- What's up Pyro's, today we take a look at my big backyard 4th of July 2022 fireworks display I shot yesterday. I took some of my show out this year as I did not not have enough time to set up all of what I had planned to shoot. What are the salute cakes you use?
What firing system do you use? I had problems with Ignite this year.
I use the Cobra firing system. So the bigger version of their Ignite system. The 18R2 and 18M's.
I bought some cheap ones on Amazon for about 34 bucks for a 100. They worked great for ignition. Only about a 12 inch lead but extend the wires and your good. Now I used electrical tape on the fuses because they only give you about 1/4 tube to attach to a fuse. But every ignighter lit every fuse and even the red slow fuse. It's cheaper then spending a dollar a pop than the good ones. Hope that helps

Very nice, after your stash video, I was curious what you were going to send up. I had a new shoot location this year and had it shut down after 6 minutes, 1 neighbor was concerned, made the call to shut it down. Working on another location to shoot the remaining show. I'll try and post to my channel the beginning of my show. Love the backyard shows, super fun.
Awesome show man. Had a perfect pace and the finale looked awesome. This was the best 4th ever for me - I had the best time shooting off fireworks - and it's finally legal where I'm at. Lol. If you ever have a minute, I would love your honest opinion about how my show looked - the first ten minutes anyway. Hope you had a great fourth.
Curious, what is your budget for this? I spend about $1,300 yearly (of course that goes up every year haha). It usually is mostly on 500+ gram cakes and 5inch mortar shells. Would love to connect and compare notes on how I can best optimize my money as well. I could order pallets to my warehouse if I needed to even. Love this show and thought the timing and effects were perfect!
That crazy I’m only 14 and I’m starting to buy fireworks this year I buy 160 dollars in fireworks
So $1300 retail is not going to get you a lot of fireworks especially in the last 2 years. I currently buy fireworks from wholesalers who normally supply your local firework tents and stores. So $1300 wholesale you could get a 4/24 case of cannister shells, 8 cases of 4/1 500 gram cakes, and either some assortment cases or 200 gram cases that come 8/1 to as much as 24/1. So buying fireworks wholesale does not let you have a wide variety as buying retail but it does get you about 4 times the amount of fireworks if you spent the same amount between retail and wholesale orders. The obnoxiously loud screaming lady that sounds like she is an inch from the mic kills it for me.
Well, I can't control who sits by me because its not my land when I record so I tried to mute her as much as I could. Next year I plan on setting a distance between me and the audience to prevent this.
