I was in this same hotel last month! The moment I started the video, I was like "wait, I know that place." Unreal views. But also my claustrophobia nearly got my sanity in these elevators... I hadn't done proper research into that tower ah ah! The mall nearby was a gem, also for the fact that there's a Din Tai Fung there. Makes me wanna go back. Also, next time try to go to the Jing'an temple, it's beautiful and the area is nice too.
What a great opportunity and trip! Arigatou for taking us along! Really into Chinese dramas as YT algorithm started bringing them up. Those gardens look so lovely and kinda like the ones in dramas? The Shanghai tower is a familiar backdrop too. Interesting that prices are lower than Japan, it's all about aps and that kanji comes in handy. ; )
I can relate with the solo part. Although when I traveled to Europe the last few years, I solo traveled most of the time, then met up with friends that showed me more that I didn't expect to explore.
the understanding things bc of kanji is so relatable, because i normally live in china and when i go to japan i mostly understand things in kanji bc of chinese hahaha (also the untamed is so good ^o^) you also definitely went to a bunch of good places!! chagee, green party, luckin... also the dog is called "line dog" in chinese lol apparently it's from a korean artist called moonlab_studio
Lovely Vlog! I'm really put off by the thought of having to do absolutely everything on my phone through apps that I have to instal just for China but Shanghai does look like a really nice destination for a vacation... I have a friend who's been all over China for the past couple of months due to work and the pictures he shares look really enticing too. I might just manage to jump over my old lady shadow and deal with the phone stuff so I can visit...
Yess it's worth it! And most chain places do also accept like card etc, it's just not very common to use them to pay with I think...and smaller places may not accept card at all
Shanghai looks really awesome. Looks like a really good trip 🥳 Oh and thanks for the tip about Saily (saw it on an earlier video). Recently tried it out on a trip and it worked great and was super easy to get and use!
Both Japan and China look so clean compared to the U.S. Didn’t see public trash bins. I love that citizens take pride in the country and don’t litter. We Americans could learn from Asian culture. Great info as always. Looking forward to seeing you visit a koi farm(probably best in summer)🙂
11:50 “that’s what she said” 😂 I’m so jealous. I haven’t been to Shanghai yet, I have been to Tokyo Disneyland and I’m going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow. I have the annual pass here in Florida but I haven’t been to Shanghai yet or Hong Kong or Paris. But I’m hoping in the next year or two I can check those off. Looks like a fun trip.
I want to go to the Fuxing Park! If they had a hat, shirt, and a tote bag; I would buy them! ⭐🌟🌠 😺 BlanBunny and Maltese are so cute! ❤Very important, did you see Flash in Zootopia? ❤ Thank you for another travel vlog, so cozy, comforting, and relaxing! I want to go there with the Saily app!
Oh wow, thanks for sharing about the QR codes and stuff, so you can't get through China then without getting the apps? Like they won't accept credit cards?
I think most places technically will accept credit cards too (like stores in malls etc), but a lot of places it's like 99% of people order off the apps so they just aren't used to it🤔
woah the miniso in china definitely better than the one in the states also lol. the maltese is super cute! and the tea set!! the tins can definitely be reused for other stuffs :) i heard china doesn't have that many english and harder to navigate/get around in comparison to japan.
Was it difficult to order things and find out addresses on your own? I really visit China but I’m kinda afraid bc I know zero to no chinese and my kanji knowledge is kinda bad lol
I spent a week in Shanghai in 2017, I saw a ton of stuff and I’m glad I went but I doubt I would go back. The vibe in China is totally different than Japan, it’s a quasi-authoritarian country and you can just feel it walking down the street, the people are not as happy and there are police watching everyone. I was never hassled by the police but local people did try and scam me, the usual Tea Room scam and the “please look at my art” scam lol. Many great things to see, but for me it was a one-off. Beijing is worth a week too. Best place in China is Hong Kong imo.

Traveled to Thailand and the Philippines
But I still have never been to China hopefully one day soon 😊

Yess!! Want to try going there next time, I planned on going but was too tired to be bothered by the end of the trip😆
More travel VLOGS!! Love China and Japan haha
Thank you!!

Your awkward solo poses seem relatable and kinda charming. Thanks for sharing your trip to Shanghai with us!
Genshin and TGCF fans here. I‘m so exciting to see these.❤❤

Thanks Allison, now my wife is planning a trip to Shanghai X'D
Wow, am I going to have to visit China? It's gorgeous!

I'm glad you tried it out and it worked for you! 😄
Gorgeous video, thank you for sharing your travels!
Also love the genshin mention- I just started playing and I love it so far!
Glad you had a nice time. Your hotel looked great 😊. I am nervous to solo travel, it’s very brave I think but also very good experience!

really a treat watching so many different places through your eyes 😁👌
Wow, I fly to Shanghai's Disneyland in a week too 🎉
Is it warm enough there? There are lots of People in t-shirt on the video.
I think I went during the last week of decently warm weather!! Should be colder now (but not snow-levels or anything)
Very nice trip. Thank you for sharing. Great view you had. from your room
Shanghai is amazing. I went there once and would love to go back!

Yess! I also have to go to Hong Kong and Paris still!
Very informative, thank you!! Shanghai is amazing, I definitely put it on my bucket list. Greetings from New England, Mass to be exact.
Yay! Another video!😸
Hey just wondering if you color grade when you film with osmo pocket camera .. or what settings do you have it on .. love the aesthetics ❤
Nice video ❤️ Thanks for sharing your mini vacation with us.
Looks like there's plenty of green spaces, not very much a concrete jungle like Tokyo
hi girl, thanks for the ride
Lovely video too watch thanks for sharing.🎄⛄
I want to go to the Fuxing Park! If they had a hat, shirt, and a tote bag; I would buy them! ⭐🌟🌠 😺

Yess Flash was in the ride 🦥
Hi Allison! Great video! Unrelated question: are you going to make fukubukuro videos again this year? Love them!
I really want to but honestly I'm not finding many this year...so maybe just 1-2 videos this year
Oh wow, thanks for sharing about the QR codes and stuff, so you can't get through China then without getting the apps? Like they won't accept credit cards?

@AllisoninTokyo ohhh I see, very interesting and different from other counties 😅
woah the miniso in china definitely better than the one in the states also lol. the maltese is super cute! and the tea set!! the tins can definitely be reused for other stuffs :) i heard china doesn't have that many english and harder to navigate/get around in comparison to japan.
Yess it is much harder than Japan I think...not impossible but more difficult for sure!
The Maine shirt!! Have u been to Maine? o:
nooo unfortunately it's just a random shirt
Luckin coffee was delisted from the NASDEQ for basically cooking their books. lol
Was it difficult to order things and find out addresses on your own? I really visit China but I’m kinda afraid bc I know zero to no chinese and my kanji knowledge is kinda bad lol
Addresses was 100% the hardest part since the only English maps app that works (I think) is Apple Maps, but it doesn't have everything 😓
