The protest stuff is such a difficult one for me, because it is true that it turns people who agree with them against them, but also when the fuck has a nice planned and police patrolled walk down the street with a few signs ever done anything? The toffs just go "aw that's nice" and carry on fucking the world up. Women knew they had to be disruptive (kicking the shit out of men and blowing stuff up) to get the vote, black Americans knew they had to be disruptive to battle segregation, the French had to full scale revolt to remove the monarchy, but the world is ending and throwing food on a glass protected painting after decades of logic falling on deaf ears is too far? What are they meant to do to get heard? Kind of feels like we're fucked whatever. Don't do anything, nothing changes, do something, nothing changes but now people don't like you.
Brendan Burns may be right but the way they’re going about it is wrong and is just causing more harm to their own message.
And they are extremists, and it’s not an extreme situation. Is the planet dying? Yeah it is, it has been for thousands of years, the damage has already been done. I’m not saying do nothing, I’m saying this isn’t working, at all. The corporations that pay no tax and dump thousands of tons of waste into the oceans is the problem and putting paint on a priceless piece of art just is not helping. They didn’t damage the Mona Lisa or the Monet they did damage the thousands of pounds worth of frames they’re put in.
And yeah the road obstructions are absolutely the worst thing and it helps n poke
