I care nothing about KDM, but I respect the craftsmanship that goes into something like this. The box looks gorgeous and the inserts look like they are super useful for setup and cleanup. Love the story about your grandfather. Learn from him while you can! He may not be able to do everything he used to, but he can surely pass on his knowledge to you.
It’s beautifully done :) and I call and do my best to spend time with my grandfather! He is an incredible man - I just don’t think we will have the time to build something like this - with life moving forward like it does! I am planing to trip home soon to see them and spend time with them!

The community for KD:M makes some of the best resources, for example one of my favorites: somebody made some gear card sized crafting recipes for all the gear that can slot right next to the actual gear in the binder so you don't need to go back and forth between the location and the binder.

In the beginning it was a little rough but they evolved and had a dice cam and modeling after there later episodes with it would be great. Your play through wonderland wars was great. Something like that would be great. Either way amazing work and keep at it!
That's freaking gorgeous! The bits organizers from Cardboard Wizard really look good in that box, too. His organizers are made on a CNC router which makes their quality a step up from the stuff that's 3D printed. I've got a couple of them and they're top-notch and very reasonably priced. That leather binder for your gear cards is pretty badass, too. I traded my way into a copy of KDM a few months ago and the copy I got had to have the 1.5 upgrade package applied and it was a pain for a total KDM noob like me. I've picked up the Folded Space insert. It's a pretty solid insert and the price was also quite good. Did you paint that Jesse? Looks pretty damned good.

I looked for a plastic or 3d printed token alternative, but found that the best option was the 28mm coin capsules. Now I'm debating between various organization options, though I may end up just building my own.

Very nice! Have you thought about pumping it up further? Like 3d board/terrain/player boards, premium sleeves and/or coin caps for the tokens? There is also an awesome set of tokens from Kultz for the survival actions. I mean, if you are this deep, you might as well go all in :)
I have a full set of resin cast 3D terrain, I have a core sleeved, I don't personally like the coin caps for the tokens (just my taste) - and I have bronze models. So, I have thought about it!
Finally about to receivethe gane after devouring as much content as possible for several years. Quick question what size top loaders did you get for the divider cards?
Quackalope It does look like walnut, the lighter wood is probably maple. Especially with a piece like that, make sure not to store it in a dry environment, to prevent any shrinking cracking!

Just basic ones I bought from amazon - from Ultra Pro - I did have to trim them up.

Around $1,200 - I order it when I was doing much better - I don’t regret it XD
But the real question is, what type of wood is it made out of?
Walnut I believe :) - not sure about the lighter wood or the burl piece.
