Trade for a guy like Jerami Grant and sign a shooter like Gary Trent Jr. Get rid of THJ, Kleber and maybe a pick to get Grant
You had me until you mentioned grant
@@elijah.j3288what’s wrong with grant? He’d be perfect for this team and you slide PJ Washington to his natural SF position.
Gary Trent is no good...streaky like THJ
@@fringe_minority Trent is 25 and has an upward trajectory with his career. THJ in comparison is 32 and isn’t getting any better. Trent fits the Mavs core young talent and it never hurts to have enough shooting
@@mavsnation4life Grant is the perfect fit on that starting unit. Would take the defensive load off Kyrie and Luka while also being a massive upgrade over DJJ
Trade for a bucket getter off the bench like Jordan Clarkson & sign a good 3 and D player. I think they’ll bring back DJJ
Clarkson actually makes sense in Dallas
THANK YOU! I’ve been saying the same thing. If they trade THJ’s expiring and whatever pick(s) it takes to get Clarkson, they will get the 3rd scorer they desperately needed in the finals AND Clarkson makes less than THJ which should put them just under the luxury tax allowing them to offer DJJ the full MLE
1st - offer DJJ the max 5.2 they can offer. If a team gives him 2 year/40+ million let him walk. Grats on the bag. If he stays, give him his bigger ext next year.
2nd- Gaurantee Exum & Hardy
3rd - THJ expiring 16mil contract, maxi kleber 11 mil, + 2 first round picks to trade & hopefully bring in a legit 3rd option around that 28-30mil mark.
4th - if DJJ walks, sign a forward to the $5M, MLE
5th - finish out roster with minimum contracts, which could in theory be end of bench warmers like Lawson & Morris.
Who would that 28-30m player be?
@@whatsgood22022 I'm no GM but man there are a few players I'd like to get for sure 🤣. Realistically though prolly gonna have to wait to deadline to see which teams plan on tanking
the Kleber hate is way over the top...he shot 42.9% from 3 this season and plays good defense...one or two bad playoff games right after an injury should not be the reference
@@metronomy8388 While I do agree with you on the criticism being overstated, his contract is likely going to be integral in any trade for a better piece.
look at my response to metronomy (your 3rd step changes what DJJ can get paid). Also, if you wanna go all in for a legit 3rd option instead of getting a guy like hunter, would you go for jerami grant ?
Improve the bench
Luka needs to get in shape
Get a shooter
Get 1-2 guys that can create their own shot
Luka needs to get in shape although he led the playoffs in every category. What a joke 😂
@@HookahDoncic98nobody’s saying that he is zion Williamson-esque out of shape. People (fans and haters alike) are more so alluding to the fact that getting in shape would help him in two major categories: 1. Overall health (less of a chance of playing with injuries), and 2. He‘d be able to move quicker (both on offense (getting even better) and defense (improvement)). Yes, he‘s fantastic and already a no-brainer to be a first ballot HOF in the future, but getting in shape is something he really needs to work on.
@@HookahDoncic98In addition, don’t forget that he plays international basketball for Slovenia basically every summer, and he pretty much doesn’t have the luxury of taking a back seat and skipping that. There‘s a lot of pride involved in being the clear-cut best player of a former Yugoslav country. If he continues to do that, his fitness will need to improve so that his body can shoulder that workload.
@@HookahDoncic98& he got exposed crying to the refs getting killed on defense & not trying on defense lol
I agree orrr orrr different 😃 f*cking head coach
The very first thing we have to do is trade THJ and Kleber for a rotation player.
Batum
THJ and Powell not Kleber
Malcolm Brogdon is the answer for the mavs. 6MOTY can also play with luka and kyrie to close games and bring the ball if needed, can play off ball and very solid shooter/scorer. Above average perimeter defender, can run the offense off the bench and feed those 2 lob catchers. Price shouldn’t be too steep either. It is a no brainer and I believe nico will cook.
interesting but had a bad year and has a huge contract… i’d rather get jerami grant from the same team
@@Blake-wz6dk he has an expiring contract which makes him even more appealing and he avg 16/5 on a bad year. Thj+powell + 2025 first should do the trick. Add jaden hardy too if you have to. I would wait and see for the wings, they just made the finals and lost to a dominant superteam while luka was injured. No need to overreact. I expect them to keep djj and look for the growth of djj- green-omax and pj with finals experience under their belt. If an opportunity comes up all these guys are tradeable assets
@@yigitnacar7344 fair point, but i’d rather go big game hunting for a deni avdija or deandre hunter who’s timelines match luka better. brogdon would be the perfect 3rd guard behind luka and kyrie though
and to get one of these guys i’d give up THJ and Maxi instead, clearing up 2 wings spots to get one guy (leaves room for oMax on top of getting a higher end piece)
Yeah let's get an old guy who can't play defense that's the fix 😂😂
Glad to see these again! Keep em coming Bobby!
