Incredible incredible work. These teachings can save so many precious years, that would be otherwise wasted on bitterness, self pity and resentment. Life is rife with tragedy. Acceptance, forgiveness and letting go are tools that help us get through the journey. Love is the healing balm that makes it all worth it
Hi Lisa, I did not understand what you meant...this is not the cause of my humanity?? English is not my mother tongue. Please could you explain for me?
When hunter-gatherers, we experienced the same recognition of vulnerability. Hiding the fact of personally experiencing death may have contributed to callousness. Manipulation to hide it, even from ourselves , as you can infer from the two traits, have led to the increases in those two, as well as increase in deception itself. While introducing the traits in this comment may seem inappropriate to those who desire avoidance of exposure to and of ourselves, my point is that our worst traits have source in the very avoidance of uncontrolled suffering, tragedy, pathos. Kindness and love may have arisen coeval with selection for courage to face sorrowful events. From courage, of course, comes, learning, knowing how to overcome, and the exuberance we see and feel in sharing, friendship, life.
