shubunkins, comets, common goldfish, and fancys don't get along and are not compatible tank mates. the single tailed goldfish varieties harras the fancy goldfishes and out compete them for space and food. I have a shubunkin who did the same to all five of my fancy fantailed goldfishes...black moor, lionhead, red telescope eye, ryukin, and redcap oranda.

actually had to separate my shubunkin from them and place him all by himself inside a 20 gallon tank.