Trade for a wing that can give you scoring and a 3rd creator/ ball handler. I suggest deni advija, can shoot, playmake, 6’9 and can guard all 5 positions
Paul George
Him and Kyrie won’t get along😂
@@ICheem858 do you think it’ll get that serious? 🤣🤣🤣 the owner of the mavs is Israeli too

MIKAL BRIDGES THATS ALL

Derozen.
But this is not PS
Hardy and Exum definitely back
Luka had an amazing off season. He took a team who had only been together for 4 months to the finals and broke 2 NBA records. Being the first player to lead a playoff season in points, assists, rebounds, and steals is phenomenal. He will be back for many more years to come. The public will get tired of Luka Doncic. He’s starting the next dynasty.
He is the best in the world, and he is just getting started.
If they could get a guy like Lauri Markkanen that would be huge
I doubt this can happen though Lauri said he wanted to play with Luka years ago
they had one his name is Porzingis...Luka ran him outta town
@@cmn225 too injury prone
@@shanellmoonesinghe896 and Markkanen isn't?
Bro been saying this ..trade kleber and green for lauri and a shooter who can shoot from 45 basically a 3 and D guy
Why haven’t we talked about getting rid of Powell
Powell's role now is a locker guy. That's okay as long as he doesn't play the Center role for starter minutes.
Powell will retire a Maverick and likely end up on the coaching staff at some point
Because nobody will
Take that contract
The Mavericks Window is from NOW until they have to give Lively II that big extension probably rookie max based on his play this year and potential growth! They have the chance to add that 3rd player while Lively is on his rookie deal!
i think mavs should pursue Paul George probably becoz he has no ring, PG joining the mavs will give him a chance to win a ring
That would be awesome. It would also be nice to have someone close to Kyries age.. with experience and wisdom to balance things out with all the young guys
He need to come off the bench . Reduce is minutes. He mine as well Sacrifice for the a ring . 😂🤷🏾
If Klay is possible, i guess it could be a deathly combination with Luka, maybe trying with DeRozan
De Roxan doesn’t fit, can stretch the floor
First thing is Luka needs to lose some weight and get back to his bubble shape.
I want to see them trying to implement a different offense and get the ball moving a bit more. That style of play may work against certain matchups but they won’t win a championship like that.
I disagree, he is very dominant by being heavier. Luka is not a problem, he's been the best player in the playoffs.
Lukas not the problem there just missing one more scorer Kyle kuzma would of been perfect
@alexmartinez1020 luka is great on offence, but his defence sucks, so he is kinda a problem.
@@harrellwilliams5010 he just played finals, obviously not a problem. They defeated some great teams by playing great defense. Celtics were just too deep, no matter how good you play defense they have 7-8 consistent scorers. He could of play better defense really, but it wouldn't help.
@@fringe_minority😂😂😂 smh this is why people like you should never be around athletes. You’re an enabler.
Maxey hardaway and an additional player could open cap but unlikely there is a market for that. Josh green could be tradable I like hardy you could get him on a deal
I listen on you mid season for Dallas, you suggestion was to get healthy and not move pieces - the actual was quite different.
Mavs are just a few pieces away. The main thing they need is a two-way wing who can create his own shot. Mavs have decent 3&D guys (djj, pj, & kleber) who can catch and shoot, but not a guy who can create offense other than Luka and kyrie. But Luka and kyrie won’t have it going all the time, so they really need another guy who can create and play good defense. It doesn’t necessarily need to be another star tho. I’m thinking about a guy like jerami grant, Kelly oubre, or a Gary Trent jr. Players like those would take the Mavs to the next level imo.
Paul George?? lol
@@romero_mellow9573 I wasn’t really thinking about a star player, but if I were, ideally Mikal Bridges would be the perfect fit. PG not the defender he used to be, but he would be a good fit too.
@@marcgil256 I would kill for Markkanen! A starting five of Luka, Kyrie, Lauri, PJ and Lively would be unstoppable
Id say trade thj for bogdan bogdanovic for more shooting, and he can also make plays for hos teamates. Sign jonas valajunas he's a free agent this offseason and can come of the bench as mavs 3rd scorer in the paint all while further improving mavs interior defense. A 3 headed tower of lively, gafford, and jonas would be scary for slashers. Trade powell & maxi for a 3 & D wing that can further improve mavs defense while knocking down crucial 3's ( maybe someone like bojan bogdanovic or Joe ingles )
Basically if you want to make a move on a third star you have to make trades and stay below the second salary tax
It wouldn’t be too hard for them to offer DJJ the full MLE. If they trade THJ’s expiring and whatever pick(s) it takes to get Clarkson, they will get the 3rd scorer they desperately needed in the finals AND Clarkson makes less than THJ which should put them just under the luxury tax allowing them to offer DJJ the full MLE.
