සමහර වෙලාවට අපේ මල්ලිගෙනුත් තියෙන්නෙ හරිම කරදර තමයි. මම එහෙම කිව්වට ඉතින් ඒවා හරිම සුන්දර කරදර. අද ඔය පරක්කුවෙලා නැගිටලා උදේට උයපුවා දවල්ට කාලා හවස් වෙද්දි හොඳටම බඩගිනියි කියල එයාට මසාල රහට බත් එකක් කන්න ඕනි කියල කරන කරදරෙන් බේරෙන්න තමයි ***බත් එක හදන්න පටන් ගත්තෙ. යාලුවොත් එක්ක රට වටේ සවාරි ගිහින් ඇවිත් ඒ කාපු ජාති ගෙදරදි හදල දෙන්න කියල කරන ඇවිටිල්ල තමයි අපේ මල්ලිගෙ අලුත්ම කරදරේ. ඔය කෑමත් එහෙම එකක් තමයි. හැබැයි මොන තරම් හදිසියෙ හැදුවත් අඩු පාඩු නැතුව කන්නත් ඕන. මීකිරිත් දාපු සලාදෙකුත් ඕන කියල ඔය ගියෙ කිරි හට්ටියක් උස්සන් එන්න ගුණදාස මාමලයි දිහාට.
එහෙ තමයි මේ ගමේ මී හරක් පට්ටියක් තියෙන්නෙ. මීකිරි වලට අපි හැමදාම පනිවිඩේ තියන්නෙ එහෙට. මී කිරි වලට තියෙන ඉල්ලුමේ හැටියට මම නම් හිතුවෙ නෑ හවස් වෙලා කිරි තියෙයි කියල. බැරි වෙලාවත් කිරි හට්ටියක් තිබුනත් ගුණදාස මාමා අපෙන් කවදාවත් සල්ලි ගන්⁣නෙ නෑ. ගුණදාස මාමලත් එක්ක දුරින් තියෙන නෑ කමටත් වැඩිය ගමේ ගොඩක් පරණ උදවිය අත්තම්මට එහෙම බොහොම සැලකිලි.
මම ඉතින් මී කිරි තිබුනත් නැතත් කෝකටත් කියල කොලපාට සලාදයක් හදන්න ඕන ජාති ලෑස්ති කරල තිබ්බා. මට සමිතියට යන්න පරක්කු වන හින්දා එයාටම ඒක හදාගන්න කියල ඉක්මනට බත් එක හදල දුන්න නම් හරිනෙ. මල්ලි කියපු ව්ස්තරේ හැටියට ගෝවා මල් තෙලේ බැදල බිත්තරත් එකතු කරල හදන මේ බත් එක මෙච්චර රසට එයි කියල මම හිතුවෙම නෑ.
අමු තක්කාලි, බෙල් පෙපර්, කොල පිපිඤ්ඤා එක්ක කොල ඇපලුත් දාලා මල්ලි හදපු කොලපාට සලාදෙත් දැක්කම බත් කටක් කන්න කොච්චර ආස වුනත් ආපහු ගෙදර ඇවිත්ම රහ බලනව කියල හිතාගෙන තව පරක්කු වෙවී ඉන්නෙ නැතුව මං ඉක්මනටම සමිතියට දිව්වා.
