Counter argument: Negates are negates, even if unprotected and somewhat easy to play around with baits and extenders. Cheng Ying can't be easily destroyed, sure, but it don't got Targeting protection, meaning something like a Book of Moon, Infib, or Knightmare Unicorn can take care of it unless you have negation of your own to counter it. And nothing is stopping a opponent from simply using Lightning Storm/Raigeki (Destroys your negating Xian and easy way to trigger Cheng) Droplets or Dark Ruler No More to stuff your entire board before moving on to your plays. Granted, the last point can't be really helped unless you play Spell Card hate like Solemns or Anti-Spell, but considering that most would prefer to run hand-traps over them regardless of the protection that it is more of a problem that modern Yugioh has to deal with.
Both cards are good but I think its based on what you have in hand. Like if u have more negates in hand in the form of Ash or imperm then use chen ying but if u have less negates or less cards to follow up on the next turn use baroness
@@anonjohn9760 I disagree. If negations are used to deal with targeting tech cards (Book of the moon etc) then the negation is lost anyway, your opponent will keep going on with their combo. Unfortunately Baroness can negate only one time while it's face up so the the card is not useful after one use. Beside, Baroness static 3000 ATK is easily overcome during battle phase. The key combo which is not shown in this vid is to use D.D. Crow then Cheng Ying's effect, by removing 3 cards most combos would suffer. Don't cound Dark Ruler No More and Droplet, no monster can deal with these two. However, if Cheng Ying is in GY you can summon him back so easily with Xiangjang spell, something you cannot do with Baroness and Gragite. If you play turn 1 normally you end up with either: Cheng Ying + Chi Xiao / Gragite + Cheng Ying / Gragite + Baroness. I played and watch people played for about 100+ matches, the first board normally stands a turn and others got wrecked and lost without any way to enable follow up play.

I can see the potential of having non-targeting banishing, but my main concern with Cheng's effect is that it's not entirely unconditional. A card has to be banished before it can trigger it, and if an opponent just negates or removes Cheng before it has valid and impactful targets then all you have to fall back on is Chi Xiao or another Lv 8 Synchro as a Targeted negate. Running D.D. Crow can bypass this issue to a degree (or other banishing effects, like Trap Trick or Dinomiscous), but there is no guaranteeing that you see it within your hand even with draw power. That, and if an opponent can negate Cheng before they have cards in the grave or they start comboing off you still end up with zlich if the opponent can remove it from the board and then set up negation for the next turn or simply OTK. That's why for me I prefer having Baroness as my opening Lv 10 Synchro. Sure, if it has to blow a negate on Infib or Gama/Hand Trap then it is wasted, but that's still a resource they have to expend to deal with it, and I still have Chi Xao (and Dragite, in best case end boards) the opponent has to deal with unless they have blanket removal/negation. And if the opponent just has everything to screw you over and play through your best boards then you've already lost the duel, regardless of which Synchro you back. Additionally, if your deck screws you over and only gives you the Lv 6 Xian to work with, you can still make Baroness as your only negate and bank on whatever handtraps and backrow you drew instead. Or you could lead with Baroness in a combo to stop Hand Traps from gumming up the works, then tag out for a Xian in the grave during your opponents turn to have it ready for summoning again Turn 3. It also still has a free 1 Card Pop effect, which while slow can help clear up boards or burn negates from your opponent. The point I'm getting at here (hopefully) is that both bosses have their pros and cons to their usage. Ultimately I think its more preferably to err on the side of caution and go with Baroness, but I can honestly see why you or anyone else would rather go with Cheng to have a more risky but higher impact form of disruption. I guess it comes down to individual preference and what disruption is being commonly ran in the meta at any given cycle.
one other option is playing a tenyi variant. this works out really good too. i also play Nemeses Protos because he is easy to summon, searchable and can be a good adition to the field by blocking the opponent of summoning dark attributes

One thing about this deck that I really like is the fact that despite it's power and consistency, it's seem like it will end up being strong, yet beatable. Similar to Tribrigade of the current format. Handtraps actually have an impact, and most of the board can be turned off by DRNM/Forbidden Droplet, making those cards still useful. Definitely looking forward to it making an appearance.
@@stevendavis6157 At the very least you do have to remember/learn the combos. You don't really have to do that here. You could give this deck to someone who has never seen these cards and they will get it in minutes. Most meta decks you do have to learn their combos.

