There's some ting very genuine and touching about the way you play waltzes on piano. You never fail to hit the right spot with your interpretations. They transport me to another time and place. Excellent my good man!
Thanks a lot, Edward! :-) I really do care about waltzes. I love to play waltz and also love to dance waltz. And I often find that melodies of waltzes are very beautiful especially if it´s in minor key as this Songe d'Automne. Thanks again! Thomas
This song shall be a remembrance to all the engineers passengers band and crew who all lost there lives in the icy and negative waters in the north Atlantic ocean on the RMS Titanic. May all their souls rest in peace
This song always sounds like the most bittersweet song choice Titanics band made that night, it feels so happy yet so mournful, like it’s being played at a funeral.
I can just imagine, the stern rising into the air, the screams, the rocking lifeboat on the cold, still ocean while the enormous Titanic's lights sparkle in the distance.
Hi Thomas, i have been enjoying your back catalog . . real treasure here in your playing and the vintage music. . . thanks my Viking friend and stay safe in these perilous times .. . jeff
The reasons of which I love this song, its the mystery. No-one remembers the lyrics and the people that did have all died, the lyrics were known to have fit in perfectly and without the waltz' lyrics seems sad hopeless and for even the people that don't know its history, it makes them feel sad. meanwhile, with lyrics, it was known as being incredibly jolly, and was also the last song performed while the Titanic sank. another reason is that its a song my grandfather would play often and I have also heard my father play it often (this time with a CD) in the mornings, and something about it simply just makes me cry without its beloved lyrics..
sorry about my scatterbrained comment, I tend to forget what I am thinking mid-sentence, it also doesn't help that I have incredibly bad short term memory, sorry about my nonsensical comments as I tend to forget what I am writing/reading mid-sentence so it's hard for me to correct what I wrote later on.
Hello and welcome! Sorry for my late reply. I appreciate your words. Nice of you to give this personal perspective of this lovely music. Music affects us all in one way or another. Wish you a nice week ahead!
The last song played on Titanic, according to the radio telegraphist who was the last to leave the ship on this unfortunate night. Does anybody has the lyrics along with this beautiful melody?

@@NordicKeys I gotta say: I'm a little surprised at the fact that this piece of music has lyrics. I honestly can't tell if they would improve it or not. Though admittedly - after translating them from Bratwurst-speak to English - they do match the tone and atmosphere of the music quite well.
