I realy enjoy seeing dad pass the trade along to the next generation. You can see him (and not just in this segment) teaching the boys the do's and don'ts of opal mining and enjoying it.
I knew about the opal in, sort of, veins, but I’ve never seen pineapple opal before. The colours are amazing.

In my opinion pineapple opal is the most beautiful of them all. Love watching them find these beauties!

awesome finds. but as it comes to JC, I see him as a liability. he's almost all the time injured. he's so far the only one who get's injured all the time due to the lack of concentration and not caring for safety measures. you should think about pulling him along
And JC smashed a pineapple opal AND lost opal inside the mine. He's a huge liability - unless the producers staged all of this, for dramatic purposes

It's not scripted, their stepdad is just skilled and nice to them. But he is not a magician, so they were actually lucky.

Cmon mate, don't be salty. You and I both know they could if they wanted to, that's what technology is for. Not everyone has a keen mathematical mind, some people are more focused on this thing called "real life."
You can't put people down based on mathematical prowess when calculators have made that prowess irrelevant. "The funny thing is these guys couldn't even lift their own engine out of their car to fix it" yeah but I have a winch for that... Your knowledge and skill has been rendered invalid old man.

noone is paying near that much for these pieces. i have seen gemmy multicolor pineapples or much less. still expensive, mind you, but this is just blues. but that's TV for you.
