Awesome! Always loved Terra and liked seeing her get some love. Ever try running these playthroughs with the FF6: ultima edition hack? Its much much harder then the original game. Good vid man!
Some tips if you're curious on how some things could be done better (not meant to be a critique, exactly; I know that you are probably playing through this game for the first time in a while). I'm more familiar with the SNES version, so some things might be different/broken in the PR, but I suspect that most of this is accurate: It's definitely still possible to win without Magic, though it would require more grinding in some areas. It wouldn't have been obnoxiously grindy even. The Megalodoths only use Blizzard if Terra's level is 5 or more. So if you fought fewer battles earlier, you could have avoided fudging the rules there. Damage from Fireball is only cut in half regardless of your number of party members. The reason why you've probably never died from Fireball before is because the Lesser Lopros can't use it until its third turn, and you've almost certainly won the fight by then with a full party. If you open up one of the chests in South Figaro cave just before fighting Tunnel Armour (i.e., not on your first trip through the cave), there will be a Thunder Rod in there, and according to your rules you would have been allowed to use it. Tossing that at Tunnel Armour would be a one-hit-KO, so you wouldn't have needed to grind at all. Kefka @ Narshe could be beaten at a lower level than you're giving it credit for. There's a Barrier Ring hidden in the Imperial Camp that will cast Shell on you at low HP. If you equip that and let yourself get knocked to low HP briefly, you can keep Shell through the entire fight and tank those Blizzaras much more easily. Kefka can't cast Blizzara twice in a row, so the only real danger is casting Fire on yourself in confusion multiple times (even that could be worked around with perfect play for a nearly guaranteed victory). Veil Dancer only casts level 2 spells if it's alone, so killing it first would have likely saved you in the battle you displayed. Number 024 is vulnerable to Imp, so that fight could have been made a bit easier. He still hits pretty hard while Imped, but with Protect as well it's probably still nicer that dealing the the Wallchange/healing. The Cure Ring is pretty busted in the PR from what I've seen. If you bought one at the auction house, you probably wouldn't have needed to grind for Cura before Air Force. Auto-Regen + Auto-Reflect likely would have taken care of Phunbaba 1 and Dullahan as well. Inferno only uses Meteor if the arms are killed, so that's the main reason why you won when you stopped killing the arms. That said, the Minerva Bustier makes you immune to Inferno's elemental attacks, so if you obtained that first and combined it with a shield that actually has defense the fight would have been pretty easy. Higher defenses (i.e., swapping out the Force Shield) would have been a good idea to deal with Guardian's Tentacle, Doom's attacks, and Kefka's attacks too. Trance does nothing to help against physical attacks like Tentacle. Also, the Lightbringer hits for full damage from the back row, so if you weren't in the back row (I think you weren't?), you should have been. With the right setup, you'd be taking a fraction of the physical damage you're taking in the video. You can even swap out the Force Shield mid-battle for Doom/Kefka to avoid losing its benefits during the parts where you'd want them. I wonder if the Safety Bit protects against Sleep's Calmness death counter in this version or if you just got lucky and evaded it.
Biggs and Wedge. Its pretty simple. You just have them run away. Its easier. Its what Speedrunners do for Pixel Remaster, then Bio Blast after. Terra starts with Fire Beam, then you run away with Biggs/Wedge after Terra takes action until Biggs/Wedge run you reset if Terra accidently runs
I am impressed. I always loved Terra as the second-most OP character in the game ( I rank Sabin slightly higher ) but I never thought she could win all by herself in less than 25 hours no less. Well done.
The part with the Lesser Lopros reminded me of when I tried to play through FFVI without weapons or abilities and I was stuck on the raft for about a week because of the Lesser Lopros. I was scared I'd have to restart the run because I had already defeated Ultros as well as finished Locke and Sabin's routes. I did eventually make it through!
Anyone with an Action Replay cartridge for the SNES would have found out pretty sharpish that Terra and Celes learn Ultima and Meteor spells respectively naturally.
When Celes and Locke go through the cave before Tunnel Armor, if you didn't pick up the chests' contents on the first run through, one of the chests will now contain a Thunder Rod. Celes can then break it on Tunnel Armor's head (which is allowed by this ruleset) and win without having to level.
@@tantacles Yeah probably, when it wasn't a Thunder Rod. Don't know if you're aware, but some chests hold different items depending on when you open them. The chest that has a Thunder Rod when you pick it up with Celes in that point of the game has just some random consumable if you open it with Terra/Edgar/Locke when they go through the cave after fighting the MTek Armors.
