Yup exactly what I thought when I heard this.... Strange but nice sounding IEM. (Completely agree with Timmy regarding the switch. IMO there shouldn't be a switch on this IEM.)
I agree. So many chifi now that has switches to turn off drivers instead of changing their tuning. Strange signature . I will try it. I like warm voices like a valve state type.
Its almost my fave but my biggest issue is that the DD and the BA+EST sounds like its coming form 2 different iems which is annoying. The Transition point where the DD crosses over is super obvous after burn in due to the body/decay suddenly disappearing. IMO they should have had a thicker filter on the BA/EST so that they decay longer or go back to Be Coated DD to match the decay speed. Maybe Im used to thinner signatures but the vocals are only slightly recessed to my ears but the thinness in the treble is potentially making it sound even more recessed. I do hope that whenever the FA19S(or however their naming scheme calls their 2years coming 3 in the making 5ba iem) comes out it will not have the same thinness. Also I hate you fiio for discontinuing the FD7. That is the single best iem fiio has made and eveything after just isnt that but better.
Lol, nice review, thank you! Makes me want to buy the set, I dig unique sound signatures, and love the fact that the switch actually shows me what ESTs are doing, though in practical terms it is a silly gimmick.
@@Gizaudio Do you think so? These switches have been around for years now even on the pretty cheap >$100 sets. Naturally, the manufacturer is inclined to draw the price higher just under about any premise, but I don't believe that this set would have been priced any differently if it didn't have a switch. Almost sure of it, for some reason.
Hi Timmy, any chances you are reviewing any of these? Quintet, some of the other simgot stuff, 7hz zero 2 and sonus? I want to see which is more technical between the Quintet and Performer 5.
phenomenal sound after 200-250hours of burn, curves is just nothink shows. sound slightly v shape, superior detailed, relaxed, fantastic bass, rich mids and electrostatic like treble. friend compared it vs old flagship qdc anole vx and both was on pair by details resolution. all other wins by fx15.
The sound signature you describe the Fiio X15 reminds me a lot like the Fibae 5. Very unorthodox tuning, boosted highs and lows with a focus on details. The biggest difference would be the mids. The Fibae5 does not sound hollow.
Nah FiBAE 5 is a very thick mid sounding set with lots of details in the bass and both upper and lower mids. FX15 is nothing like that, its more similar to H3pro but with thicker bass decay and thinner more transparent and precise trebble.
Looking at graphs the tuning reminds me of a kiwi ears quartet (both switches down) with less mid bass, I like my quartet, but I'm not too sure I'd like this one...I like my bass

What project is the cat for?
I know I shouldn't but what was the project that involves cats about? Just curious.
Strangely interesting and memorable is what I felt after the demo.

Need Video on Best "Tone" and "Timbre" iems at every price point.

FINALLY!!! FX15 THANK YOU TIMMMMYYYY 🔥
Is this the HD800 of IEMs?

I guess my biggest argument is that it could have been cheaper without the gimmick switch lol

Good thing that there are lots of stores out there where you can demo FIIO stuff.

WHAT IS THAT PROJECT?
Hello Timmy, Is Kiwiears Quintet have a green thumb in your opinion? Please reply to me, wait for a long time for Quintet full review.

We need more cats on this channel
I liked this one too.
Must be nice to actually live in an area where you can demo stuff...*cries in northern Great Plains US*
I think the est switch was a good idea.
What’s the cats project!!!!
I don't like unnatural sounding iem
$850 just to have the same technicality as a $300 IEM? No, easy pass.
CAT
NDH 30 IN IEM..
Can you review Monarch MK III 🙏🙏
So weird...
Overpriced.... 400 usd is already too much money 💰for this poorly tune IEM ... what it was FIIO thinking🤔....
Driver count, est drivers = expensive.
Wow
