Sloan is a strong vocalist. He sounded a bit nervous in the beginning. Vocals a little shakey, but he really warmed up and finished strong! Great performance
Exactly, nerves probably. One of their strengths was the vocal harmonization. Really picked it up at 2:29 and on. Wish Ed and Les Hall would get together and tour again.
@@GabrielXDrumsshut up and accept the joke at face value, stop trying to think deep into a roast. anyway, he looks like the sort of guy to crash a highschool party to steal the liqour
he is doing so much work playing this song... the guitar parts are pretty tricky and this is not an easy song to sing either. look up a guitar cover of the song... and hes killing it. Ed is such a boss. 99% of people would have hired a guitarist to do this lol
I mean I love these guys to death and damn right about the vocals his singing is crazy but I’ve seen a lot of singers play much more difficult guitar parts while singing lol that riff is not hard tbh
The drummer, Brian, now plays for DM Radio. There was talk about a reunion show with the original members, but Ed was not able to commit. We locals here in Columbia SC are hoping to nudge them back on stage after this covid stuff stops.
I literally had NO idea this band was from my native city till just now. I had no idea this song was probably made 15 miles away from my home when I was one. I’ve lived in Columbia my whole life and never knew. So cool!
Dr. FeelGooD Mobile Gaming They were bad ass and the way he can sing and play lead guitar is beyond awesome. Unfortunately they have broken up. He is singing Christian music after finding God and getting sober. Good for him though ❤️
so lucky i got to see this band so many times back in 04. tony's backing vocals and DJing was a HUGEEEE part of the sound, and you have to just love his harmonies here! so few bands sound good on live TV and this sounds just fantastic.
I commend all singers out there that can play guitar and sing at the same time and can make it sound so perfect.... 🙂👍 I swear to God, it is very difficult to do, at least for me.
One of my all time favs!! I just started listening again, I had forgotten about them, yeah, I just slapped myself. I get these lyrics so much better today. Cuz I am an addict too. This song hits hard now, gonna get the lyrics on a poster, hope my hubby reads it....cuz I never meant to be so cold, either. It goes with addiction....instead of Dear Cocaine, it's Dear Opiates...on harm reduction, forever...
This band was so damn good m. Ed Sloan is incredible talented and underrated. Every album they put out was incredibly genuine and original. The actual song architecture was so good. I wish they’d put out a new album.
This song will always be iconic in my book. Came out at a unique time in between middle school and high school for me. Song had just the right amount of umph that every time you played it loud on a stereo system it was audio heaven. Most relatable lyrics of a lot of alt metal/alt rock songs too.. classic question of identity and am I making a difference, I think that’s why it’s stood the test of time.. and real musicianship too… none of the guys are out to fake flex to to steal the limelight from the other members.. Perry Farrell from Janes comes to mind. Nothing but guys rocking and enjoying what they do. As it should be.. unmotivated by greed, money or having to say “hey look at me I’m better than the rest of the band”. Stoked cross fades back. Can’t wait to see the comeback 🤘 🎉
My band beat them in a Battle of the Bands in Rock Hill SC about 2 years before they hit it big. I still have the flyer from that show. We all hung out afterwards. They were pretty chill.
Saw these guys at a little club in KC back in the day. They were the middle slot between Submersed and Alter Bridge. They sounded killer. This ‘04 or ‘05. Something like that. Pretty decent butt rock.
those guys had a case of the nerves at first but they killed it by the end. really great stuff, having two lead vocalists in a rockband is really awesome when it works as well as this.
These guys are the physical embodiment of the early 2000’s
i used to love this fucking band. lol my email was cfskater89
These guys are my favorite Post-grunge band
Yes, and better than so many from that era who got way more play than these guys.

Tru that. Awesome performance
Definitely flat in the first verse and chorus, but he put it together after that.
Did get better but I'm with you NERVES
Exactly, nerves probably. One of their strengths was the vocal harmonization. Really picked it up at 2:29 and on. Wish Ed and Les Hall would get together and tour again.
that’s why you should always warm your vocals up. it’s like trying to play a sport without stretching first
The back up vocalist looks like the kind of guy that gets drunk at a Chuck E. Cheese and starts a fight.
Rofl 🤣 😂 🤣
No idea what that looks like, way to assume someone’s internal world.

The way he sings 'really' at 0:43. This dude is amazing.
Try singing it "reel-uhh-lee" you can do it too

@@brianwill1090 In the actual song, the harmonies are so good on the backup vocals! That's honestly what made me look for the song.

He is from buffalo, so that makes sense.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
he's not ever overweight bro lol what mabe literally a few pounds he is not fat
probably rides a motorcycle everywhere as well.
He sounds like the lead singer of Franco (and I thought he was but then I realized that Franco is a Filipino band)

Jeff Dubia 🤣

It's a half step down from the original key in this version.
Imperfections are way more beautiful then lip synced ❤️. The singer is so talented ❤️.
Facts!
Love this band so much
I totally didnt realized they had a Lead Back Up Vocalist

My dad rebuilt his house when it burned down. Brian gave my dad some pics from the early days of the band.