Technically no. Theres a few parts where you wont have terra. 3 parts i believe and some are major sections of the game. If you only count the parts with her then yes all fights can be soloable. Theres a couple sections of the game where you need multiple parties and while the moogle charm can avoid random battles you still need other characters.
An easier way to beat TunnelArmor is to skip the treasures on the way, pick them up on the way back in and get the rod and use it. I forget which one it is but it kills in one hit:
One time, god Kefka wiped out everyone except Umaro. Just so happened to have the safety bit and the blizzard orb mashing him immune to most of the attacks. Umaro auto battled god by himself and won.
For fiture runs to save on griding theres a chest in figaro cave that if you ignore it until Celes/Locke go throigh it, it changes to a thinder rod that 1 shots tunnel armor.
8:20 "Uniquely irredeemable enemy." Yes! By this measure, Kefka is the most evil villain in the entirety of FF. Most people think Sephiroth is the most evil. However, Sephiroth had one redeeming virtue: He was prepared to destroy the world for the sake of his "mother" in the form of Jenova. Kefka on the other hand, wanted to destroy everything including himself for the sake of destruction. His final speech is a declaration to make a monument to non-existence. He's the Joker on steroids, true chaotic evil incarnate.
I always name Sabin "Husband" and keep everyone else's names their default. Sabin is regularly compared to a bear and he's got all those muscles for punching things, he's exactly my type.
Iirc, I think Bio Blast is one of the beams you start off with in the prologue and it hits all enemies. That couldve kept you from dying. If not, well, Yea, you need meat shields. Otherwise, wonderful video!

When Celes and Locke go through the cave before Tunnel Armor, if you didn't pick up the chests' contents on the first run through, one of the chests will now contain a Thunder Rod. Celes can then break it on Tunnel Armor's head (which is allowed by this ruleset) and win without having to level.
Realistically I probably picked it up on the first run through the cave. XD
So… did you watch the first 30 seconds?
Also… you bought a boat today, didn’t you?
One of my all time favorite games!
should've gotten the lightning rod in the figaro cave to easily defeat the tunnel armor
TRUTH
Make sure to CAPITALISE random words FOR EMPHASIS
WHAT
Best game in the series
An easier way to beat TunnelArmor is to skip the treasures on the way, pick them up on the way back in and get the rod and use it. I forget which one it is but it kills in one hit:
Thunder Rod.
“Botta bing, botta bus” YOU BOUGHT A BUS?!? ARE YOU OKAY? BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED HELP!
Hm, Final Fantasy 3 or 6 Vid. Time to watch
I played this game too many times to want to play this game but this game is a true gem.
Terra and Celes are easy mode. Can you defeat Final Fantasy VI using only Umaro and Gogo pretending to be Umaro?
HELP
One time, god Kefka wiped out everyone except Umaro. Just so happened to have the safety bit and the blizzard orb mashing him immune to most of the attacks. Umaro auto battled god by himself and won.
For fiture runs to save on griding theres a chest in figaro cave that if you ignore it until Celes/Locke go throigh it, it changes to a thinder rod that 1 shots tunnel armor.
Your note at 20:30 said to skip to 1:21:00 and the video is 31:52. I can’t skip the spoilers accurately! Ack!!!
Sorry! I think I meant skip to 21:00
This makes me want to do a solo run of this game. Probably with Celes since she's my favorite.
3:30 Pleeze don't tell me you're about to get stunned to death.
Well…
@@tantacles It's happened to me lol
8:20 "Uniquely irredeemable enemy."
Yes!
Love this game so much.
This video is a poetic work of art, a Shakespearean sonnet for the modren age. Yes I said modren, because I am fancy.
This is a terraible idea.
😎
Wow that was a lot. Good show
these dad jokes are top tier
I wasn't expecting auto battle to be the solution to this run.
..... I'll see myself out.
Autosave. But it's missing all the bonus content. Aw yeah!
Here's an idea. Why not do a ff challenge run to see how quick you can get off of a boat in every game.
When Rolls Royce's wife and son died, they became Rolls Royce Phantoms
I can't believe I missed a video about my fav FF character! #Obsessed
Also, I had no idea you were such a car guy. 🤔🤣
Also, my fav FF main enemy. So, double the reason why I should've seen this already. ☠️
Yes. Yes you can
I really need these pixel remasters 😅
