    For those of us who’ve gone deep in privacy, perhaps you’d like to do some tutorials about self-hosting. I imagine most of your viewers have $250 dollars to drop on an old nuc that they can run docker on with portainer and host their own email, their own notes, their own calls, etc.
    If you do a full (but simple) homelab setup video, you could really get a lot of viewers to jump head first into using FOSS.
    Plus you’ll get tons of people coming back for troubleshooting help videos 😂

    • @PvtAnonymous
      @PvtAnonymous 2 года назад +19

      self hosting would be great, but most self hosted mail does not come without trouble. Especially since most of your mails will end up in people's spam folders.

    • @warhawk_yt
      @warhawk_yt 2 года назад +5

      @@PvtAnonymous There are ways to get around it but it’s not that easy. Its possible to fix it but self hosting your own email server for example is not easy unless you know exactly what you are doing. I think you really just have to make sure all your sent emails are verified since you will probably be sending a lot of emails to gmail users and gmail has a strict verification on incoming emails.

      the whole list is sketchy... like jurisdiction in Austrlia for FastMail? After the laws they've passed there it's a complete no-go! Same with ProtonMail which still is considered a fed honeypot by many, especially for their .onion debacle. Also everything not open-source should be gone from this list, since you have the same situation as with GMail - trust. I certainly can't take any of this seriously, knowing most of these services reside in 14-eyes countries anyway...
