Im not black however i am a indigenous south asian guy with afro hair and 6'6 so you already see where this is going. Theres a lot of shit that goes thru my head when im crossing a road to a trail and even when i get to the trail im looking out for bears bees and neo nazis lol.
This is so true! I love the outdoors; however, we as Black people in the US are always concerned about our safety and, not just how anyone would take safety measures when going out. We are concerned in a way that will prevent us from participating in outdoor activities if we don't have the numbers or if the area is too rural. This is the same fear Black people have when driving in certain areas while on a road trip or in the city; we also try to stay on the interstate and not take the "scenic route."
I’ve have a group of hikers and we’re all black women!!! I hope no one ever stops ANY OF US to ask about hair or anything else that references our ethnicity that’s not ok! It’s completely out of pocket! Run ask Google!!!

I’m just not sure how we unite when all we do is put light to seperation on EVERY SINGLE FACTION OF LIFE. Hikers are hikers. Get over yourselves. Really. I find it hard to believe people are pulling you over on a trail to check your gear and don’t even get me started about hikers asking about your hair? Lmfao. GTFOH. Let’s file that under “Things that NEVER happened”.
the fact that you’re questioning her experience proves her point lol. people pull black folks over for the most pointless reasons all the time so how does that sound improbable
What a load of tosh …l went hiking only the other day in the Yorkshire Pennines around ingleton to a village called “ Emmerdale”….went to a pub called the Wolfpack and l saw loads and loads of multi cultural people milling around in those hills and dales ….hahahaha

The Great Outdoors belongs to us all. I'm training for the Shenandoahs now. ^_^

We need to see more Latinos too. I hike and its true barely see POC.
OMG that must be sooo tough for you. May I recommend the wilds of Chicago?
@@whalefish83 I dont know if your trying to insult me I am From Chicago and I am Latino.
@@sarayuki8540 So, isn't it a nice change to get out into the hills? The few places where you can relax...if the bears don't get you that is!
@@whalefish83 What's good? Got other sh*t to say?

Next thing they'll be claiming a Yeti was racist to them.
@@whalefish83 well of course. If math is raciest than we KNOW the Yeti is

Now i have to lock my bike up on trails as well?
Thanks, blacks.
and...you just proved her point !
The kind of blacks who hike are not the bike stealing type.
You are extremely ignorant.
