    This is a great example, only problem it doesn't address is what if the point of interest for internal moment or shear is before your hinge, between A and B. This works if your point of interest is after B.

    where did you get the rxn @ by 6-X/4 ?

      6-X/4 is equal to 1.5 - X/4. just divide 6 into 4 and x/4, you get 1.5 - x/4.
