Sorry to say, but Britain has the best musicians. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, The Clash, Coldplay, Blur, Muse, Gorillaz, ELO, Oasis, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Radiohead... the list goes on. US probably has better solo musical though.
Parallax Tiger Going to list the American bands just for fun: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, The Doors, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ramones, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Huey Lewis and the News, Hall & Oates (if they count as a band), Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Journey, Van Halen, KISS, Aerosmith, Boston, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Poco, The Allman Brothers Band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, The Doobie Brothers, Grand Funk Rail Road, Blue Oyster Cult...
If you live in the UK, 'The Universal' has been somewhat tainted by its overuse in ads for British Gas. But I'm sure Blur have made a fortune from it. p.s. No 'Popscene'?
Great that Song 2 didn't win, it's a cool song but not very representative of the band, on that matter The Universal is a much better choice (though I'd have picked one of the songs you put between 3 and 6 instead). But it's the favorite of the biggest Blur fan I know, so it's probably the top choice. The honorable mentions are strange though, You're so Great, Stereotypes and Fool's Day but no To the End, Out of Time or For Tomorrow ?
Modern Life is Rubbish is a criminally underrated album. Definitely one of their best. Can't believe no song from that album made the list. To me, For Tomorrow is the most iconic Blur song
Play-a-maker The guitar and drums of For Tomorrow immediately puts scenes of London with double decker busses, beige classical architecture and red phone boxes in my mind, a true British song if you ask me
10: Stereotypes 9: The Universal 8: There's no Other Way 7: Out of Time 6: Parklife 5: Charmless Man 4: Boys and Girls 3: Tender 2: Coffee and TV 1: Country House
That's sort of how it goes with Oasis here in the United States. Either people only know them for Wonderwall or try they try to listen to their other songs, but they hate it because they find out about the brother's massive egos. It's just stupid.
I'm sorry but no songs from "Modern Life is Rubbish"? OK, I can live with a single honorable mention to "There's no Other Way", the only video from "Leisure" album, although I love Blur's early shoegaze attemps, but why no "Modern Life is Rubbish"? This was, and still is, a brilliant record, even more than "Parklife" in my opinion. I'm sorry again, but that's a travesty...
Panos Egglezos modern life is rubbish.. It's a flawless album. Blur straddling the divide between leisure and what came from parklife onwards. Whilst I may not personally like all songs on it equally, they're all quality. There's no filler on it. The video is titled "best " (I assume in the sense of commercially) and mlir was never hugely successful in the sense it produced singles that rocketed up the singles charts so perhaps if those are the merits the chart is composed around, it explains the absence.
The Universal is absolutely my favourite song from Blur, totally deserves the top place! But I think Sunday Sunday is also brilliant and should place here too.
My Top 10: 10. Tracey Tracks (Parklife) 9. Slow Down (Leisure) 8. Sunday Sunday (Modern Life Is Rubbish) 7. Good Song (Think Tank) 6. Under The Westway (Single) 5. Country House ( The Great Escape) 4. On Your Own (Blur) 3. She's So High (Leisure) 2. Beetlebum (Blur) Honourable Mentions: The Puritan (Single), Ong Ong ( The Magic Whip), On My Way To The Club ( Think Tank), Coffee And TV (13), Bang (Leisure), Girls And Boys (Parklife), There's No Other Way (Leisure), M.O.R (Blur), Dan Abnormal (The Great Escape), Chinese Bombs (Blur), Charmless Man (The Great Escape) 1. Sing (Leisure)
My Top 10 Blur Songs 10. Chinese Bombs - Blur (1997) 9. Song 2 - Blur (1997) 8. Sing - Leisure (1991) 7. Come Together - Leisure (1991) 6. Popscene - " Popscene " Single (1992) 5. Country House - The Great Escape (1995) I can't wait to buy their new album " The Magic Whip " tomorrow
