Thank you very much for your sharing this video with us! My mini aussie does not like to take baths, we live in NYC and it always was a battle! Today we tried putting a mat in the bathtub, we tried the plastic bottle, air drying him before and we even got the same shampoos and conditioner. Let me tell you....life changing!!!!!! He loved his bath and never moved, he smells fantastic and looks super white!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
great video!! great tips for shampoo and cond. do you normally leave the hair so long on the back legs of your dogs?? i go to town on my dog with a deshedder rake! LOL will these shampoo and cond. actually help to soften that wiry hair? he is no show dog . just my little buddy!!
Yes I leave the hair on the back of the legs as long as possible. The breed is supposed to have longer furnishings there than the rest of the body and I personally like it too! The isle of dogs shampoo is not meant to soften the hair as they aren’t supposed to have a soft coat. The plum silky ones will give a softer result if you want to use those all over instead of just the furnishings.
@@sandollaraussies thanks so much for replying. i already bought the hose attachment, and both of the plum silky. looking forward to giving him his first bath once it all comes in. ( not spraying the head was a great tip)
Hello, I have been thinking about ordering the tub you use in this video, but after doing some reading on the product it seems like lots of people have mentioned stability issues and have even had the legs of the tub break whilst bathing their dog! that news gave me a lot of pause so I was just wondering if you have experienced any stability problems with your dogs during use, as our biggest dog is an Aussie herself, though she is not a heavy Aussie by any means. I love the tub, and would love hear your thoughts! Great video btw, this is super helpful for those of us trying to get into grooming and bathing better!
The only time it shows any sign of instability is when they jump into the tub, it does wobble for a second until the feet are in place with the weight but after that, it’s solid! I had an older one for many years that I kept outside and although the color faded from the sun, never had a problem with it falling apart. However, I will say I never take it apart so maybe that’s what is causing the issues for other people.
No, cutting the hair short won’t really help with heat. The best thing to do is the remove as much of the undercoat as you can with a high velocity dryer and brushing. That way the skin can breathe easier but is still protected from the sun.
Product doesn’t matter. If you don’t dry it all the way every time it gets wet, it will never be straight. I have a drying video that will show you how to do this. If after a few weeks it still isn’t straight, you can use a straightener before show time.
Aussies are not a breed with size varieties, so there is no miniature aussie; but there is a breed called Miniature American Shepherds but unfortunately breeders with consistent temperaments are hard to come by right now. You can check the ASCA breeder listing and find breeders from there who can provide proof of health testing their dogs and doing something with them in each state :) You can also go to shows to find breeders nearby The ASCA also has a page on what more to look for in a breeder

what thinning shears would you recommend for an aussie. to help cut his ears

@@sandollaraussies Thank you so much for your response! I ended up purchasing this tub and so far it is working out very well for our dogs.
Do you ever cut her hair very short. My aussie has a lot of hair and he gets over heated in the summer.

@@sandollaraussies thanks. I do brush him often with an undercoat brush. I'll keep doing that.
Can you link where you got the nozzle attachment
Melissa Deitrich it is there 😉
I know you did a year ago, but what are you shampoos? I found the first one
If you go to video description it has them all there with links on where to buy them too
@@sandollaraussies I did finally figure it out. Lol. On my bargain buy: pet edition, the next day had those exact supplies on sale. I was so excited.
What shampoo do you use on the head?
I know this video is old but do you use the cold water from the hose???
90% of the time, yes because I’m in Florida. If it’s cold out, I will attach to utility sink from the house for warm water.
My Aussies hair is curly, mostly where his hair is above his tail. Do you know products that will make his hair straight?

How/where do you bathe your dog in the winter when it is cold?
We live in Florida so it doesn’t get that cold
Where did you buy the shampoo sprayer?
Amazon, link is in the description
Hi! What do you feed you dog?
Meagan Smith Purina Proplan 30/20 Salmon with a raw food topper.
Sandollar Aussies Okay!
What is the Tun called
Tub 🛁 *
@@alyssaanguiano159 It’s called a booster bath! Link in video desc 🙂
Are you also a breeder? What state are you on?
Yes, in Florida
@@sandollaraussies Hey 👋 . I’ve been looking for mini aussies not sure if you sell them or have any available atm ? I also live in Florida
