I see this too often. Scan what you dump in your hand. She was scanning the scoop with no idea what was in her hand. It isn't often but there could be several targets detected and you can throw away gold because there is a nail in the scoop as well.

Why not film at the start of the season for a change? Every episode of every reality show whether it's gold, fishing, or whatever, ALWAYS "we're running out of time", "the season's almost over" etc. Stop trying to add drama to a non dramatic thing just to make it more 'exciting', because it doesn't. If it was a wallpaper hanging episode, it would likely be "we have to make this last roll stretch before the paper factory goes on holiday or we won't hang our target number of rolls"
at 4:12 you can see the gold was put in the ground first before she found it, you can clearly see the ground messed with and all the loose dirt. FAKE!!!