True story: I was a big Blur fan in the 90's, especially understandable because I dedicated the 80's to XTC. Fast forward to the late 2000's and my teen brings home the new Gorillaz record on vinyl. I loveee it as much as she does. Fast forward again, to the late 2010's, when I discover Damon Albarn from Blur is the mastermind behind Gorillaz. Thus proving that Mom is truly always the last to know 🤷♀️
Aw, The Universal. One of my favorite music videos ever. Props on making a Blur list in the first place. One of my favorite bands, and as such, I couldn't choose a favorite song. It changes based on the time and mood I'm in. Lately, "Lonesome Street", "Oily Water", "You're So Great", and "Coping" have been in heavy rotation on my playlist.
Had been listening to Gorillaz for years. Never took the time to actually sit down to listen to blur, though I love Albarn's vocals and lots of bass. Time to lose myself in more music roflmao.
Parklife has to be Blur's very best album, and, This Is a Low is my very favorite song of their's! It has gotten me thru many hard times and a fucked up break-up. Thank you Blur! Charmless Man and The Universal from The Great Escape are my favorite videos though! I love the Clockwork Orange influence on the latter!
How I like to list blur's best work: Top 3 overrated songs that are still enjoyable: 3. Girls and Boys (this one isn't that overrated, it really is a fantastic track) 2. Parklife 1. Song 2 (this is such a hit for being so cynical) Top 3 songs that never fail to make me smile: 3. Good Song 2. Ong Ong 1. Blue Jeans Top 3 songs that make me want to cry: 3. My Terracotta Heart 2. Badhead 1. Ice Cream Man ANgery songs: (man I'm getting lazy) 3. Parklife (again) 2. Beetlebum 1.Trouble in the Message Centre I probably missed a bunch of songs, but no one will read this anyways. Fuck watchmojo and everything they stand for, Hitler did 9/11.
“Girls & Boys” was my introduction as an American. It got pretty decent airplay on music television alternative hours. “Song 2” was their mainstream breakthrough a few years later, but it leaves me cold.
Where is the Top 10 Beatles Songs? I think it's about time to do it! It should have been the first made!!! I know i would be a hard list to do since they have so many amazing hits, but it would be really interesting, c'mooon don't make us wait no more :/
1 - Charmless man 2 - Boys n Girls 3 - Country House 4 - She's so high 5 - The universal 6 - Parklife 7 - Coffe n Tv 8 - Beetlebum 9 - Theres no other way 10 - Song 2
10. Charmless Man 9. Under The Westway 8. Coffee and TV 7. You're So Great 6. To The End 5. Girls and Boys 4. This Is A Low 3. Blue Jeans 2. Tender 1. The Universal Honorable Mentions: On Your Own, No Distance Left To Run, Country House, There's No Other Way, Sing, She's So High, Ong Ong, End of a Century, Parklife, Beetlebum, Song 2
Song 2 only as an honorable mention?? I get that it's a fairly non-complex song but you have to understand that it's easily Blur's most internationally successful song.
Only 2 songs from 13. I think this was one of the most iconic albums of the 90s. Mellow song? Bug man? This album is masterpiece and needs more credibility.
HM: On Your Own, Bang, Tracy Jacks, For Tomorrow, Blue Jeans, To The End, Advert, She's So High, End Of The Century, Bad Head, Best Days, Fade Away, Bad Day, He Thought of Cars, Out of Time, Lonesome Street, Chemical World
Some rather strange choices in there. Under the Westway, You're So Great and Fool's Day over songs like End of a Century, Out of Time and especially For Tomorrow, which is one the fans' top favorites. Regardless, I'm just happy you finally posted this video I've been waiting so long for. And on the new album's release date. Nice one!
I agree with the #1 actually, and you managed to get some other good ones like This Is a Low, Tender, and Beetlebum. And thanks so much for giving you're so great an honorable mention, it has emotional meaning to me despite being unknown
My Personal Top 10 Is: 10. Parklife 9. This Is A Low 8. Song 2 7. I Broadcast 6. Thought I Was a Spaceman 5. BeetleBum 4. Girls & Boys 3. New World Towers 2. My Terracotta Heart 1. There Are To Many Of Us
10. Fool's day 9. Trouble in the message centre 8. Beachcoma 7. Country house 6. Beetlebum 5. Out of time 4. Tender 3. Sing 2. Song 2 1. Girls and boys
