I would just like to say a little fun fact. The corset was made with love and care .Tightening to that extreme!!! Even in the Victorian era that would be considered extreme they actually had an early form of photo shop where they would try to match the color in the background as best as they could so we can make them look like they had a tiny waist and corsets were NEVER meant to be painful unless it’s falling down or low quality! :]
You and your sister mentioned bells on coffins, and worried what it it rang and people had all left. Rarely was a graveyard completely empty. The cemetery keeper almost always had a little shack to live in on the grounds.
fun fact: did u guys know that in black and white movies people used green lipstick instead of red bc red looked black. Im guessing they thought the green looked more dark red?
I know you kinda discontinued the crayon thing, but I found a story about the color gray, and it's called: The Gray Man (A Ghost Story) or The Gray House: Georgia Haunted House Story
As much as a love you, I just would like to mention some misinformation on the corsets. Although, yes, some corsets can be dangerous. But the way majority of women would not “tight lace” (the practice of tightening one’s corset extremely tight) most women would break the corset in like shoes and they were able to wear them quiet comfortably :) because this is my passion I thought I would share
This! I hate seeing misinformation about corsets. Not only did women work in corsets, they're also comfortable if you're wearing one in your size. There are even folks who say that corsets can help support the lower back, which is great for people with back pain.
Maybe this was true over time, but there were fainting couches for a reason and many stories tell about them wearing tight corsets where the beauty that they strived for involved having a waist that a man could wrap his hands around. There's even a song about it. It was in the Titanic movie too.
@@micaelamorrigan2544 those were more extreme cases, not every woman was tying their corset that tight. A lot of the representation in the media involving corsets were extreme cases, which created the stigma of corsets being dangerous. Where have you seen a fainting couch outside of a cartoon?
@micaelamorrigan2544 The notion that corsets were harmful came from doctors from the 19th century; these same doctors believed the uterus was attached to a string, and if you moved around too much you can damage your uterus. It was mainly men saying these things. They would do whatever it takes to demean women. The fainting couch was mainly an accessory piece. I don't believe it was anything more than that
i’m really insecure about my freckles but hearing that message about freckles and then you saying people with freckles are beautiful LEGITIMATELY MADE ME CRY 😭 🫶🏻
I was just talking to my mom about this last night. And I learned that hiccups are spasms of the diaphragm. It’s something you can’t control and just goes away after time. They can be cause by stress, smoking, alcohol, eating too quickly. And much more
Hi jessi! love from india! I thought it would be really cool if you could make a video on the myths and hauntings of The Appalachian mountains (in reference with tiktok), It's a really deep dive let me tell you
37:47 Personally I feel that's kind of sweet to wear a piece of hair of ur loved ones. For example if one of ur parents died when u were a child or if ur child died young it would be sweet to have a piece of hair from said parent/child.
As someone with sensory issues, i would be so unfashionable not wearing a corset😂 I even refuse to wear jeans so corsets are a no go (from the past, i hear newer corsets are more comfy)
Corsets in the past weren’t exactly uncomfortable. Back in the 19th century you couldn’t exactly go to the store and buy a corset off the rack. They were all made to your measurements. A well fitted corset should be comfortable. If it’s not; it doesn’t fit you. You would’ve been put into a corset as a child; so you might’ve gotten used to it. I’m not sure if it would make things easier or better you.
Hi Jessi!I've been watching you since i was a kid, your content is very amazing! But i have a recomendation,Maybe you can do videos about Philippines urban legends?🇵🇭I would love you to talk about my country!!😊😅
The thing about corsets isn’t terrible true, tightlacing certainly causes issues, but it’s a huge misconception that people laced their corsets as tight as possible on a regular basis. That really only happened when someone was insecure over their body to an extreme point. The average person just laced them enough to keep them on comfortably.
Tbh I was just waiting to hear about the corset 47:19 This reminds me of Velvet and Veneer from Trolls 3 (idk if you've seen it but their really good movies I think you'd like them)
31:26 it is. As a was of exile, they would put peanut butter on peoples feet and then allow pigs to lick it off. This would cause people to laugh so hard they would have a heart attack or a deadly spasm in their brain
Scream Queen 👑 I wanted to talk about some of the things I've collected that go with this video. Evan (Peters .....AHS my husband) gets them for me) I collect Post Mortem Photography (I've even gotten them in there own art exhibits before.) And I collect the Victorian Hair Pins. With woven hair inside......and thanks to this video I just got a few more, I like these cause they're one of a kind and belonged to real people
22:17 there’s actually a newer version of this that goes on each cheek. It’s like a clamp that has one side the goes in the mouth and one that goes outside the mouth. It doesn’t cut ur cheeks like the one in the video tho.

You and your sister mentioned bells on coffins, and worried what it it rang and people had all left. Rarely was a graveyard completely empty. The cemetery keeper almost always had a little shack to live in on the grounds.

I've heard some of my teachers say that hiccups are when you're body doesn't get enough air so if you take deep breaths it usually helps for me
I only get hiccups from eating to fast (I have short lunch brakes)
