      One of the very first SP episodes was actually a similar theme, "Weight Gain 4000". Cartman saw an advertisement for a bodybuilding supplement showing muscular men and decided to just keep consuming it, thinking it would make him strong. As he got fatter and fatter he just kept believing he was just putting on muscle mass basically.

      Best weight loss plan imo. Can drastically lose weight in a few months if done and planned correctly. That's what I did, and now I can take it easier and just watch my calories now that I'm not fat.

    From what I've read and tried, when you keep your carb intake low, your body begins tapping into your stored fat reserves. Proteins help to build muscle which burns stored fat. Fats and fiber help keep you feeling full for longer. I set myself a calorie limit and slowly began a keto-like diet, and so far lost about 25 lbs since August. I think the "feeding window" Ethan talks about is just a natural step, especially if you stop eating around 8pm so enter a fasting state while you sleep

    Keto and intermittent fasting for the win! My hubby and I decided we needed to make a change last year after the birth of our son and that's what we did. I lost 70lbs in a year and he lost around 50lbs. You need to count your calories, stay under your carb limit, and eat right. It's not all about bacon and cheese, there needs to be balance. But seriously, it works! I guatentee if you stay in a calorie deficit, no matter what diet you're on, you WILL lose weight. It really is that easy!

    *Little keto guide for anyone interested*
    A number one rule in general life is don't mix carbs and fats in the same meal. Carbs spike insulin and prep the body to absorb nutrients and a whole load of that fat.
    But If you're going to do keto, get a calorie/macros counting app. I use myfitnesspal.
    Perfect aggressive keto is around 80% fat, 15% protein, 5% carbs. Set your max calorie goal to about 1600 kcal.
    Be careful with calories as fats are extremely dense in calories so you need to keep count.
    Try to be smart with your fats. Try to go for more nutritious fats like avocados and macadamia nuts, however you will end up making the fats with things like cheese and butter, don't worry too much. Switch to using organic coconut oil to cook in. Mayonnaise is your friend.
    Keep your gut healthy with things like full fat greek yoghurt or Bulgarian yoghurt if you can find it. Adding cold milled flax seed can be good source of fibre. Also fermented products like kimchi can be good.
    Don't eat fruits, its all sugar. No root veg.
    Stick to cruciferous veg like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus etc.
    High omega 3 meats like salmon is fantastic.
    Replace milk with unsweetened almond milk, get one thats fortified with calcium and B vitamins.
    Buy keto sticks you pee on to monitor your ketone levels and know when you're in ketosis. That's when you will just start destroying fat.
    Drink LOTS of water. You will start pissing way more because your kidneys will no long hold on to excess water. It's very important to embrace the flushing and hydration meme, you're avoiding any risk of kidney stones and literally flushing fat away.
    Don't be afraid to salt your food, this will keep your sodium levels correct.
    Take supplements for Magnesium, potassium and omega 3 to replenish other electrolytes you will be deficient in and to keep your omega 3 levels elevated.
    Never eat past 7:30pm.
    Practice intermittent fasting 2/3 times a week (no breakfast, no food till lunch. Only water or black coffee).
    Cheat days can not exist. It will cancel out any positive effects and knock you out of ketosis.
    It will take a few days to enter ketosis as your body needs to run out of its stored glycogen reserves first. You can speed this up by excersising.
    You will feel like shit and exhausted for about a week. Then you will wake up one day and realise you have endless energy. This is when you know its working, this is when you know you are using fupa energy and it will be glorious.
    See how you're feeling after a month. Two weeks isn't enough time to try it, you will only just be properly adapted and starting to get into habits by then.
    When you decide to stop keto its EXTREMELY important to ease back into carbs slowly. Healthy clean carbs and slowly increase the ratio over a few weeks whilst lowering fats back down. Still, don't mix the two. Where people screw up is when they gorge on carbs at the end. This will pile weight on.
    All this is from my own experience losing 30lbs and I'm still on my way down.
    Believe in yourself, test your will power, become a new human.

      @@KendallMoonchild symptoms vary from medication to medication and person to person. So unfortunately one person's experience does not speak for everyone. There's a decent chance you could end up fluffy and more depressed by taking them. Sometimes there are alternatives and sometimes there are not. Regardless I'm happy they're working for you.

    It still baffles me how people with such a huge following and that have connections to a lot of intelligent people still don’t understand that the main driver for fat loss is an energy deficit. Every celebrity or social media star either follows Keto, Vegan, Paleo, Intermittent Fasting etc... but still don’t understand that it is solely the fact they are consuming less calories than they burn that means they have lost fat.

      While your main premise is correct there is far deeper nuance to the science of nutrition and weight loss. Reducing calories will ultimately lead to weight loss however weight is lost as both fat storages and as lean tissue. The ketogenic diet maximizes the loss of fat by keeping the body fixed in ketogenesis (conversion of lipids to ketones that can be used for energy) and by reducing the loss of lean tissue by providing a constant source of essential amino acids (this effect can be enhanced by adding moderate weight lifting).

