I'm currently doing a complete frame out restoration on a 2915 Argo 750HDi 8x8 I bought 2 months ago. I just posted the first video of the rebuild series on my new RUclips channel. The Admiral transmission seems like it's going to be a PITA to pull out.
Thank you very much. That is exactly why I made the three Argo ATV videos. When I first got mine, I didn’t know much about them and information was hard to come by.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Coen Princeton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I will get that information and post it in the description. Additionally, I’ll try to find this message and reply to you directly. It’ll probably be a couple weeks before I get out where I have that pump.
Nice video do you happen to know about how to get to the alternator on these we have the Avenger 750 EFI and our does not seem to be charging the battery
I bought one not knowing how difficult the maintenance is. The oil filter is frozen on for the 20 hour oil change :(. It is pretty fun in the snow with the tracks though. Excellent capabilities, but taking care of it is involved.
I struggled today to suck very much oil out of the tranny. Do you actually get the 1200ml out of it? I even jacked the front of the argo way up and still only was able to get about 300ml of fresh gear oil into it, after extraction, before being half way up on the sight glass. I just find the gearing so close to the drain hole that I can’t get my nylon suction line down in there. I’m thinking I need like a flexible silicone line or to make an adapter on the end on my nylon one (it’s not very flexible). Any thoughts??
I use a small hose to get past the gears. The 80/90 oil is thick so it’s difficult to suck out. I run my machine, to heat up the transmission oil, before I suck it out or I put heater on the transmission to warm it up before I suck the oil out.
I grease all the bearings every time I take it out. It is common that outings find me in the water, so greasing the bearings pushes the water out. I change the engine and transmission oil annually.
I just called the All Seasons Argo dealership in Anchorage and they told me that might be something you would do with a snowmachine or a side-by-side where you’re running 8000 to 10,000 RPMs, however in an Argo you’re never really going to exceed 4000 to 5000 RPMs and so it’s not something that you would need to do because the RPMs are not high enough do you need a little bit a slip when you first engage it the clutch.
@@RaisedinAlaska don't forget it is a stealership. they likely don't sell silicone spray so they dont want you to go anywhere else cause when you see how much argo overcharges for their grease ,batteries etc you'll never go back..lol.🤣 Thanks for checking though👍
Thank you for the great video! I put my Argo on jack stands and start it and lube the chains in place at a low speed.
I love that idea, thank you.
Great vid. If you add a straight pipe to your grease gun it will make greasing the outer bearing way easier. Argo owner for 25 years.
That makes since, why didn’t I think of that. Thanks.👍🏽

Thank you, this video just appeared when I exactly need it, I got two Argos need to be serviced
Good video I'm a New Argo -owner almost a hundred kilometres on it now very impressed with the machine so far
I was so surprised the places mine would go when I first got it, and it still surprises me. Great machines, but they do require a little love.

I really like the Admiral trans. I’ll have to check out your build.
Hey. From fairbanks and i just got my first argo, Thanks for the video!
Thank you. They are amazing machines and you will be able to go places that are unbelievable. I love mine.
Great instructional video, especially for a new argo owner such as myself. Thanks!

@Coen Princeton It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account !
Great Video. I was wondering what size of hose you used to get down the dipstick tube?
@@chadriopel6914 I believe it’s 3/16, t’s very tiny. It sucks out a lot easier when the engine oil is hot.
excellent diyer video! very useful content! big thumbs up
Thank you kindly.
very nice video ,thank you!
Can you post information on the pump you use. Thanks

I think the alternator kit is an option. Without an alternator electricity is made with a magneto. The manual say to start by charging the battery.
@Raised in Alaska ok thank you for the info
Are you familiar with the mechanics of the Admiral transmission of the HDI models/2016?
Mine is an HDI about that year. I’ve serviced the trans, but never had to tear it down.
What’s the best way to get the oil filter off
I use a small oil filter wrench.
Sorry I missed your message. I use a filter wrench.
I was going to buy an Argo this month but I'm not going to now! Thanks for stopping me from making a big mistake.
That was not my goal.😉

Thanks for posting this mate- very helpful. What type of grease would you recommend?
I use marine grease, because it preforms better in water. I forgot to add that detail. Thank you.
@@RaisedinAlaska Great- wonderful tip, and that makes sense. I'll get a hold of that for sure.
Agreed, good post. I’m in the market for one

argo is the most difficult and least convenient vehicle to service with, drive me crazy all the time
They can be difficult to work on, but the places they will go.😁
Would you say that the Maxx. Machines are easier to work on?
Прикольно
Do you spray silicone lube on your clutches??
I have not sprayed anything on the clutches.
@@RaisedinAlaska I seen on here someone spraying it on and saying wait till it dries before you drive.
I’ll check with the dealership and reply with information. I never have, but that doesn’t mean that I should not have. I’ll find out.

HELP! Do your brake rotors "float"? They do on my 2015 750HDi. Is it normal or not?
ruclips.net/video/yuKGbQ9AiQ8/видео.htmlsi=FZQYNgWemBXMoeUP
Mine wiggle, but not as much as yours. I know a professional Argo mechanic. I will try to check with him and get back to you.
@@RaisedinAlaska that would be helpful! I'm looking over the parts list to see if there's some kind of spacer that goes on before the rotor slides on.
