I just enrolled at CSU, but as every high school student who doesn’t know what they want to do with their life, i’m having doubts and insecurities. I’m so glad you made this video, it makes me feel so much better about my decision and is solidifying my positive feelings about going!
It’s nice to hear this, but it just helps remind me that I’m not the only one going through similar feelings. I haven’t accepted admittance to a school yet, but I’ve been thinking about CSU a lot lately
@@dapper_slapper4093 What are you talking about? It's literally rated one of the top schools for grad programs. I'd check facts before saying stuff like this, your experience isn't what you should base the whole university quality of education on.
@@mercibleu3878 I find them to be very unorganized and most of my teachers dont spell correctly or write sentences correctly dueing lectures. Those little details are very important to me.
Hello from a current Colorado state student thank you so much for making this video I love old town Fort Collins and just like you I want to try all the breweries that we have new Belgium is my favorite if you make a brewery series for those auto 21 and up I’ll be awesome to know what are the rules we have in town
Hey I don’t know if you’ll see this or not but I’m deciding between those two schools as well?? Have you chosen yet?? And if so are you there and like the decision you made?? Thank you 💗💗
I went to CSU my freshman year. I didn't really like it and it was honestly underwhelming. College in general has been tough for me and I am a senior right now about to graduate.
@@atifazim5094 Well I came to CSU as an out of state student (Virginia) so I did not thinking CSU was worth going to school across the country for. I just thought it wasn't that fun of a school. The party scene is almost non existent past the first few weeks of the fall semester, except for a few very difficult to get into parties. I didn't think the campus or the area it's in is all that great or exciting either. I was underwhelmed by the campus views of the mountains, something I was looking very forward to about moving to Colorado. The campus and the school spirit aren't all that great either. A pretty boring school overall. If you are an out of state student looking to see what Colorado offers, you need to go to CU Boulder. From what I've heard, CU Boulder is a much better experience. It has a much better and more exciting party and social scene, and has a much more collegiate and social atmosphere. The campus and its views are also breathtaking, and it is much closer to skiing and other Colorado specific attractions. Much better and more hype sports too. Academics also are higher than CSU. In general a better school than CSU, if you are looking for a fun college experience, especially if you are an out of state student looking to see what Colorado has to offer.
@@thehonestjourney-s2w I think there's more to judge a school on than their party scene. I mean, CSU is actually well known for their competitive graduate programs, and while the city of Fort Collins isnt as big of a party city as Denver for example, it is still filled with a lot of activities to do and this is coming from an international student, not just out of state. I think it comes down to preference and goals. If you intend to go to a party school, there's definitely better schools to go to, but whether you want a better academic degree and recognition in terms of later applying to grad schools, CSU is one of them.
Merci Bleu well this post is for people looking to go to CSU for undergrad, not graduate school. That is an entirely different discussion that you are probably valid in. Also, it’s not just that CU Boulder is a party school, it’s just a more social school with a more collegiate atmosphere then CSU. I’m not saying there isn’t anything to do in Fort Collins, but there is much more to do in Boulder. Again this is for undergrad, and Boulder beats CSU for undergrad academics as well. For graduate school, it’s totally different and I think you should go to CSU if they have better graduate programs or ones that CU doesn’t have, but again, different discussion.
I totally understand what you guys are talking about. I'll attend CSU for graduate school. However, I would also want a school that is very active. It's not fun when people are not willing to make friends. I go to a commuter school in New York city and I hate the experience. I'm trying to move to a different state for a change. Education is mostly my main focus but I am also very social.
How was the diversity there? I'm Asian, and worried about the seemingly lack of diversity. Also, would you say you got a good academic education at CSU?
I went to both UConn and CSU (and CU). (I do kind of recommend school-hopping, to make the most of your college years.). UConn is far superior to CSU in terms of academics. CSU is more laid back but excellent for vet school. Otherwise, CSU on your resume probably won’t impress anyone.
I’ll be applying to colleges in the fall and CSU is one of my top choices - fingers crossed and thank you for this video!!

I go to CSU right now, its terrible. Try a different college. CSU is not high quality education.

Could you please state the reasons why you didn't like it? This might help the new students.

Hi! I’m from Pennsylvania and want to go CSU. did you feel that being an out of state student affected your experience?
I am applying to CSU and UCONN also. UCONN is my “reaching school” as you said. What were your grades/gpa like?
Had a high school GPA of 3.72! And an ACT score of 29! Hope that helps!