If I were to choose which song deserves the first position, I would definitely choose "Coffee And TV", which happens to be my favourite song by Blur. The lyrics are so deep and meaningful! I do doubt that there's any other band who can write a song as deep as this one. Not even the Beatles, who are my favourite artists, had ever written such profound lyrics. Here's my list: 10) Song 2, 9) This Is A Low, 8) Beetlebum, 7) Under The West Way, 6)Tender, 5) Girls And Boys, 4) Parklife, 3) Charmless Man, 2) The Universal and, last but not least, 1) Coffee And TV. Honourable mentions: To The End, She's So High, Bugman, No Distance Left To Run, Stereotypes, Villa Rosie, Out Of Time, My Terracotta Heart, Lonesome Street, Bang, There's No Other Way, Fool's Day, For Tomorrow, Turn It Up, Blue Jeans, Country House, Death Of A Party, You're So Great, Badhead, Jubilee and Sunday Sunday.
For me: 1- Tender 2-Music is My Radar 3-To the End 4- Thought I was a Spaceman 5- Crazy Beat 6- Mirror Ball 7- Good Song 8- There Are Too Many of Us 9- Entertain Me 10- Jets BY NO MEANS I CLAIM TO BE A BLUR CONNOISSEUR
My favorites.. 1. Miss America 2. Gene by Gene 3. He Thought of Cars 4. For Tomorrow 5. Beetlebum 6. For Tomorrow 7. Best Days 8. Battle 9. 1992 10. Country House
Popscene doesn’t even make the honourable mention section?! Scandalous!! But it’s difficult to pick individual songs with Blur. I suggest newcomers go to the albums (Blur, Modern Life is Rubbish, Parklife and 13 especially) to immerse yourself in their true, beautiful wonder 😎 I’m shocked that Sing is missing from these comments. Oily Water, He Thought of Cars and Go Out too - such beautiful tension and wondrous noise in them all. Which is where Blur get very special indeed.
Special thanks to our users Opst3r, couplandz, Saviano Perry, Thea Cosico, Leonard YongJin Park, Nana Amuah and William Andrés for submitting the idea on our Suggestions Page at www.WatchMojo.com/suggest.
My (probably unpopular) top 10: 10- This is a low 9- Stereotypes 8- The Universal 7- Popscene 6- Beetlebum 5- Mr. Robinson's Quango 4- Sunday Sunday 3- There's no other way 2- Coffee and TV 1- Trouble in the message centre
These are my personal top 10 Blur songs (please don’t slate me if you don’t agree) 10. Girls and Boys 9. Parklife 8. Song 2 7. Magic America 6. Sunday Sunday 5. There’s No Other Way 4. London Loves 3. Jubilee 2. The Universal 1. Country House Honourable mentions: Coffee & TV For Tomorrow Charmless Man Bang Chemical World
My list 1-live forever 2-don't look back in anger 3-supersonic 4-wonderwall 5-d ya know what I mean 6-slide away 7-stop crying your heart out 8-some might say 9-stand by me 10-cigarettes and alcohol
Still love Blur in 2018!!! Faves include Song 2, Tender and No Distance Left to Run. In my humble American opinion about BritPop No Distance Left to Run can go head to head with any maudlin Smiths song any day of the week . Mournfully amazing!! I wont kill myself trying to stay in your life....oh the pain....When you see me please turn your back and walk away....oh the torture of love lost is so real and palpable. Only someone that truly feels and knows the pain of love could write those words!!! Viva la Blur!!!
10.- Theme from an Imaginary Film (Parklife) 9.- London Loves (Parklife) 8.- Parklife (Parklife) 7.- Caramel (13) 6.- Fool's Day (Single) 5.- Beetlebum (Blur) 4.- Blue Jeans (Modern Life is Rubbish) 3.- The Outsider (B Side from Think Tank era) 2.- Clover Over Dover (Parklife) 1.- Best Days (The Great Escape)
The other day I just discovered Gorillaz. And there I was thinking how similar 2D and Damon Albarn are. I check out Wikipedia and I was like their not similar they are the freaking same person.
1. Battle 2. To The End 3. Caramel 4. Trimm Trabbe 5. 1992 6. Trailerpark 7. Girls & Boys 8. No Distance Left to Run 9. Tender 10. Clover over Dover, Bugman, Beetlebum, This Is a Low. For me 13 is their masterpiece, Parklife a distant second.
10) Good song 9) This is a low 8) country house 7) To the end 6) For Tomorrow 5) no distance left to run 4) End of a century 3) Coffee and TV 2) Tender 1) Beetlebum
Damon Albarn is for sure one of the most underrated british artists.
+Ηεηπγκ «Hen-Pot» 97 Underrated outside the England I guess.
+rafaelsantosx yes, you right
+rafaelsantosx I mean he conquered America with Gorillaz, but I get you
Ya right
Hen-Pot 97 I knew a day after I listened to 19-2000 in 2007 (The first Gorillaz song I've ever listened to.)
