Another tip for those plastic cutting mats is to cut them down and use them as 'journal boards' -- ie, put them behind the page that you're currently working on in your journal or Bible journaling. It gives you a solid writing/drawing surface, and protects the pages underneath from marker or paint bleed through.

I've been a stamper for over 20 years and I am so grateful for your really practical, honest and smart alternatives. I repurpose or figure out workarounds often, b/c (it's a fun challenge, but mostly b/c the price of crafting supplies has gotten obnoxious. Your new-yupo was truly brill! Using the cutting mat as a craft sheet, awesome. The adhesive eraser to clean scissors, genius. And the honesty that the craft knives are ineffective, saved me a buck... The t-square in the stamp positioner, mind blown. Thanks for demonstrating and not just "reporting" the uses/success you had with the products. I've seen a ton of these dollar store hacks also, and I'm in total agreement with the other commenters, one of the best! I am so motivated to watch your other videos. This is the first of yours that I've seen. TFS! Their white "collage" glue is actually excellent, strong bond, near instant dry time. They also sell a pack of tiny square double sided foam tape that has 528 pieces for a dollar...

Just started art journaling this week. I went to Michael’s, it didn’t have everything I wanted, was expensive and kind of uninspiring. Also, the guy who waited on me was rude and dropped my supplies on the floor. Then I went to the Dollar Tree and I got tons more items and I felt better about the price and just found more creative and interesting and colorful things, also, the young man who waited on me, there, was sweet and very kind. Thanks for this video I’m excited to head back to my friendly and creative dollar store.

I have employed the shelf liners to lie between my mattress and the fake "box spring" on my select comfort bed which is now 15 years old or so. The cover that came with it had not aged well, so I removed that. The replacement did not stop the mattress from sliding a bit each time you get in and out of bed. I used about three packages of the liners, the bed is Queen size. Works wonderfully. I have had to adjust one of the liner panels only once in six months. My sister was having the same problem and only tried the liners I provided her to humor me. She could not believe the excellent results. This is the first time your channel has come up on my feed. I'm impressed.

Thanks Mary, great ideas here. I wanted to share that the little clamps are sold for holding fabric while sewing in lieu of pins. I did steal a few of my for paper crafting and they are very handy. As for the rulers, many years ago I bought a pair of 6 inch thin stainless steel rulers from Amazon and added a strip of the magnet sheet that I use for my dies to the back of each one. I can configure in a square like the one you purchased or use at any angle I choose. When the Creative Corners came out, I had no need because my little rulers were far more useful.

It's works for us Crafters who are interested in MANY crafts and diy ideas..simply because we can already pretty well think "outside the box" and use things as tools etc not normally intended for that..but if it is what works! for example I buy several of those screen sink traps ( they catch food ,hair,etc...) And use in a plastic small coffee tub ( the larger4" one fits perfect in it and the lid goes back on too) for a cooking oil strange after frying potatoes or non meat stuff..and I can screen out the crumbs...And keep a few cheap tea lights handy also for sluggish zippers, waxing sewing threads ( run it through as you put finger pressure, and tracks of drawers or sticking closet tracks...I spray my cheap white canvas tennis shoes with spray starch or a candle to keep them stain free & clean longer..and you can make them like new with some white liquid shoe polish..

Speaking of BOXES, does anyone know where I might lay hands on those WONDERFUL corrugated boxes with lids sold years ago by HANCOCK FABRICS for dress pattern storage? They came flat folded, but "opened" to 11 ⅞" X 7 ⅛" X 9" tall (w/Lid on); PERFECT to sit on those "cheapy" Sauder-type book cases. I've got one holding my stash of Embossing Folders; one holding extra tapes & glues; and currently one holding both my stamps (still in original packaging!) AND dies!! That one is just TOO crowded!!! I'd rather NOT have to re-do -- OR EVEN RE-THINK!! -- this set-up 'cuz right now they all look uniform & tidy (kinda important, in that I craft in my kitchen which is fully visible to other "public" spaces in my home. Thanks for any input offered.

Great video. Txs! You can also use the shelf liner as background stamp. It makes a nice clean impression and economical. Also their wooden cloths pins are great for holding edges together when glued layers of mats are not cooperating and you have gaps. You get a lot more than the metal clips and they also do not mark your paper. If you want to make them pretty line the clips with paper scraps.

The makeup brushes work really well too. I have several from the dollar store. Shaders that look like paint brushes, the ones black handle ones. I use them all the time. Dollar store is very under rated in the craft world. Their version of score tape works great, the yellow masking tape is comparable to purple tape their washi tape comes in several sizes I only use it for masking or holding dies. Their sticky notes are great for masking. I also use their foam tape. There's a ton of stuff at the dollar store you can use just think outside the box.
