It's funny how safe all the communities that gathered around OSU were. Like, OSU kept getting targetted and is even notorious from the 2017 r/place for holding their ground, but this year's alliances pushed them even higher. They defended all the indie games that gathered below them and the anime that joined them on top (and Australia too, which took a hillariously small spot to its left), helped to rebuild the Star Wars art when it was griefed by xQc and even had a prominent player clown on him in a vc on stream. That community of dot clicking weebs simply has powers beyond our understanding.

I was in the German category, we actually had a couple allies that we helped defending. Belgium and France for example or when a splinter cell of some Germans tried to push through the SuperStonks,we helped to rebuild them as well.
Meh it was alright. Sure, in the highlights it looks like a big dramatic battle, but in real time at grunt level it was click a square, choose a colour, then wait 10 mins till you can click another square, and meanwhile, you watch your previous square get turned back to what it was before. Kinda really just made me realise how insignificant I am in the scheme of the world, and that if you want to effect change, and you're not a normie, you need to come to power first and get all the normies on your side before you can really do anything.

Funny, around 3:07 the American flag (top left under the Turkish flag) was forced to relocate, so the starting pixel for their new flag was the newly opened (1776,1776), at the bottom right. Truly perfect.

Sooo, let me see if I understand it, r/place is an event on Reddit that happens once every year, when communities put a pixel to make a draw, and every 5 minutes you can place another pixel. There's a lot of bots, raids etc but each person was able to fight for their image until reddit just enable the white color, making that the people self destruct their art and finish this event right?

Lots of bots and raids is accurate, most images wouldn’t be so prevalent without bots. Aside from the annual bit (this is the 2nd time they’ve ever done it for their April fools event the first time being for 2017) you pretty much got it
