    Love them both and the Pedal also. They are so competent and professional but also so relaxed. Can laugh about themselves and you can see how they enjoy the session and making music. You are my heroes!

    What a fantastic demo of the Street Driver 48 & interview with Frank Bello , I am of the same age group of Frank and Tim and grew up having the same bass heroes this interview was like hanging with some good buds talking bass.
    I also love the Street Driver 48 , Tech 21 has knocked it out of the park yet again.
    I have one on order to add to my Tech 21 Collection of pre amps and pedals, each serves a purpose, and I love having the variety of pedals and pre amps available on hand.
    Thanks as always, guys.😀

    Considering the fuzz of the first tone, the tonality was still intact, impressive, I may say.

    Frank has his own special tone (obviously) that we all know - much like back in the day I could hear a new Van Halen song that I've never heard but could tell it's them (before the lyrics start) by the crack of Alex's snare (which I love).

    Great tones! One suggestion: would have been really helpful for live use if the filth button and, especially, the dirt button had been stomp switches, so they could be easily foot stomped on / off when needed for parts of songs. Not sure how tricky that would have been to incorporate?

  • @NocturnalOverlord

    Sounds killer! Between the Street Driver 48, and VT Bass DI, which one has the most distortion without losing the low end?

    • @Tech21nyc
      @Tech21nyc  6 месяцев назад +2

      There is no loss of low end with any of our pedals. For the most distortion, we'd recommend the Street Driver 48. Thanks for asking!

      @@Tech21nyc Love the Sansamp BDDI btw! Also own the VT Bass rackmount, and the GED 2112 rackmount which are both killer and part of my studio rig. Just was curious about picking something else up to use live with the option for more distortion. The Street Driver definitely sounds up that alley! Thanks for the response!

    sort of off topic Question for Tech 21 NYC,
    i am getting a Mop Top Liverpool ( for guitar ), and i was wondering if there is any Cone Mode Filtering in the speaker circuit ?
    and i know that people can barely hear cone modes....it's interesting, like a drum or cymbal type of overtone series, inversely super imposed on a stringed instrument.
    i just wish there was a way to turn that up or down, and like select between filtering 15" cone mode overtones, or a 12", or a 10"..........i just wish i could adjust that.......i know that's weird, but what if it's neat ? ....the thing is, i Don't know if anyone has completely figured out that overtone series yet .... it's not as simple as string overtones.
    and maybe people don't need to be able to adjust that ,
    but "what if" increasing cone mode filtering, had the psycho-acoustic effect of making people feel more like they were hearing an actual guitar or bass speaker ?
    maybe it does that, or maybe it just sounds sort of interesting ... do you understand my unknowing intrigue with this ?
    whatever the case....the notch filtering would make an instrument more transparent in a mix....just that is worth something there.
    i mean you guys understand notch filtering.
    but does anyone know how to calculate that overtone series ?

    • @Tech21nyc
      @Tech21nyc  9 месяцев назад +1

      The speaker emulation in the Character Plus series is analog. It is voiced and optimized for each individual pedal. Each pedal has 3 band active EQ that is after the amp and speaker emulation that allows you to adjust the tone to better suit your application.
      Because our speaker emulation is analog, it can work seamlessly with impulse responses if desired. If you have any further questions please contact our customer support team. info@tech21nyc.com

      i like the instantaneous-ness and low power consumption of solid state analog, the form factor is of course remarkable, but that this will work in every scenario for me, makes it a miracle.@@Tech21nyc

      i can hear the 5AR4 type sag, and the minimal negative feedback of the AC-30 somehow comes across in the demos too... do you know how someone feels when they finally find their amp? .. that's mega.@@Tech21nyc

    Tech 21 NYC,
    are you there?

    • @RulgertGhostalker
      @RulgertGhostalker 9 месяцев назад

      i have a Rulgert Ghostalker signature concept.
      it's one envelope follower, with two envelope depth controls individually modulating bit depth, and rate, and a wet dry blend ... it's a dynamic bit crushing transient shape-er

    • @RulgertGhostalker
      @RulgertGhostalker 9 месяцев назад

      visualize one of those 3.660" x 1.692" boxes .... 3 knobs on top, ( no foot switch ), input , output, power.
      But, it also has a 4th jack, on the input side ... a smaller 3.5mm jack ( maybe... just so it doesn't get confused )
      that jack is switched, so it takes the envelope input away from the input jack...........so that the envelope signal can be routed from further up the chain ( allowing the effect to to get a clean envelope signal, if not early in the chain )

    • @RulgertGhostalker
      @RulgertGhostalker 9 месяцев назад

      and it is because it's a transient shape-er, that i don't think it needs a kick switch ... one could A/B with the blend...it's part of the tweak.

    • @RulgertGhostalker
      @RulgertGhostalker 9 месяцев назад

      the Klon has nothing on this thing.

    • @RulgertGhostalker
      @RulgertGhostalker 9 месяцев назад

      probably label the knobs Depth, Rate, Blend ....depth and rate are modulation amounts, but it's a delicate ear tweak anyway.
