- www.sailrite.com/HH-66-Vinyl-C... HH-66 is a superior quality, fast drying (2-5 minutes), waterproof, solvent-synthetic resin adhesive. It is used extensively for bonding vinyl coated and vinyl laminated fabrics like Shelter-Rite and Boat Top to themselves or to various materials. Also used to bond urethanes, vinyl foams and films, leather, and metals. Outstanding for sealing or waterproofing stitched seams.

Read the manufacturer's warnings on the can. If you can believe them this adhesive is quite poisonous. At a minimum you should wear gloves and only use in a well ventilated area. This adhesive is not like contact cement. It appears to chemically melt the vinyl so when two pieces are treated and pressed together they bond. After you apply it if you wait to long the adhesive will dry out, the vinyl will harden, and then the pieces will not bond together. Better to attach the pieces together to soon than to late. My experience is the 2-5 minute drying time references when the glue has dried and you're past the point of attaching the two pieces together. It recommends using MEK to reactivate the adhesive after it has dried. I also recommend using some type of roller to press the pieces together. Not rocket science but there is a learning curve. Hope this helps.
I was hoping to use a product to glue long strips of cotton backed vinyl onto the top of old foam backed vinyl. (the old foam backed is too difficult to remove, i have tried in places and it was not easy or nearly impossible). This product sounds like I won't have the time to apply it to the length before it has dried out. Not sure if you've used anything else since reviewing this item but just wondering if you have any advise you could pass along to a novice.
I used this to apply a vinyl patch onto my vinyl soft top on my 05 s2000, which developed a small tear due to frame wear. Works better than anything I've tried.
I am replacing the vinyl window in a convertible top. Can I use this glue to glue it to the fabric?
this stuff also works for pvc fabric and can repair pvc rafts or make pvc rafts, drybags, floatation bags, etc
This product is flammable and must not go by air. It can travel by slow boat. I am not sure of any company selling it in Europe.
If the belt and the and the bow is made from PVC then it should work. I would test it in a inconspicuous spot to be sure.
I need to Glue vinyl to the inside of a boat. It is fiberglass. Will this glue work ?? Thanks
Can I use this to repair plastic or wooden boat?
can this product be shiped as ilive in ireland, how long might it take, and what cost.thanks for ur help.
Im trying to put this on vinyl for a shoe, possible?
What is the working temperature range? I'm in Wisconsin, and need to repair and refill an above ground pool liner for proper support through the remainder of winter. Looking at highs between 30-34 currently. I could certainly help the process short-term with a hair dryer, but am not sure of curing time, and whether or not it would cure properly. Thanks!
HH-66 can be applied in almost any temperature. It is used in the South Pole, Alaska and Canada.
It will freeze however if left in subfreezing temperatures for a period of time. The solvents will become slushy. If this happens, simply bring the product back to room temperature to allow the solvents to once again become the consistency of maple syrup.
Freezing will not affect the effectiveness of the product.
You should be aware that the colder the temperature, the longer it will take for the solvents to evaporate into the air.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks,
Eric
I'm planning to use it on the seams of a vinyl crawl space tarp. Two (2) seams approximately 40 feet in length each with a 2 - 3 inch overlap. How much adhesive would I need for this application?
I would get the 32 oz: www.sailrite.com/HH-66-Vinyl-Cement-Quart
Crystals to vinyl for costume?
I'm wanting to add a clear vinyl window to a dry bag made from PVC-coated polyester fabric. I'm sure this cement will bond the to materials together. However, how would I keep the cement from running and clouding the window? Would masking the area with scotch tape resolve this?
I have not tried to use masking tape when using HH66 but it might work very well. Try it on some scrap if you have it and then comment back about the results. I would be sure to remove the masking tape just as soon as possible, so it does not become glued to the vinyl assembly.
+Sailrite thank you! I will give it a test and let you know.
Can I use this product to adhere clear 60 gauge vinyl to my trucks weather strips (rubber)?
It would have to be tested, since we typically only use it for vinyl to vinyl applications. It may work for your vinyl to rubber test, but test a small spot first.
How about the smell? Can I use this on my vinyl dolls for custom reason?
The smell is very strong when first used, but lessens as the product cures.
Hi, can this glue be used to adhere two sheets of clear vinyl with stickers in-between and still come out fairly clear.
We have used HH-66 to glue clear vinyl with success. It does dry to a clear looking color, but is slightly noticeable between the layers of clear vinyl. Not sure what you mean by "stickers in-between. (NOTE: HH-66 will not glue to Stataglass or O'Sea brand vinyl)
I have a vinyl boat canopy cover that has the sewn seams coming apart. Can this be used to reattach the seams without sewing? Or should the seams be resewn then apply this to the seams to reinforce.
I think it would be best to resew the seams. However, it might work, if it does not hold you could always sew it then.
can you use this glue to attach a large vinyl decal to a polyester patio awning?
No, It's better for vinyl to vinyl applications.
can u buy hh66 in europe