PJ and Lively gotta skill up(learn post moves) Luka can get in shape and get another shot creator
Too reliant on Luka & Kyrie to penetrate
lively has good potential he can shoot 3s so ky and Luka can have a field day with defenses with pick and pop and roll. lively has the potential to get a bag in the low post
PJ and I lively was not the reason Luka’s man walked right by him to the basket
Mavs just need to develop a good system, they play well when they pick up the pace and involve everyone
Finals was a pain to watch
They need to change coach or hire offensive assistant coach. JKidd doesn't have any offensive system besides give ball to Luka and Kyrie and spam Pick n roll. Brilliance of players will get you this far, you need some offensive sytem to get over the hump
I like DJJ but he must work on his game over the summer. Ball handling & shooting has to improve.
Full season with the new guys + a consistent 3ptr guy
Yeah turn Hardaway + Josh Green = Kevin Huerter (flame thrower off the bench).
Dallas needs to sign a 3 rd scorer like Paul George or a klay to fill out their roster!
Paul George is fit bcoz he is a 2way play I hope he joins the mavs so they have a chance next next season
Get rid of thj and kleber for a first team/elite two way player. Good luck Nico. Rest of the roster is fine. Having DJJ off the bench for defensive assignments could be nice.
Run it back. Young team they will get better see what you can get out of thj kleiba and a couple 1sts
Big 3s are done. Retain Luka and Kyrie and get quality players via trade. It won’t be free agency.
or trade KYRIE that is way overrated for decent players...
Derrick Jones should not be getting a 40m/2 year deal. He’s a 10m a year player max. If Dallas has to pay 20m to keep him they shouldn’t sign him. Way overpaid
I disagree. We pay THJ like 18 mill… if we have to give THJ away to keep Jones.. 10000% worth it
paying 20M a year for 6 pts and 2 rebs is crazy
@@nattydelights6381 You mean you overpaid for THJ and now you want to do the same for a guy who couldn't get playing time the Bulls last year? He's literally a D&Lob player cause he can't shoot. Spending on him would mean Luka giving up on the team in like 2 years

Stretch 5 and a 3&D Sf (elite shooter)
Back up guard who can either score or play make
1.) Lively
2.) Omax
3.) Hardy
... 😄
id say 2 players.
dont think we necessarily need a stretch 5. Other 2 options... yah we need that!
Mavs key free agents should be
OG because his def you could force a sign and trade with the Knicks he works well with lively gafford as a 4 .
Id also look at Derozen because he could be a great third option if coach is willing to work mid range offense into the system Klay as a shooter probably better fit
DWIGHT POWELL, is a MUST GO!!!
I‘d rather get rid of morris and keep Powell for that final roster spot. He‘s been on the team for a long time, and despite him not really being an option to play, he’s extremely important for their team chemistry. Morris doesn’t play either, so if I had to choose for one of them to go, it‘d be keef.
I'd put Hardy and Tim throw in a first round for a solid piece. Re sign Dante Exum for vet min.
I love Luka. And do believe he will win a ring. Now the Mavs need to strike while they have a team that showed they can make the finals. They just need one more great player. Klay would be the perfect piece. But Klay has 4 rings. So he probably wants the money over winning again.
Nobody here being realistic. Josh, Thj, Maxi isn't getting you, Lauri markkanen. Nor Jerami grant can work because he's getting paid too much, so CBA won't allow it.
Deni avdija is what the Mavs needs. 2 way wing being paid like 15mill and contract descending. He can score, defend, and playmake. Start him at the 3 and put DJJ back on the bench.
Deni is possible because Washington is starting to have too many wings, and depending on who they pick in the draft, they'll need to move someone to give the young players playing time since they're in a rebuild.
Lol yes many in here arent being realistic but you aren't either we arent getting Deni he's only 23 and Washington is probably going to draft a guard or Clingan
Or Sarr
@javierflores6852 like I said, that Deni is more possible getting because it does depend on who they draft because mock draft so far is Washington picking another wing. If they do pick a wing, that's another wing, Kuz, Deni, Bilal. One has to go.