      Aggressively Amicable Absolutely, weight loss vs fat loss is not the same thing as you mentioned.
      The issue lies when people hear that the ketogenic diet uses fat for fuel. Fat oxidation is not the same as fat loss. Sure you may break down fatty acids more during a ketogenic diet, but that does not mean you are going to loose body fat. You can still be in an energy surplus using ketones for fuel and gain body fat. You will initially see a big drop in weight, not fat, because stored muscle glycogen is being excreted meaning less water within the muscle cell. Since 1g of carbs store like 2 or 3 grams of water this can amount to a lot of you were previously consuming a lot of carbs.
      The celebs I mention don’t seem to care how much of their weight loss has been fat vs lean body mass. You have Joe Rogans sober October event where some of the guys taking part mention eating as low as 1000 calories and doing hours of cardio. It does not matter what type of diet you follow, you are 100% loosing muscle mass along with fat following something like that. You then have them talking about following a certain diet for X number of days and they go out for dinner and get Pasta or that they caved because a certain food they excluded is so good. There is no reason for cutting out foods that you like 100% as you are setting yourself up for dietary failure right off the bat.
      Obviously you do need resistance training to maintain and increase muscle mass, but if actually looking at increasing muscle mass in the gym a diet full of protein carbs and fats will benefit you much more that cutting out carbs and lowering protein. Carbs may not be an “essential” macronutrient like protein and fats but it sure does make life a whole lot easier. The same as a car is not “essential” but it does make life a lot easier if you are living in the country
      The ketogenic diet does have its place as a short term strategy for helping people with epilepsy which is what it was originally proposed for, but there is essentially no benefit of using it over a diet that contains carbohydrates to reduce body fat. But many people who I personally have seen doing the ketogenic diet are not setting it up correct in the first place. They are consuming a lot more protein than is needed which could explain the reduced hunger since it is the most satiating macronutrient.
      The ketogenic or even at times a lower carb diet can benefit some people because there can be appetite suppressing benefits and they might find they don’t get a huge energy crash during the day. From what I have seen this is mainly due to people just following a pretty unbalanced diet in the first place. They eat lots of simple carbohydrates, very little protein and fibre which hugely spiked their insulin levels and causes it to come crashing down hard. There is no reason why a correctly structured diet rich in carbs, fats and protein would cause this if you structured it correctly.
      I’m not saying ketogenic diets don’t work as they obviously do as do any other sustainable diet. But the key word is sustainable. You are eliminating a lot of nutrient dense food by following this diet and potentially cutting out or reducing social occasions due to a lack of keto friendly options. I’m not an advocate of any particular diet as the word diet I think comes from a Greek or Latin word meaning “daily food intake.” Essentially everybody follows a “diet” per say as it essentially means what you eat in a day. Thanks for your reply though, it’s good when somebody replies in a friendly manner rather than jumping down your throat :)

      Right put it into an online calculator to find your caloric maintenance allowance then cut it by 350 calories. In 10 days you'll lose a pound of far

      @@gigalulmansur yes and of course cardio will help due to more calories burned..the issue people have is eating foods with low calorie and just actually doing it. Fat has 9 calories per gram so calories add up quick. Additionally, it's easier when u prep the food I have my stuff ready to eat therefore I'm not searching for anything like a bagel or sandwich or snacks

      Noah Phillips WAAAAY easier said than done. I know how Ethan judging from eating videos. He just eats mass quantity, doesn’t matter the type of food. Problem is he eats a lot of garbage if he was eating massive amounts of vegetables he likely would lose weight.

    I did intermittent fasting and keto at the same time and went from fatty to having abs. You do lose a whole lot of weight with no effort, if I'm honest.

    I’ve lost 40lb with no specific diet, other than making sure I eat 1500 a day. I didn’t lose it quickly either, it’s taken me a year, but that’s because I refused to starve myself or make certain foods ‘off limits’. I eat all the foods I want, I just account for the cals, swap out for better options and leave the carbs mainly for the morning. I still eat chocolate, cakes, fast food, junk food and have my cheat day or days. I also walk 10k steps a day while tracking everything on my Fitbit. There’s no need for anything extreme because that’s how people get eating disorders and not exasperate their obsession with food, but gain back double what they lose.

    Anyone seeing this. Keto helped him lose 70lbs because it put him in a caloric deficit. You can eat bread, fruits and pretty much anything you want as long as you account for your overall caloric intake.
    Ethan eat fruit, vegetables and protein. You can have bread and potatoes too! Do not drink your calories. Eat a decent amount of protein in each meal and most importantly learn how to track your calories accurately and stick with it. A caloric deficit is the only way anyone has EVER lost weight. (I used to be over 330lbs. dropped down to 250 lbs)

      He's said before that he was obese. I remember him lately saying that since he's lost weight he crossed from obese to overweight. You'd be surprised at the size that medically counts as obese, it's not as big as u think. That's what I learned when I gained weight

    Ethan I will commit with you! Watching this a little bit late but, I’ve always been overweight as a kid. This is my first year in college and I weigh 260 pounds and I’m about 6 feet tall. After watching this I read a little bit more and I’m committed to doing this! Zack told you within 2 weeks you would see results so I’m ready to do it with you! Starting now I will try the Keto diet, and hopefully will continue. My goal is to get to around the 200 pound range by start of spring. Let’s do it, Ethan!

    I started keto in February 2018 and have lost 105 lb since then. I've been pretty well maintaining since July this year.
    Start Weight 260 lb+
    Current weight is around 155 (on a good day).
    Now that I've been eating this way for so long, I have no desire to go back to sugar and carbs. It's hard to describe how amazing you feel being fuelled on fat. At the end of the day keto is no sugar and eating whole foods, nothing unhealthy with that.
    Way to go Zach! You look amazing!
