I started playing on an online terraria server for the first time like 2 months ago and ended up finding 9k silt in a chest someone didn't want, so when I got the chloro extractinator I put it in a dark hidden area underground where I stored my stuff and started going at it in my own small money laundering operation. It was awesome
You likely got a bonus 88 plat because you sold it to a vendor who is alone. Happiness bonuses add extra value to the sales. It would have been even better if you sold it to a vendor who's in a biome they like and has neighbors they love or like.
This is true, I'd briefly considered the happiness mechanic but didn't want to overcomplicate things for myself, I'm sure it has an effect though. It's definitely not the only cause for a sale boost however, the Chloro Extractinator appears to literally produce more loot based on other tables on the Terraria wiki. Assuming the information is correct and I didn't mess up calculations, the only changes are the ore types and amounts you get, and per 1000 blocks you make 5.52G with the Extractinator, and 22.62G with the CE through ore sales, which is a pretty big bump :P
I really liked the chlorophyte extractnator but.....I didn't liked the stage you get it, besides Very Specific building situation there's not much to do with it using silt in you know...post mechas
I agree with that. I like the idea, and I think the new mechanics it has are good to have in the game, you're not likely to use it very much for what it gives you though in a playthrough unless you just have silt laying around and need a little extra gold or something
This is honestly one of the most useful additions to the game, but I have one MAJOR issue with it. It shouldn't be locked behind mechs. Really the main reason you'd get this is for the ore/bar swapping, and once you're post-mech, that becomes a useless feature, meaning this now becomes a useless item. You'd want to use it to, let's say turn your Adamantite into Titanium for armor, but once you get to the point in progression where this is available, you'll likely have already upgraded to something better, like Hallow, Chlorophyte, or Turtle. This item would be especially useful if you're on a drunk/Zenith world, or if you primarily fish for hardmode ores. Again, great item, but it's useless in terms of progression unless you cheat one in pre-mech, which honestly I think is when it should be available. Just like, change it to Hellstone or the first tier of hardmode ore and it would be MUCH better placed in progression than having it post-mech.
I think the unique new functions that it has over the Extractinator are important to have in the game, the chlorophyte extractinator isn't really practical for anything at the point you get it though, yeah.

Extractinator is basically a sieve. But it is indeed true that the stuff you get from it in the game is quite extraordinary. P.S Using 500k of silt to do something like this was abit waste of time. Nobodys going to have that much silt. Ever.
You certainly get a lot of money for the time you spend using the machine. As the other reply mentioned though, in order to do something like this you need a ridiculous amount of silt, which you're not likely to find very easily
Does that speed it up? I don't actually know much about frame skip, just that turning it off screws up chest names and signs so I keep it on most of the time

Another update is you can now put banners on the platform so you can remove those wood blocks in your arena
I'm essentially too lazy to do it lol, I love that update though, have made use of it on other worlds a lot, a very nice QoL change that they made
You do still need solid blocks for heart lanterns/stars in bottles though which is a bit of a shame
