Damn, i have, without a doubt, spent atleast 20- years looking for this particular episode. I had this recorded to VHS from TV when i was a kid and those tapes are long gone by now, so cool to finally be able to see this again. This spider was freaking scary when i was like 6- years old...
I can relate, honestly I spent a solid decade or more trying to find this series in general once the internet became more prominent. It's one I loved big time as a child, but could not find for the life of me for the longest time.
5:35 "The sun sets in the west and the Emerald City is due east. Just follow the shadows!" (a few hours later) "Oops, I forgot that the sun only sets due west at the equinox, and it's almost summer solstice. We've been walking with the wrong bearings this whole time!"
Narrated by Margot Kidder of Bob Clarke's Black Christmas, Brian De Palma's Sisters, and Richard Donner's Superman. Also Dorothy is scared of fog but not of a talking metal man with an axe, a sentient scarecrow that has no mouth but can talk, and a lion.
This series gives me so much joy, the animation is so charming and the writing is goofy at times. It has such perfect childhood nostalgia vibes
12:20 the way he jumps and just dives at toto is hilarious 😂
That giant spider creep me out.

They revealed themselves as friendly to her, but fog has unpredictability, especially in a land with giant spiders, tiger-bears and wicked witches
19:25 Remind anyone of anything in particular?
