Great video, and I agree with previous comments that it's one of the better ones of this type. I just bought a used 2018 F150 that didn't have the code in the owner's manual,. You just saved me $160 and time to take a trip to a scheduled appointment at the Ford dealership. They played dumb on this hack when I called, but this was easy to do with your instruction--thank you!

Just bought a preowned f150. Grest truck. Only 1 key so i couldnt figure out the door code. Even scheduled a trip to the dealership. Came across this video and within 10 mins, got my door code. Thank you. You just earned a sub

This is one of if not the best video, explaining precisely where to find the master code at. If you buy your truck used, they generally only give you one key. Thus making it impractical to reset it with the 2 key method. Job well done sir, and a big thank you !

What is the two key method? I saw your comment and have been looking for information on this method but can’t find it anywhere
So you can turn the vehicle on with the key in a special spot and then put the 2nd factory key in that spot amd then it will display the factory door code on the screen. This way is WAY easier and no keys required.
The 2 key method is pretty easy to find videos of online, but if I remember correctly, you just have to slowly turn your 1st key to the start position but do not crank it over, let it sit for like 10 to 15 seconds (watch your dash while doing this as it will tell you information) after the time ellotted for the first key, remove it then insert the 2nd key and turn to the start position but do not crank it over. As your waiting the 10 seconds or so, your dash will be giving you information and then suddenly spit out your master door code information, so your then able to make changes after that way in this regard.
Thank you for explaining this succinctly and especially for the weatherstripping trick! Watched three videos before yours where things were previously disassembled and simply laid in place to be picked up, not unsnapped, and that didn’t explain the easy removal techniques and had me pissed off and worried I was going to snap a tab off forcing something. After watching yours, had the code reprogrammed and truck reassembled in five minutes. Glad I found your videos!

If you have both of the vehicle's key fobs, there is a much easier way to get the code. Steps are as follows: 1. Insert one key fob into the ignition and turn it until the battery comes on. (Do not start the engine.) Wait until the bell rings three times. 2. Remove the key fob from the ignition. 3. With the second key fob, repeat step 1. The factory pre-set code will appear BRIEFLY on the dashboard monitor in front of the steering wheel.
Thanks Ill make a video that way too. However if you dont have both key fobs or dont have time to go get/find both key fobs this is the absolute easiest, best and fastest way to find it.
Just for other's information, I saw this method in another video for a 2020 model, but this didn't work for my 2018 F150 XLT. It never displayed following the instructions shown, and I even played around with different views (odometer, MPH, etc) and didn't get it to work (waited for the 3 dings when you switch on the ignition, etc). If there's any specific tricks to do that for this year/model I'd be curious to know, maybe a good resource for the next person because it definitely would be easier if you have the 2 keys!

Dude just saved me some money the kicker panel was touge because the weather stripping was glued on but got the code only broke off one lil piece of plastic holder thing but it sits find back in place and went together again no problems.

Cool @Summitauto ... can you tell me what is the least expensive way to get an extra key & key fob cut & programmed for my 2018 F150?
Do a search in your area for mobile key fob guys. They are out there and a fraction of the price of a dealer.
Only cheaper way is if you know someone that works at a place that cuts keys like a big box store. You can likely talk them into cutting the key. If they don't know you they likely refuse but it worth a try. I got two keys fobs for my F150 for less than 25 bucks and programmed them myself. I think some auto parts places will do them to if you buy the fob from them.

You would have to get a new one and have a Ford store program it.
I got lucky I found my when programming a new key fob the door code popped up on the dash screen after the new fob was programmed, Great video by the way.

The tab on the kick plate will not release to allow me to move that panel to the side. It seems hinged on and slides a bit along another plastic strip running adjacent to the lower door. I'm afraid of breaking it. Any suggestions?
8mm bolt on top of the bcm and it gives you plenty of room to see the code
2020 Lariat with pushbutton start will give you the code on the center screen if you have both fobs. I can describe the process if anyone needs to know.
If you dont have both fobs or even if you do this is the way to do it

I have a 2018 F150 lariat, and when I remove the trim, it did not look the same, and there was not a unit / label with a five digit code on it
I have never not found one.
The lariat with keyless start can be obtained if you have both original key fobs...

Same issue! Were you able to release yours, and did you break anything?
Sometimes the metal clip will come off and you have to reattach it, but if you are lifting on both sides of the panel straight up it shouldnt break the tab.

Bro why don’t you just use your two slot in the cup holder … put first key in let the truck beep three times then do the same with your other key and the code will just pop up on your display .

Yes. Found it to today on 2023 just purchased used and only had one fob. Exactly the same. Loosening the 6mm bolt on fuse box lets you see it better