Even then, someone originally had to come up with them, before other's aped it. Thjis on the otherhand? It's strong and doesn't really require much learning. It's been awhile before I could refer to a deck as babies first combo, but Xiang Jian is it. Not much learning or memorization required.
I still think Tenyi is worth using as a small engine. Does help them push through disruption more going 2nd despite being easier to stop. Heck, getting locked into wyrms isn't as bad as it used to be since the new synchros are good bosses. I do get why Tenyi might not be the best build, but I still think it's good. Tenyi players who wanted Tenyi to become competitively viable, you got your wish granted with Xiangjian.

It is because the Tenyi build is not as good as the pure build. It will help Tenyi but it does Water Down Xiangjian which is already an amazing deck pure and is Tier 1. Yes the small Tenyi build with either the Gold wyrm , Brown wyrm and Dark Red wyrm with its Tenyi ROTA can help with disruption going 2nd. Plus because they are wyrm they can be used by Xiangjian. But if you run the small engine the amount of handtraps you have will be limited and handtraps listed in El Exodia deck profile helps with the disruption if you are going 2nd anyway and prevents your opponent from establishing a field. Some players are even running 2 droplets in the main deck because pure Xiangjian has the room for it. On EDOpro there was a discussion about this, Tenyi Xiangjian vs Pure Xiangjian and one anon called others noobs for not playing Tenyi Xiangjian and said the pure build is trash. It was until later on Edopro Project Ignis that they settled it with a back to back repeated duels. The Pure Xiangjian came out on top every time because they had the handtraps to stop Tenyi build and after losing multiple sets the anon rages quit and blames his repated loses on crackhead luck. You can use Tenyi Xiangjian if you are a Tenyi fan and that is fine because the deck will be a meta contender. But yes the pure Xiangjian handtrap is still better.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. But seems to me this deck is overpowered (by a lot). I don't know why its final score is 9/10. I was expecting 9.5 or 9.7. There are other videos of yours, where the deck has 9.2 final score (drytron, virtual world, zoodiac/eldlich, etc.). All of those have %80 win rate. This one has %85! The Archetypes monsters on their own does not seem that powerful at first. But with the following 3 boss monsters, they became the most OP deck I've ever seen 1. Baroness de Fleur (generic synchro, quick eff: negate any card once per turn) 2. Adamancipator Dragite (generic synchro, quick eff: negate any spell/trap once per turn, if you have a water monster in your GY, and you will have a water monster in your GY with this deck easily) 3. Chi Xiao (xiangjian boss, quick eff: negate a monster eff once per turn, by banishing 1 xiangjian monster from hand/gy, note that banishing is not a cost but becomes an advantage for this deck) If the starting hand is not awful, they will get 2 of those synchro monsters for sure. If their starting hand is average or better, they will get 3 of them on the board. Ultimately, this deck can negate: 1 monster eff + 1 spell/trap + 1 any card ONCE PER TURN. it is basically locdown gg/wp, without much effort, and in a consistent way (odds are pretty high, this is not like low chance exodia deck). The only negate I can imagine is Dark Ruler No More and Forbidden Droplet (and maybe super poly). How TF is this balanced? I'm expecting BANS for this deck. I loved the archetype, art, and lore. I would love to be wrong, and buy this deck. However playstyle being this linear, this easy, and having that much negates lockdowns pretty much any deck, I hated it after this video. Am I missing something here? Isn't it too obvious that this deck is completely inbalanced?