I would think it would hold great for that.
I am sorry, but we can only ship this HH66 to a USA address only. It cannot be shipped by Air!

Can I use this to adhere nautolex marine vinyl straight to aluminum?
I do not think it will work on aluminum, sorry. It should be a vinyl to vinyl application.
Can I use it to glue clear vinyl 120 gauge to wood? (porch window enclosure)
It is best used for vinyl to vinyl (PVC fabric) applications. It is not recommended for vinyl to wood, sorry.
I read that you can't ship it by air, but what about shipping an item that has been glued together with this cement? If I glue something together, then pack it on a trip, will it ignite if I fly with it??? :(
***** Chances are it would not ignite, unless exposed to a flame, even in the can. When the product is applied to fabric and cured, no federal restrictions apply. Will the glue burn when applied and cured to the fabric? Yes, just like your shirt or any clothing would if it were exposed to a flame.
Sailrite Thank you! I was gluing fabric backed vinyl to an acrylic prop sword. It turned out this melts and slightly warps the fabric so it wasn't a good mix. It did work just fine repairing my pool toys though! Thanks for the information!
Can I glue a piece of upholstery vinyl to painted metal with HH-66?
Not sure it will work. I would not recommend doing that.
Will Vinyl Cement HH-66 bond vinyl to a plastic dashboard?
Charlie Whelan I have not tested that, but it might.
Thank you.

It's for a cosplay costume.
We have not tested it for that, sorry.
Can you use HH-66 on a vinyl in ground pool
Yes, if it is a vinyl to vinyl application it should work. However, it must be dry to apply the glue.
+Sailrite And yet you have a video of doing it in the water.
Can I use HH-66 on a inflatable Zodiac boat PVC floor repair?
Yes, if it is PVC you can. Always test a spot to be sure it works before using on the project.
you mentioned something about patches and not having to sow. did u mean I can glue a regular fabric patch with a band logo on a denim jacket?
Sorry, this vinyl cement is meant for vinyl to vinyl fabric applications not regular fabric to fabric.
I bought a Vinyl fabric from Joans to cover the patches on my sofa.Does your product stick them very good? I used many glues bought in Joans but they didnt work.
If it is a good vinyl materiel then yes HH-66 should work great!
Will it work on kite bladders ?
Maybe, I have not tired that. I assume they are a vinyl fabric, if not it will not work.
Will this work on vinyl coated mesh? Should I apply to both of the pieces I'm sticking to together?
Yes, it works great for most vinyl coated mesh fabrics. I typically only coat one side, but coating both will result in a stronger bond as the glue will cause the vinyl to soften before application.
Which stores keep this in stock??
Sailrite does at this link: www.sailrite.com/search?keywords=hh-66%20vinyl%20cement
What is that mesh material called?
It is called Trampoline Mesh Heavy Duty. Here is a link: www.sailrite.com/Trampoline-Mesh-Heavy-Duty-24oz-White-71

can I use HH-66 on pvc?
Yes, it typically works with PVC.
Sailrite I meant like glue the top of a vinyl not the bottom but to a pvc?
Alexander Alvarado If you are asking if a vinyl fabric can be glued to PVC the answer is yes. If it is a vinyl or PVC it typically will bond well. A test should be done, if in doubt.
okay thanks very much (y)
It's available in India...?
No, sorry. We can only ship this to a US address.
