My neighbor has a 2019 rubicon 500 and a 2020 rubicon 520. We raced them and the 520 won by half a atv length or so, maybe a tick more. Still wish they would have gotten a little more power out of them.
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Jad Bowen thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
So same exact bike kinda sad that Yamaha and Honda won’t get in the v-twin atv game they have proven to me that they can make reliable engines with the 1000 pioneer and 1000 yxz
I picked one of these up a month ago. I put 27 inch cst ancalas on it, I know they're not good mud tires but I don't ride in that much mud so I don't want good mud tires. I don't need first gear at all, it will spin from a dead stop in mud or snow in second, I cant tell them from stock power wise and I gained top speed as it still hits the limiter easily. You probably wont need a gear reduction to run 29's or 30's on the 520's. The bit of extra power compared to the 500 is right off idle, this doesn't show up in drag races or with stock tires tho.
I like the 520’s power on my 520 rubicon, I don’t use the bike for racing I need low Rpm torque and it’s got all of that I prefer a lower compression low reving motor they last forever
Will you let me know if yours starts squeaking on the front? I got a 2020 Foreman 3 weeks ago and about a week ago it started this squeak on the front. Not real sure what it is yet. The dealer I bought it from is an hour and 45 minutes away I'm trying to avoid that drive especially if it's something simple.
I bought a 2021 dct. Wish I didn’t. Nothing but problems with shifting. Been in the shop 5 times now and this time it is serious enough they are potentially giving me new machine. Hope they do. If my kids weren’t driving it I would request a foot shift so I don’t have to deal with the dct drama.
Last fall I purchased a showroom new 17 foot shift Rubicon for a very attractive price. After your review I’m glad I didn’t go with a 20. Sounds like they didn’t change a lot
Mudpuppy we had some fire issues with ours not sure what’s going on, stick heatsheild was getting so hot ( we live in the uk be so much worse for you ) that it was igniting the grass Around it. Honda have told us it’s going to be bringing out a revised heat shield in august for the 520 not sure if the American bikes are affected or just EU
I love my 520 I just have some 27 589’s right now but I got buried in some thick clay and was able to spin tires in 2nd gear with diff locked while by buddy was smoking his belt on his 570xmr in 2wd
At 7:20 I wonder if this comes off? I’m just sitting here saying to myself don’t do it, don’t do it; mud puppy breaks it off. I had my 520 for less than a week and I noticed this shit. Curiosity got the better of me, and I broke that shit off as well. It’s held on by two coarse thread screws that are between your colored and black plastics.
I was hoping for a little more out of the new rubicon, not impressed at all. Think I'll get a leftover one before waisting money on a new one also, also what are your thoughts on a can am outlander 450 max 6x6? They are the same price as a Rubicon here in Canada.
New 520 makes said to make 4 more hours and 5 more foot lbs than The old 500. The cam they put in it is better for low end torque and they put the cast knuckles on because of durability.
Mud Puppywell sorry from 28.7 to 30 hp 1.3 but there was a different can suposadly put in but I know for a fact that they changed the mapping on the computer for low end power.
Hi Mud Puppy I have a 2013 420 with power steering and tried the same bike with tracks. The power steering could hardly handle turning the tracks, in fact it felt like there was none. Then i tried a 2019 foreman 500 with power steering with tracks and the difference was really noticeable...vey easy to steer even at low speed. Can you give me some feedback or specifications on the improvements made to honda ps. Are the newer models with ps, especially the 420 more suited for tracks? Some say the kodiak 450 has a more powerful ps..??? Thank you
Actually that front storage is great i keep my phone in there when i ride and i was going down an incline to cross a creek and it went under for 15 mins because the front end got hung on a log and once i got it out there was only a few water drops
I dont even own a quadbike nor will own one soon, but yeah this was quite informative and now im curious what is the little plastic thingy at 7:40 LMAO !
Any DCT problems ? I have a 2020 rubicon and experiencing shifting problems when in electric shift mode. Dealer cannot duplicate or offer a solution to fix problem. I Should have bought the foot shift.
Long story short. Had lots of shifting problems with my 2021 dct. Got a software update at 890 kms and it started shifting amazing. However. Damage was done in the gear box while it was shifting badly and I now have 1140 kms on it and it is back in the shop with some major problems. They are giving me a new machine. If you haven’t got the software update. Get it. And make sure they check the tranny if you feel like it’s been shifting hard.
Scooter be Me i have a set of 27’s on my 350d and I like them man. Surprisingly don’t beat you to death on the trail, but definitely a bottom grabbing tire.
7min 36 sec mark is the best part of this entire video !!!!!!!!! I laughed entirely toooo hard at this !!!!! Sorry for you luck bud !ahahaha Why did you feel the need to keep pulling !?!?!!?!?
There are so many things. Everything you listed but most importantly five times lower gearing. Two more gears. Much better bearings ball joints and suspension bushings. Better shocks. More ground clearance. Way less prone to overheating. Easier to snorkel. Way simpler plastics. Easier to work on. Cheaper. The Rincon is really 10 years outdated
It’s beyond me why anyone buys a Honda. The grizzly or kodiak 700 is just as reliable and way more capable. I just bought a new quad a few months ago and the Honda is stupid expensive and half the bike.
@@MudPuppyOffroad a 1.5mm shimmed primary helps a whole lot on all the Grizzlies. Will turn 30s and feels like it does on stock tires with a 1.5mm shimmed primary. Honda and Yamaha both make great bikes in my opinion.

45mph top speed? My king quad goes 74mph
the speed has more to do with the gearing.

Hey, you could put some gloves in that little fron compartment. The radiator might warm them up if they're cold and wet.
Yes I put my gloves in that front compartment and some tools as well. Very handy!
So same exact bike kinda sad that Yamaha and Honda won’t get in the v-twin atv game they have proven to me that they can make reliable engines with the 1000 pioneer and 1000 yxz
Honda v-twin engine with shaft drive
Motor still a little bit lazy.... well yeah that's how they are reliable... not enough hp to break shit. Lol j/k not j/k... nice bike :)
Arick Hook accurate.
They really need to improve these engines. So boring when I ride my Honda’s. I need... Pizzazz!
I love them but won't buy one until they make it faster, I don't live in a swamp. I'm in Arizona.

They may be conservatively powered, but for reliability, nothing beats a Honda.
Can’t wait to see how it performs with 30s, 31s or 32s on it
It’ll be snorkeled and have 30s next video 😂

I have a 2020 420 rancher and I don’t really like the dry box because when I get my radiator relocated kit it will close it off
actually they have foreman with footshift without powersteering
Not a Rubi
Do you know if the 520 is just a big bore kit on the old motor? If not do you think the big bore kit on the old rubi would be better than the new 520?
No bud it’s a remodel based on the same principle but all new if that makes any sort of sense 😂
DukeWhite04 its basically a big bore kit yea with a new cam but everything else in the engine is the same

Yeah. I don’t like that grill either..hope they change it next year. Planning on getting one then
Honda's are built for longevity. I bet it's better on fuel now.
What about the Rincon? I have heard they ride better and are faster, but of course not as good for working.
Very outdated three-wheel drive and super high gears.
The stick stoppers on the front a arms are a little different with the 2020s

Mud Puppy well around here they are 11-12 thousand and more for the deluxe model.
The fuel economy on the Honda can not be matched. Grizzlies are pigs on fuel. That's a big deal if you do alot of hunting.
