    Daniel H. Neilson is Associate Professor at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Daniel H. Neilson is a monetary economist, specializing in the structure of the monetary and financial system. He is the author of Minsky, a reading of the works of the theorist of financial crisis. He also writes Soon Parted, a newsletter about central banking, monetary theory and fintech. Dan teaches economics classes that touch on money and banking, debt, international finance, China’s financial system, economic transition, and the construction of authority. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University and a B.A. in mathematics and music from Bard College at Simon's Rock.
    Iñaki Aldasoro is Senior Economist at the Bank for International Settlements. Iñaki Aldasoro joined the BIS in October 2016. Previously, he worked as a consultant for the European Systemic Risk Board (2015-16). He also shortly worked for the European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund (both 2013), Bruegel (2009-10) and in economic consulting in Argentina (2006-08). Iñaki holds a PhD in economics from Goethe University Frankfurt, and also did studies at the Kiel Institute (ASP 2008-09) and the University of Buenos Aires (bachelor's and master's in economics).
    Perry G. Mehrling is professor of economics at Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He was professor of economics at Barnard College in New York City for 30 years. There, he taught courses on the economics of money and banking, the history of money and finance, and the financial dimensions of the U.S. retirement, health, and education systems. His most recent book is Money and Empire: Charles P. Kindleberger and the Dollar System (Cambridge University Press 2022). His previous books include The New Lombard Street: How the Fed became the dealer of last resort (Princeton 2011) and Fischer Black and the Revolutionary Idea of Finance (Wiley 2005, 2012). Perry is well known for his renowned MOOC “The Economics of Money and Banking” produced with the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
    This talk was part of the 4th Annual --Money View Symposium, hosted by YSI on 3-5 February, 2024. The Symposium showcased the work of scholars and practitioners that make use of the money view, ranging from economists to lawyers, politicians and social scientists at large.