Pues ves ahorrando porque no será barato, Mo Ye y Ecclesia serán mínimo Súper Raras y los Synchros Super y Ultra (si siguen lo mismo que en OCG). Eso sí, durarán en el meta un tiempo al igual que los tri-brigade ya que si todo sigue igual, tendrán soporte dos packs más (o a lo mejor solo 1 porque la versión de Fleur de lis ya fue lanzada, aunque esperemos que dos). Con los tri-brigade golpearon a drident por no golpearlos a ellos, porque si no iban a ser el mejor deck y son competitivos desde antes de Bearbroom, incluso Rogue o Tier-2 desde que salieron. Aunque éstos, se les ve mejor.
Great video, as always. But there I one thing I wanted to know what the hell is the win rate is based on ? 85%? lol drytron the best deck in the format only got 65% win rate . Tbh, I tested the deck out (with your decklist) it seemed good and got the capacity to go second or first and play under disruption but its going second board isn't good it can't realy break your opponent 4 monsters ( according to the test I did against meta decks). Pls if anyone knows what the win rate is based on tell me. 😀

DRNM and droplet can shut these boards down but…….if you run it with tenyi and generate tokens and search for unrivaled fist of the tenyi then you got protection from anything. The problem is incorporating cards to search it while keeping the deck consistent
There is still a lot of improvements you can make with this Deck! Not resilient enough to go second! You can and should run more tech cards! Reduce the bricks! You wanna see Combo and not so many HTs/bricks
entre amigos nos pusimos a probar este deck en tag uno le metio "discordia" a su deck y tuvimos que esperar dandonos de cabeza contra los lvs 4 y uno que otro links que salia porque al desgraciado le toco los tres en mano inicial y nadie se habia puesto fenix o un unicorno en el deck extra para quitarlos y las trampas del arquetipo birllaban por su ausencia
Okay, after watching this clip again and thoroughly analyzing I gotta say this video is utterly BS! At first glance it seems normal but it’s really not!!!
Well this was made like 2 weeks after the release in OCG, so now we have a lot of more information about the deck. Kinda unfair judging an old video with info we have now. Now the choke points of the deck are more obvious and everyone knows how to play against the deck. But even knowing that, this was like the standar build of the deck when the video was made, just check the OCG top of the decks. Everyone was playing the pure version by far.

This is of course impossible to pull off that many times consistently. Especially going second! You are discrediting yourself by doing that! At least you should give us information before hand/heads UP like: „now some footage of games going second! The problem I have is that you make it look like Xiangjian can easily go second too and win! This completely gives us a wrong impression of Xiangjian! When I first saw it I thought to myself: „man this Deck is really oppressive and consistent!“ Which it’s really not! I never said anything about choke points or whatever! With my comment I apologize though. I didn’t make it clear what I meant! Your video is just misleading making it look like Xiangjian has no flaws except when it bricks!

Personally, I like to play Giant Pairfish & Gold Sarc in my build but yours looks pretty good as well, nice job.

Agreed. Tenyis make this deck more consistent in my opinion. Also, the Xiangjian tokens make Tenyi effects in GY live.
It is because the Tenyi build is not as good as the pure build. It will help Tenyi but it does Water Down Xiangjian which is already an amazing deck pure and is Tier 1. Yes the small Tenyi build with either the Gold wyrm , Brown wyrm and Dark Red wyrm with its Tenyi ROTA can help with disruption going 2nd. Plus because they are wyrm they can be used by Xiangjian. But if you run the small engine the amount of handtraps you have will be limited and handtraps listed in El Exodia deck profile helps with the disruption if you are going 2nd anyway and prevents your opponent from establishing a field. Some players are even running 2 droplets in the main deck because pure Xiangjian has the room for it.
On EDOpro there was a discussion about this, Tenyi Xiangjian vs Pure Xiangjian and one anon called others noobs for not playing Tenyi Xiangjian and said the pure build is trash. It was until later on Edopro Project Ignis that they settled it with a back to back repeated duels. The Pure Xiangjian came out on top every time because they had the handtraps to stop Tenyi build and after losing multiple sets the anon rages quit and blames his repated loses on crackhead luck. You can use Tenyi Xiangjian if you are a Tenyi fan and that is fine because the deck will be a meta contender. But yes the pure Xiangjian handtrap is still better.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. But seems to me this deck is overpowered (by a lot). I don't know why its final score is 9/10. I was expecting 9.5 or 9.7. There are other videos of yours, where the deck has 9.2 final score (drytron, virtual world, zoodiac/eldlich, etc.). All of those have %80 win rate. This one has %85!
The Archetypes monsters on their own does not seem that powerful at first. But with the following 3 boss monsters, they became the most OP deck I've ever seen
1. Baroness de Fleur (generic synchro, quick eff: negate any card once per turn)
2. Adamancipator Dragite (generic synchro, quick eff: negate any spell/trap once per turn, if you have a water monster in your GY, and you will have a water monster in your GY with this deck easily)
3. Chi Xiao (xiangjian boss, quick eff: negate a monster eff once per turn, by banishing 1 xiangjian monster from hand/gy, note that banishing is not a cost but becomes an advantage for this deck)
If the starting hand is not awful, they will get 2 of those synchro monsters for sure. If their starting hand is average or better, they will get 3 of them on the board.
Ultimately, this deck can negate: 1 monster eff + 1 spell/trap + 1 any card ONCE PER TURN.
it is basically locdown gg/wp, without much effort, and in a consistent way (odds are pretty high, this is not like low chance exodia deck).
The only negate I can imagine is Dark Ruler No More and Forbidden Droplet (and maybe super poly). How TF is this balanced? I'm expecting BANS for this deck.
I loved the archetype, art, and lore. I would love to be wrong, and buy this deck. However playstyle being this linear, this easy, and having that much negates lockdowns pretty much any deck, I hated it after this video. Am I missing something here? Isn't it too obvious that this deck is completely inbalanced?

