I just have to say, that way to lock two flaps together is fantastic! It’s really something special, a revolutionary new origami design tool! It gives a new meaning to “raw edges.” I’ve been playing It and getting some really cool results. So thank you! It’s genius!

OK so i've seen sooooo many moving cubes tutorials and they basically all suck. I saw this and I knew before I even clicked on the video that I would be able to easily make it cause your tutorials are so freakin' amazing. Also, your creativity reinvigorated my passion for origami. thanks :(:)
Now this is one of the actual real mind-blown videos that should’ve been viral within 1 week, but YT is not doing its job right (instead the recommendations always give us weird/repetitive ones) this video should have hit 1M views by now......
Wow, just a few more modifications to Yami Yamuichi's Pandora's box, and you have the origami moving cubes. Dude, you are a genius! I remember back when I used the same method to make enough cubes to make the moving cubes with tape.
Folded it and worked like a charm! Great work, as usual! Just one question: why some of the connections are folded in half (9:03)? These connections turned out weaker to me.
this fold in the connector is what really locks the units together. Once connected, this fold and the fold from the other unit will block each other from moving away. They should be as strong as the big ones; a weak connection usually happens if you invert the fold in some of the connectors, make sure they are folded to the right direction
@@sunscreech i just want to say that i like the moving stuff and the boxes,triangles,balls,..more then the others like animals and that stuff. Just to let him know
WL You should really take it as a compliment. I feel if someone said~ make more of this~ I would think they very much like my content and would appreciate more videos like the one they would’ve commented on. The way you responded to one of your comments was rude in my opinion. Remember I said in my opinion.
AMAZING you are the best, I learned from you too many figures several years ago! Good luck in everythin you do! This is very very very very very very very cool !!!!!
I've seen this model before on an origami article I read! Although there were many more modules than this one, and it could change four directions! Overall this one looks and works better! Great job Jo! Keep up the great work!
Meanwhile, I looked at it and thought: If i have a giant paper... i can make a present box... XDD Enquanto isso, Eu olhei e pensei: Se eu tiver um papel grande o suficiente eu posso fazer uma caixa de presente... XD
Nakashima-san, you are a genius! Thank you for sharing you talents with the world! Question: what’s the principle behind are the different sizes connectors? Seems to me you’d want more surface area contact when tucked in, for a “stronger” hold? I guess I should attempt to make it and then I might answer my own question... 😅 Thank you.
I like the larger connector better, but it's not possible to make two of them on the same side of the cube. But what really locks them together is the little fold at 8:47 and 9:03, so the smaller one works very well too even with less surface area
Hello I have Been watching your videos for about a year now and I LOVE THEM but I would like to request that you do a origami elephant 🐘 and I would appreciate it if you do. And I would like to hear what you think and if you will do it
On all the videoes with cubes, it has always been a bit hard for me, when you connect the 2 ends with eachother, when you make 1 cube. When you put end and top together and push a Little, then mine doesnt come all the Way up to the top, and om thinking it’s because of the mg of my paper. How thick is the paper that you are using to make the cubes?
IT WORKED!! so when i first did this my papers were pretty thin and it didn't work at all but i did it again with relatively more sturdy papers and btch it workedddddd😭😭😭😭
Perhaps you messed up in making the connections. If you pay close enough attention, he makes about half of them different to fit together with the other halves

Can I ask what type of paper you use or recommend for models like these?
he use origami paper
You can use any square shaped paper
Well almost any paper, napkins and toilet paper won't at all
You still make origami videos. I’m impressed. I’ve been watching these for years.