Best part of Blur music videos: Alex's hair flippy thing in time to the music
OMG TRUE
Best comment ever
YES
Beetlebum, definitely my favorite, specially the ending .
You forgot Queen
Augusto Griffi I am extremely ashamed of my mistake
Augusto Griffi fixed it
Parallax Tiger Well you should
Parallax Tiger Going to list the American bands just for fun: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, The Doors, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ramones, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Huey Lewis and the News, Hall & Oates (if they count as a band), Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Journey, Van Halen, KISS, Aerosmith, Boston, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Poco, The Allman Brothers Band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, The Doobie Brothers, Grand Funk Rail Road, Blue Oyster Cult...
If you live in the UK, 'The Universal' has been somewhat tainted by its overuse in ads for British Gas. But I'm sure Blur have made a fortune from it.
p.s. No 'Popscene'?
Ya where's Popscene?
yeah all i can think of is british gas when i hear the universal
I was about to say
huh in adverts??
@@Br1tp0pp yeah, in a British Gas advert I believe, for years the strings were so overused. Not anymore though ?!
Damon albarn is so underrated tbh
Murdoc Niccals
Ironic coming from Mudzy. xD
Murdoc Niccals I’m glad he’s not very mainstream though. It’ll ruin the comfort of listening to his music. Anyway T H E B A T H
god has spoken
Also the entire band
Dave is underrated
I love The Universal even though it instantly reminds me of British Gas lol..
Are you saying it as the gas for cars or the British farting...
At British Gas, we know your home is your world...
Oh lol I took it the wrong ways
Daenerys Targaryen Hahahaha! _British Gas..._
I think you like Game of Thrones
Great that Song 2 didn't win, it's a cool song but not very representative of the band, on that matter The Universal is a much better choice (though I'd have picked one of the songs you put between 3 and 6 instead). But it's the favorite of the biggest Blur fan I know, so it's probably the top choice.
The honorable mentions are strange though, You're so Great, Stereotypes and Fool's Day but no To the End, Out of Time or For Tomorrow ?
Totally agree, it's like people who pick Wonderwall as Oasis' best song, it's regarded as the architypical song for them just because of its fame
Nassim Tekaya agree, I feel that at least For Tomorrow deserves a good position on this list..
Nassim Tekaya I would have chosen Beetlebum.
First Name Last Name i'd have picked either For Tommorow, Parklife or Chemical World
Personally I probably would’ve chosen End of a Century, mostly because of the fact that it gives me a strange melancholy feeling
You're so great is a criminally underrated song
I agree!!! That's one of my favorites of theirs. I also really like Best Days off of The Great Escape and 1992 off of 13
Modern Life is Rubbish is a criminally underrated album. Definitely one of their best. Can't believe no song from that album made the list. To me, For Tomorrow is the most iconic Blur song
The fact that this list is made by Americans makes me feel a bit better
Canadians, but I guess you could mean North Americans
Play-a-maker
The guitar and drums of For Tomorrow immediately puts scenes of London with double decker busses, beige classical architecture and red phone boxes in my mind, a true British song if you ask me
I'm missing "She's so high"... and "Popscene" I guess.
Damon Albarn is a god.
No, he is god
Elevon Egos That's what he said dumbass.
Jbskif you're the dumbass here actually
Murdoc is
ThatBenchScrub 64 Kudos
Not a single song from Think Tank? At least Out of Time and Good Song could have been an honorable mention.
TheObviousBritish Funland It's not considered a proper Blur album as Graham was only on one song and Damon had much more creative control
***** Personally, I think that Ambulance is their most beautiful song.
+Gabriella Farinelli the whole album is amazing!
Sydney Vernon
I know I got it on vinyl. Fantastic cover art too!
The more outrageous thing is that nothing from Modern Life is Rubbish! wtf
if you're not into Blur, oh, you're so wrong...
Ah fifa 98
I know right?
No wonder why Song 2 was robbed.
10: Stereotypes
9: The Universal
8: There's no Other Way
7: Out of Time