Most of the time, the non Level 8 Synchros except by the Lv10 Xiangjian or Baroness and/or 1 copy of the LV 8 Xiangjian and Omega.

justo justo pensaba comprarme este deck XDD, ni modo, veré el vídeo y acá naalizo si hacerlo o no.
Pues ves ahorrando porque no será barato, Mo Ye y Ecclesia serán mínimo Súper Raras y los Synchros Super y Ultra (si siguen lo mismo que en OCG). Eso sí, durarán en el meta un tiempo al igual que los tri-brigade ya que si todo sigue igual, tendrán soporte dos packs más (o a lo mejor solo 1 porque la versión de Fleur de lis ya fue lanzada, aunque esperemos que dos). Con los tri-brigade golpearon a drident por no golpearlos a ellos, porque si no iban a ser el mejor deck y son competitivos desde antes de Bearbroom, incluso Rogue o Tier-2 desde que salieron. Aunque éstos, se les ve mejor.

Tbh, I tested the deck out (with your decklist) it seemed good and got the capacity to go second or first and play under disruption but its going second board isn't good it can't realy break your opponent 4 monsters ( according to the test I did against meta decks).

La construcción pura es mucho mejor a la híbrida tenyi; más espacio para hand traps y Ecclessia recompensa cualquier pérdida en consistencia
DRNM and droplet can shut these boards down but…….if you run it with tenyi and generate tokens and search for unrivaled fist of the tenyi then you got protection from anything. The problem is incorporating cards to search it while keeping the deck consistent

entre amigos nos pusimos a probar este deck en tag uno le metio "discordia" a su deck y tuvimos que esperar dandonos de cabeza contra los lvs 4 y uno que otro links que salia porque al desgraciado le toco los tres en mano inicial y nadie se habia puesto fenix o un unicorno en el deck extra para quitarlos y las trampas del arquetipo birllaban por su ausencia

Okay, after watching this clip again and thoroughly analyzing I gotta say this video is utterly BS!
At first glance it seems normal but it’s really not!!!
Well this was made like 2 weeks after the release in OCG, so now we have a lot of more information about the deck. Kinda unfair judging an old video with info we have now. Now the choke points of the deck are more obvious and everyone knows how to play against the deck. But even knowing that, this was like the standar build of the deck when the video was made, just check the OCG top of the decks. Everyone was playing the pure version by far.

What I just realized upon watching it again is that you started 3-4 times in a row with the perfect hand! This is of course impossible to pull off that many times consistently. Especially going second!

The problem I have is that you make it look like Xiangjian can easily go second too and win! This completely gives us a wrong impression of Xiangjian!
