    THROWS COACHES, THROWERS, & PARENT THROWS COACHES,
    We know why you’re here.
    Learning Track and Field throwing events: Glide Shot, Rotational Shot Put & the Discus throws is hard… really hard.
    It’s technical, it’s not natural, and you have to spend equal time between building up strength levels & mastering throws technique.
    For throwers and parents of throwers, you find you’re on a deserted island looking for a throws coach, and if you are a throws coach, well… you’re like a unicorn! Rare & beautiful.
    But at the end of the day, throwing the shot put and the discus is awesome!
    It’s a sport of warriors, gladiators and truly the OGs of the Olympic games.
    So why is it not more popular?
    It’s because unlike football or soccer, where you can find a congressional library of information on how to play, and there are coaches everywhere you look, throwing is more like a scavenger hunt…
    Except, you have no idea what it is you’re looking for.
    What you need is a solid, proven track and field, throws training resource to go to in order to understand
    All the technical positions.
    The key drills to perfect shot put & discus throws technique.
    Tutorials on how to throw the shot put & the discus
    and educational classes & lessons on how to coach the throws for every level of athlete.
    Whatever it is for you…
    We’ve got good news for you-
    This is EXACTLY why we built the Throwing Chain Reaction System®, or TCR for short.
    Once inside this comprehensive track and field, throws training system, you’ll be consistently getting better at training and coaching for bigger results faster than you ever thought possible.
    No more spending hours searching online for some glimmer of hope video- in fact you can enjoy training or coaching again since you now know what to do and how to do it.
    If you’ve been throwing for a while or coaching your whole life, you’ll gain so much more insight and start advancing quickly.
    Nothing is more motivating than success.
    and it all starts at Pillar 1…. oh, you’ll learn all about that inside the TCR System.

    My experience is that many beginner throwers are either sub-consciously or consciously afraid that the disc is going to fall out of their hand during the throw. That is where the tendency to get the knuckles on the rim and "cupping" the disc or too much little finger on the release comes from. The cure is confidence that the disc won't fall while it is being swung (stop and it will fall out).

    • @aretethrowsnation
      @aretethrowsnation  4 года назад +1

      Often goes beyond confidence and becomes an issue of lack of specific strength and how the disc itself is being held.

    • @realthursty4953
      @realthursty4953 4 года назад

      @@aretethrowsnation Could you expand on what you mean by "specific strength"? How strong the fingers are?
      BTW back in dawn of history when I was in HS throwing the 1.6KG disc; I used the forefinger middle finger together grip. This helped as my hands were big; big enough to "palm" the discus the way I would palm a basketball. When I went to the 2KG disc, I couldn't palm that disc. I found it better to keep the fingers apart with that disc.

    • @aretethrowsnation
      @aretethrowsnation  3 года назад +4

      The key is to get very comfortably holding and dragging the discus. Generally speaking throwing requires a considerable time commitment and everyone has their own rate of improvement. Keep that in mind. But small hands are not necessarily a limitation. Hope that helps

I feel like if I practice on grass at my local park it won’t be as accurate any tips is helpful !!!

    • @aretethrowsnation
      @aretethrowsnation  2 года назад

      All you really need is a good concrete surface. Grab yourself some sidewalk chalk measure out an 8‘2“ circle. And that’s just as good. Cages aren’t necessary unless you’re super erratic and you can’t control the discus. Ryan Crouser was dragging a portable ring to parks during the pandemic. Or sometimes just throwing off of concrete. So the concrete surface will definitely serve you well. sidewalk chalk is like $1. easy. keep learning and put into the work.

    • @aretethrowsnation

      we’d say look at your video. likely less to do with your grip and more to do with the position of your hips at release. this grip allows you to maximize the radius of the discus from the start (pillar 1) to finish (pillar 6) which is key for more “sling” and thus more distance. best of luck and thanks for commenting.

      stevespyder k keep playing with the things in this video. When you do learn to adjust it takes a bit of time. At first then discus will feel likes it’s gonna fall out of your hand but that all changes quickly (as mentioned In The video). be patient. And done the sweet spot that’s just right for you. 💪👊