Of course, they don't have to take what Dallas offers, but say Mavs offer Josh, Hardy, whatever picks for Deni. That's seems possible because that's a decently good package for Deni because he still hasn't proven anything yet. And they're young guards, so it's fit with Washington roster timeline
@@Frank-hv7xj Yeah I would love Deni another big wing he improved his offense of game a lot this season good defender it just depends how much Washington values him and i also did see we were interested in Deni this past deadline
@javierflores6852 yeah, I think I've seen that the coach isn't a fan of Deni, so that's why I personally think that Deni is probably going to be moved if they like the package for him
I am honestly shocked that a guy that failed when working for the NBA, almost all his forecasts are wrong still has a job as a reported speaking about offseasons for the teams.... I honestly think if you give me 6 months, I can do a better job...
luka with one leg didn’t show up? shocker
Paul George
deandre hunter for THJ and Maxi ? maybe a couple 2nds as well
the Kleber hate is way over the top...he shot 42.9% from 3 this season and plays good defense...one or two bad playoff games right after an injury should not be the reference
@@metronomy8388 my reference point is selling on dorian when he was in his 30s (still a good player, but about to decline). oMax and hunter should be able to replace his role being 6’8-6’9 forwards who can defend and shoot. Also, getting rid of him and THJ clears up enough cap space to offer DJJ 12.5 mil a year and keep him instead of just 5 mil
@@metronomy8388 he’s an expiring deal in his 30s… how much does he have left?
They badly need Shooter. Lively should learn to post and Shoot 3s… PJ improve 3s and learn to create and cut.
Im not a huge tobias harris fan but they say he is good defensively and he avgs 17ppg so if we could some how do a sign a trade for him with tim haradway if he would sign for timmys salary we would be good
Dallas had to grind their way out of the West and then Luka was banged up, but Boston was the better team. Although Boston cruised to the finals and where fresher. Next year Jrue and Horford will be older and KP is always hurt anyway, I don't think they'll repeat, but Dallas getting out of the West again is not guaranteed
We need 2 wings , both 3-d and one with the potential to be 3 level scorer and a fooor spacing 4-5 and another ball handler
That is Paul George
They need to Practice shooting and Making them . We couldn't even get a Game 6 😞🏀💯💪🏿
Lauri Markkanen would fit perfectly.
Mavs must get Klay if his available
No way Omar can soak up the DJJ minutes. DJJ was consistently our point-of-attack defender taking on the shiftiest guards, like Shai. Omax is just not capable of that.
Beasley from the Bucks?
they need to trade Kleber and THJ…Develop Omax and get some defense
the Kleber hate is way over the top...he shot 42.9% from 3 this season and plays good defense...one or two bad playoff games right after an injury should not be the reference
Defense was not their problem in the finals. They held the Celtics to lower scores than everyone. It was their offense that struggled.
@@Don_Kee Nah, that 5-out the Celtics was running was the reason We lost…Celtics were driving and kicking it to shooters way to easily. Out there making White and Hauser look like prime Curry and Klay. Offensively, we just got to make free throws, develop that 3pt threat with Lively and create some plays for PJ. People saying we need a 3rd option when I personally think PJ can be that person if he works on his game this summer. He need to try to become a 3-level scorer and he’s just 25
Klay, MPJ...
Michael Finley needs to go! He took a beer from a men’s hand! And there should be consequences

I can't really see them getting to the Finals again anytime soon. The West is so tough, it's really a toss-up, a lot of different teams can make it, whereas in the East there's only like 3-4 real contenders. The team that gets hot at the right moment usually goes, & Mavs got hot at the right time this year. They need to get rid of dead weight like Hardaway, Kleber, & go grab some defensive wings like the Wolves got. People are crapping on Luka as a defensive liability, but imo he was great throughout the entire playoffs up until the Finals. I felt like the Celtics were just too good that it became demoralizing, so it felt like he sort of just gave up defensively. Did people forget how he shut down every Clippers star in the 1st round? They all shot poorly when guarded by Luka. And Luka got a lot of defensive stops in the 2nd round & WCF as well, he was always in the passing lanes. He needs to go back to playmaking too, felt like in the Finals he was trying to do it himself, reverted back to too much iso ball & forcing bad shots. The Celtics were just a bad matchup for the Mavs, I think the Wolves & Nuggets would've done better.
Solid take.
Meh they said the same this year and look what happened they made it to the finals. Any team that got Luka has a chance to make it to the finals like lebron back in the day. Now the problem is winning the final. Lebron needed to go to Miami to win. The Mavs need to get a better roster or Luka gonna leave somewhere else to get his chips
@@purplesky4157 The thing is, LeBron was in the East. Luka is in the West. For since forever now (probably since the MJ days), the West has always been the more competitive conference. As great as LeBron is, he wouldn't have had all those Finals appearances if he were in the West all them years instead, the East was a cakewalk. The East is starting to get a little better, but still not as deep as the West. As bad as the Lakers may have seemed this past season, they might've been the 2nd seed if they were in the East.
