Also, Ferret, you know how you accidentally killed one of the warchiefs in zone two and had to schedule another raid? You should try combat draining warchiefs when they're low hp. If it'll finish them, like a combat execution would, it'll brand them like normal. It'll also completely skip the QTE finisher cutscene, so it's pretty handy. The only thing is that you have to grab them again after branding them to issue another raid, but that's only a couple extra seconds, much faster than the alternatives.
for the first (53:55) and second (55:17) wave, can't you simply throw the uruks down the cliff, if that's an insta-kill? (grab, then hold the direction towards where you want to throw) btw great commentary. i wished this would be run at a GDQ, but your commentated run almost makes up for that.
It may be a long time LUL, but actually there may be some ways to optimize this run. At least I learned and tested, u can actually cancel the jump animation from forge tower, and all the involve this kind of jumps. It's hard but it's some sort of spamming the jump button while about to hit the ground. Planning on speedrunning it btw, ty for these vids owo
BandannaDann I have Livesplit running on a second monitor and capture it with OBS using a black chroma key. I think OBS has a livesplit plugin, but it's not as good as the standalone program.
FearfulFerret I tried my first run of the game today without memorizing the route or reading much of the google doc and got 3:08:30. I guess that's my punishment for not paying enough attention... still not awful for my first speedrun ever.
+Pink Dreemurr This is an old comment but why does there need to be a "final boss". It's just a plot device to end the game be it difficult or not. People need to hop off the "QTE bossfight" bandwagon, think for yourself.
MOΛΩN ΛABE QTEs are just unsatisfying. Shadow of Mordor was amazing and when I got to the final boss I was super hyped up because all the boss fights before had been so fun. Then it ended up being "mash these buttons and yaaaay." Incredibly unsatisfying when the main selling point of the game was the gameplay.
very nice vid and very good commentary. And the fact taht you did it live while running was even better,
i can only watch 4:21 min
ME TOO!
WTF?
Damn your commentary is great. I'd love to see more!
I heard Merlin Mission and immediately thought of those book quartets they threw in during The Magic Treehouse.
um what happened to the rest of it?

is the video only 5 minutes long for everyone else?
I'd like to start speedrunning, what do you use to capture splits? Is it an OBS plugin?

Final boss being a QTE still bugs me.

Pink Dreemurr The ending shouldn't matter then.
MOΛΩN ΛABE Lol sorry I wanted gameplay instead of mash 3 buttons i guess.
Pink Dreemurr Literally the entire game. The ending does nothing to effect gameplay other than wrap up story elements.
First?or Second? or Third? which one am i????