RapedFish PlasticOnTheCeiling advert and blue jeans are fuckin epic!

Calum Forbes completely forgot about that song, it's a banger!
Love that song
I think Blur are pretty underrated because the Damon Albarn the people knew is from Gorillaz
I’m so glad I had this band in my life as a 90s teenager and was lucky to see them a couple of times. 🇬🇧
I'm sorry but no songs from "Modern Life is Rubbish"? No For Tomorrow!? Beetlebum should be 1, perfect song
9 years later I couldn't agree more. Perfect song.
NO DISTANCE LEFT TO RUN ???? COME ON!!!!!
Jaiz gronchero ikr it's like my favorite song of them
The Universal is absolutely my favourite song from Blur, totally deserves the top place! But I think Sunday Sunday is also brilliant and should place here too.
Difficult to do a top 10 list of the best Blur songs. The album "13" alone would make one already.
My Top 10:
10. Tracey Tracks (Parklife)
9. Slow Down (Leisure)
8. Sunday Sunday (Modern Life Is Rubbish)
7. Good Song (Think Tank)
6. Under The Westway (Single)

I love how they named Come Together in absolute defiance of the beetles
What a band, still here listening to them in 2021

"for once. Damon Albarn isn't the main attraction." TRUE xD
+Tom Kelly in what minute he says that?
When he is talking about parklife.
🤣🤣🤣
Today blur is releasing a new album. Nice timing mojo :)
Yeah it was probably done on purpose
Coffee & TV #1 for me (but I'm brain dead, virtually)
I'm shocked that To The End didn't get in.
They did that on purpose
To the End doesn't even make my top 10 in that Parklife album
Aw, The Universal. One of my favorite music videos ever.
Props on making a Blur list in the first place. One of my favorite bands, and as such, I couldn't choose a favorite song. It changes based on the time and mood I'm in. Lately, "Lonesome Street", "Oily Water", "You're So Great", and "Coping" have been in heavy rotation on my playlist.
THEY DID IT.
THEY ACTUALLY DID IT.
YES! A MILLION TIMES YES!
I can't believe no tracks from Modern Life were mentioned. That's their best album
More honorable mentions:
- Ambulance
- Battery In Your Leg
- Caravan
How can you not have a song from Modern Life is Rubbish?
It's not their best album
olra the exposer
For Tomorrow is a Blur classic though, to me it’s as timeless as Parklife and Country House
Or think tank
ooga booga Wrong.
Blue jeans is my favorite blur song :c
Where's _Sing_ by *Blur*? This is their best, damn you!
Moozy Mathers at least This is a Low got a mention.
I know right on train spotting but couldn't make it on watch mojo
Moozy Mathers That song is my favorite too. I suggested this video expecting them to put "Sing" in the list at least like an honorable mention.
+Moozy Mathers Sing is awesome, but is a B B-side
+rafaelsantosx I thought it was from Leisure?
You guys forgot to mention songs like End of a Century, For Tomorrow and Tracy Jacks. Personally, I felt these should have been mentioned.
Good video. Here's a couple of suggestions for the future..

