I just love how this deck hits all the flavor wins and still manages to have a decent win rate. I mean, you have the planeswalker who collects and tells stories, a giant party, and then it ends with everyone living happily ever after.

I feel super dumb that just NOW I got that Teferi's line "Trust me, you'll thank me later" is because he's a Time Mage that KNOWS your future self will thank him. Also it feels kinda cute that Happily Ever After follows a Planeswide Celebration.

I really hope the interaction between Celebration and HEA was intentional because the whole plane celebrating when the king returns to make you win the game is such a flavor win.
In match 2 it's so cringy that he didn't just misplay the dovin's veto, he actually talks about it for 5min straight after that, saying how that veto was such a good draw for the opponent xD It made me boiling so hard every time he goes deeper into it >.

The synergy between planewide celebration And happy ever after is one of those fantastic “hidden” interactions that, when you recognize that the planewide celebration is representing Ravnica’s happy ending, had to be intended and left for players to find on their own. During preview season we all knew there are a ton of powerful cards. Then we all got swept up by Oko (who IS obnoxious, especially turn 2) and forgot about the massive number of other powerful cards. Tier 1 Standard may end up being dominated by 2 or 3 decks, but tier 2 standard is going to go 2 dozen decks deep. I wouldn't have put Happily Ever After in the solid tier 2 category, but it looks like it might belong there for better or worse.

Can't you still cast sorcery spells as though they had flash regardless if Teferi is alive or not? Therefore you can still cast Planewide Celebration on end step and not in response to them killing Teferi.
Thanks for brewing this. It's a fun looking deck I can actually play. Arena seems to like giving me these janky cards as pack rewards for some reason. Was starting to get mad I've opened a playset of Happily Ever After (and Planewide Celebration before that) before getting something good like Once Upon a Time. Now I have a reason to play them.
Happily ever after being triggered by a planewide celebration seems oddly well-designed... i wonder if they planned that interaction specifically due to the immense flavor
At first I thought on a Esper control-style deck with KTGC and Fae of Wishes + Sphinx of the Guildpact on sideboard, but the Planewide Celebration fits the deck perfectly!
I really like that new sac land fabled passage. Using it and saving it as the fourth land drop seems consistent enough and even using it before then can really save you not having the correct colour mana. I looked at its price on your deck list link, and I just thought, "actually I think it is probably worth that price (relatively speaking)".
Teferis +1 is an effect that persists post death so you can still hold onto your sorrcery untill end step so you can evade an opponets sorcery speed board clears. This of course would turn on the opponets counter spells so it was probably best just to play planar celebration. Before tef died. This line of play os just something other can consider if there playing against something less blue counterspell centered. This is a lesson i learned the hard way vs field of the dead scapeshift back when it was in standard.
Seth you saying dovins veto was an issue hurt my soul since ur veto is naturally uncounterable. But on a more positive note this deck was actually surprisingly awesome! And I live the flavor of celebration being the main helper for happiness
The Celebration/Tamiyo cycle gives this deck unparalleled late-game stamina. Winning even after the the Planewide got Ego'd is a testament to the crazy legs this build has! Only downside: not a cheap build 4 Standard play. Could even get words once this vid makes the rounds, 'cuz that was basically a viral ad for *Happily Ever After* playsets.....
I've been playing this since I started MTGA over a year ago, I have the win condition in a black/white control deck with no creatures or planeswalkers ever hitting the field. I didn't know anyone else had used this win condition.
After watching this, it seems like Glass Casket is the one thing I would change about this list. Just didn't really do anything for you. Would Witching Well or Golden Egg be good artifact replacements? Both can sacrifice themselves, and help you dig.
So far in Theros, I love the scry lands with Risen Reef. I cut a 4th Casket for Thassa. Blinks Paradise druid so she sticks, but even better, flickers Risen Reef/Leafkin Biggest change though, Dream Trawlers instead of Krasis. I've only been able to do one so far, but proves to be effective. Usually gains more life for less Mana. Harder to kill, and can potentially draw us the same amount of cards. Another alteration I do: divine arrow instead of Warrant. We should already have sorcery due to Planewide, and it deals with questing Beast
I so wanna sleave this up for FNM, looks super fun. I don't think I could pilot it as good as you did Tho. Man this deck can grind. Great flick dude :)
Oh set, my sweet boy, it hurts so much everytime you cast Planewide in response to something trying to kill Teferi. The "sorcery as instants" effect lingers until the end of opp's turn, as my love and care for you lingers with every video you do. s2

Great video and a great deck, but Leyline of the Void can make it hard to achieve the conditions of six permanent types, and will be hard for the deck in general i think, since the synergy of Tamyo and Planewide celebration is also pretty impressive.
Seth. Teferi's +1 ability is still in effect even if he is removed. YOu can still wait till EoT to cast your stuff if you used his ability the previous turn.

Why no sphinx of the guildpact? It is hard to remove, 2 cardtypes, all colours and same CMC as planewide celebration. It's also a big flyer, maybe alternate win-con?
You know that you can cast sorcery spells at instant speed after ticking up with Teferi even though he isn't on the battlefield, right? A couple times in game 1 you cast Planewide Celebration when the opponent was about to kill Teferi instead of waiting until the end step.
Very nice deck, but in order to avoide losing once planwide is not a option, maybe you could play 1 mountain and one swamp, search then with fabled pasage and get fabled back from grave with Tamriel

Would it make sense to trim one copy of Happily Ever After as well as some top end for 2-3 copies of Arcanist's Owl? It is great for finding Happily Ever After and counts as an artifact, and is a fairly relevant body. The mana base would have to be adjusted.

Just so you know teferi doesn't need to be on the battlefield for you to still have flash. It's a blanket effect that doesnt care if hes alive or not. Scapeshift used to abuse that. In fact you could let it die then eot cast planewide and get it back plus 3 other modes

I'm guessing it was intentional. The flavor seems too good for it to be an accident.
I had never taken notice of Planewide Celebration, but this card is doing some work.
At first I thought on a Esper control-style deck with KTGC and Fae of Wishes + Sphinx of the Guildpact on sideboard, but the Planewide Celebration fits the deck perfectly!
I made a similar build with Fae of Wishes to get the pieces out of the sideboard. Fae also synergizes really well with Teferi.
Part of the reason this vid was so enjoyable was just watching how much fun you were having. :)

The sideboard should have pithing needle. You keep going down glass casket, and in the matchups you do, it's good, and helps with card types.

Isn't Dovin's Veto uncounterable? So he could of countered the Sarkhan against the superfriends deck?
After having played Teferi in modern and legacy, Teferi really carries this deck.
Isn't Teferi's ability to cast Sorceries at Instant speed still applicable even if he dies? But if so why is Seth responding with the sorcery as OP is trying to kill it? Just to Dodge counterspells?

Just so you know teferi doesn't need to be on the battlefield for you to still have flash. It's a blanket effect that doesnt care if hes alive or not. Scapeshift used to abuse that. In fact you could let it die then eot cast planewide and get it back plus 3 other modes
