    Finally I found your vlog on fresh lumpia specifically your tapioca starch /cassava flour brown sauce. Decades ago when a young teen , I learned that sauce from an aunt . I must have gone thru multitudes of recipes but I rejected their murky constarch sauce. I now have a preference for your fresh lumpia recipe. Thanks sincerely for sharing .

    When I was a kiddie, whenever my mother brought me to work, she taught in the national high school in Cebu, we ate lumpia with a white sauce that I really liked. It's this white one. Thank you.

    Thank You for sharing your Lumpiang Sariwa. Your video is just perfectly done, totally in clear English, where i can follow. I totally appreciate your tips on what types of flours to use for the best out come of your recipe. I look forward to future recipes, love this type of fresh lumpia.     Thank you Chef Rose for the recipe but before i try this i would like first to know how to preserve these wrappers coz i intend to make them a day before wrapping the filling. Thank again Chef for the info🥰

      Yes you can. You allow them to cool. Wrap well in plastic (cling wrap) and then in foil. Keep refrigerated. The following day, steam for 2-3 minutes to make them pliable again. But I personally prefer to make them fresh. Less hassle. Less waste.

    Thank you for your video. It looks so good and you’re very thorough. I can only find canned.Ubod. Other than draining it and cutting it do I need to do anything special with it? Because I know it’s in a brine. Do I need to boil it first?

    You can get that consistency of the brown sauce if you use starch, just put enough not much so it won't get thicker...

    Can you make the wrapper ahead of time?

      Yes you can make it one day ahead. Cool. Wrap well in cling wrap. Put in the refrigerator. Thaw without taking it out of the cling wrap before using.

    Tanong po, sa wrapper gumamit kayo ng cornstarch at apf. Ano po texture pag may cornstarch kadalasan po kasi apf lang po gamit

      The combination of flour and cornstarch will give you the perfect texture for the lumpia wrapper in terms of taste and pliability. It also does not break easily when you wrap and roll.

      Madali talaga ma panis itong wrapper. Dapat mo gawin on the day na gagamitin mo. Madali lang naman basta sanay ka na.

    Can i make the wrapper 1 day ahead?
    Ang dami kong spoilage napupunit. I don’t understand kung saan ako mali. But i followed your recipe. Pls advise. Thank you.

      If you make the wrapper ahead, you need to wrap it in a towel or cloth the following day and steam for 5-10 mins to warm it. The reason your wrappers are easily torn could be because they were too thick. Make it as thin as possible.. The thicker the wrapper, the less pliable it is. By the way, I do not like making the wrapper a day ahead. I like them made fresh.

    hi chef, what if all purpose flour not available, they only have plain flour, self raising flour here.

      I have not tried using self rising flour for lumpia wrapper. I think it will work but I am sure you can find plain flour there. That is all purpose flour.

    Mam pag cold na po yg cassava flour hindi po kaya maging watery sya pag lumamig? na try ko kc yg corn starch nag tubig sya kaya im using flour for my fresh lumpia business

      Cassava starch is a form of modified starch and it does not become watery when cold. That is why I like using cassava starch.