Song 2 only as an honorable mention??
I get that it's a fairly non-complex song but you have to understand that it's easily Blur's most internationally successful song.
Lyle .G
I think this is his/her personal selection.
My top 5
5 - Coffee and tv
4 - ghost ship
3 - no distance left to run
2 - beetlebum
1 - to the end
Only 2 songs from 13. I think this was one of the most iconic albums of the 90s. Mellow song? Bug man? This album is masterpiece and needs more credibility.
Hearing Beetlebum in concert is the best thing that happened in my life

Marian Ortega i can't discard this comment for some reason so I'll type
hi
What good content on Mojo? Is this a year ago?
One time my class was playing a game where we guessed bands based on songs and my teacher played Song 2 and I screamed so loud.
Nice one!
Ngl I’d personally rate those three over your choices (ok maybe not for tomorrow) but that’s just me
10. Ong Ong
9. For Tomorrow
8. Girls & Boys
7. Out of Time
6. Beetlebum
5. Parklife
4. Tender

Hell yeah, "Coffee and TV" doesn't get the love it needs!

2. Beetlebum
1. Bugman
The Great Escape is my favourite blur album
I agree with the #1 actually, and you managed to get some other good ones like This Is a Low, Tender, and Beetlebum. And thanks so much for giving you're so great an honorable mention, it has emotional meaning to me despite being unknown
Happy they finally did this, but I'm a little upset that Sing and For Tomorrow weren't included

6. Thought I Was a Spaceman
5. BeetleBum
4. Girls & Boys
3. New World Towers
2. My Terracotta Heart
1. There Are To Many Of Us
The Magic Whip is brilliant, not a single track that couldn’t be a single
Pure Competizione ...I mean, Thought I as a Spaceman isn’t fantastic, but I somewhat see what you mean.
@@rivaldealer__ That's honestly one of my favourites, admittedly probably too long for a single though.
Pure Competizione it’s just a little boring for me, but I respect your opinion 🤠
@@rivaldealer__ Yeah it really is quite out of the ordinary for Blur.
10. Fool's day 9. Trouble in the message centre 8. Beachcoma 7. Country house 6. Beetlebum 5. Out of time 4. Tender 3. Sing 2. Song 2 1. Girls and boys
I agree with everything except country house not being in the top 10.
I have waited soooooo long for this list, and the wait was worth it.
If i'm being honest the self titled would probably take up most of my list

9- Entertain Me
10- Jets
BY NO MEANS I CLAIM TO BE A BLUR CONNOISSEUR
MLIR is my favourite album by Blur. I like to listen to "Colin Zeal" just to hear Coxon rip into his guitar.
My favorites..
1. Miss America
2. Gene by Gene
3. He Thought of Cars
4. For Tomorrow
5. Beetlebum
6. For Tomorrow
7. Best Days
8. Battle
9. 1992
10. Country House
Anyone else happily surprised that they have this video.
Popscene doesn’t even make the honourable mention section?! Scandalous!! But it’s difficult to pick individual songs with Blur. I suggest newcomers go to the albums (Blur, Modern Life is Rubbish, Parklife and 13 especially) to immerse yourself in their true, beautiful wonder 😎
I’m shocked that Sing is missing from these comments.

Nile Webster Biblical.
Nice list, shame the band was no where near as good as Blur.
Viva la Blur!!!
the magic whip is going to be so awesome
