I also agree with you I think that the amazing Spider-Man movies are better than the original Spider-Man trilogy movie with the exception of the Spider-Man 2. The original trilogy have better villains but the amazing Spider-Man betrays the character of Spider-Man better due to the focus on Peter Parker's greatest character trait his intelligence which the 90s Spider-Man series featured. That's what made me fall in love with the comic book Spider-Man because some of the villains he couldn't out muscle so Peter out thought them. If you go back to the original trilogy every villain Peter simply out muscle or they surrendered. Not including the symbiote because he use his brain to figure out that venom weakness with sound that's the only time he actually thought his opponent.

The Spider-Man comics has different prefixes to mark different series, such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, etc. This duology took from that.
You seem yo have a real appreciation for Practical Effects. I would like to recommend:
1. (Werewolves) “The Howling” 1981, “Howl” 2015, “American Werewolf in London”, “Dog Soldiers”
2. (Different types of Infected/ imposter ). “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” 1956 AND 1978 - sort of a sequel/ remake. “The Children” 2008, “Village of the Damned” 1995, “The Girl With All The Gifts”. Compare and Contrast “Rec” (Spanish movie) vs. “Quarantine” American remake, however “Rec” 2, 4 sequels are very different from “Quarantine“ sequels- but ALL of them are fun to watch. “There’s Something Wrong With The Children”, and “Old People” 2022. “The Crazies” 2010.
3. For actual Zombies(dead)/ Mutants “Reanimator” 1985 and “From Beyond” 1986. The original “Night of the Living Dead” 1968. “Warm Bodies” 2013.

Emma stone and andrew garfield actually dated in real life after being co stars in TASM. But andrew wanted to settle down and emma was not ready. they had to break up. And now she is married and he is still single but they are still good friends.
I love and have so much respect for all 3 Spider-Mans and their movies. I grew up with Tobey’s Spider-Man, but I also read the comic books and know that that movie was not exactly comic book accurate. I still enjoyed the trilogy, but of course it’s very super hero grandiose kind of movies. Everybody at that time wanted a Spider-Man 4, but they decided to do a reboot for amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield. You can imagine how angry the fans/general public was about the reboot and a new actor. So since the announcement TASM did not get the support from fans. Luckily, some were open minded and gave it chance, some adored the more down to earth and unhinged take of Peter Parker/spiderman. But others found it too different and thought that Andrew is “too good looking and cool loner boy” Peter Parker..compared to Tobey’s nerdy clumsy Peter Parker. If they read the comics, Peter actually was not a geek…he’s super intelligent.. YES. But he’s more of socially awkward than nerdy..he does not have a certain group he hangs out with..he just did his own thing and was a kind dude. He’s also quite a ladies man too..well more when he went off to college. But he definitely did not have any problems with getting girls or talking to girls. He had situationships with girls before MJ..heck before Gwen. Also, Gwen was indeed Peter’s first serious relationship/first love in the comics.
In terms of web shooters that has always been canon in Spider-Man comics. Peter did create his own web fluids for his web shooters. The director for Tobey’s Spider-Man changed that cuz he felt was more interesting if the webs come out of Peter’s wrists. So when Andrew’s Peter creates his own web fluids/web shooter..the general public was confused cuz they were so used to Tobey’s version of Spider-Man.
Tom is a great balance of both Peter and Spider-Man, but to me he obviously is the most young and looks high school one out of the 3. So you literally watch his version of Peter grow up in his journey as Spider-Man from avengers to his own standalone movies.
Each actors have their own charm and strengths, but for some reason I felt more drawn to Andrew’s Peter/Spiderman more. Maybe it was his acting..maybe it’s because he was so excited and passionate about this role. He actually is a comic book head and loved spiderman growing up. You can feel that radiating off of him in these movies. He truly deserved a third movie to just bring closure for his spiderman. But I digress… everybody still prefers Tobey and I get it.he is the OG. Some might say they prefer Tom because of the buildup and how it intertwines in the marvel universe. There’s some who prefer Miles Morales cuz of Spider-Verse. Nobody is really going to agree cuz everybody has a different preference LOL.

The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth
AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of this movie
Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise again
