The one important thing I love about the Mara is they do not allow their animals to suffer, the vet comes out to put the poor animal out of its pain and misery. Many do not bother to do this which I find unacceptable as animals are left to suffer. Thank you for posting.

That was unnecessary for the big male lion to attack the young lion. The young lion didn't even provoke the incidence -- he was not even facing the big male, and not only that, he was not even trying to do something to provoke the big male to attack and yet the big male lion just out of some kind of fantasies and attacks the innocent young lion. That was absolutely uncalled for even by lion standard.
Usually, the lion or lions have to do some kind of provocation in order to get attacked.
I'm heart broken for the young lion!
That poor young lion needs human intervention by giving a medical injection to put him to sleep for good so that he doesn't suffer the pain and agony for long period of time. So Rob the Ranger should call the vet in the area and give this young animal an injection to put him out of misery. That is the least human should do! Put him out of misery! The sooner the better!

The Lioness is clearly Disabled now, Due to the Lions biting her hind and legs .She will not survive. Poor thing.

Was not a lioness , was a male cub

The big lion went straight for the spine and broke it, he didn't even touch the legs. Poor youngster.
Usually, they do a few slaps, but don't go with such kill intent against family members. I wonder whether this cub was his offspring...

I felt so sad for the young lion . It's not just in animals it's in human beings also . Maybe every one can learn a lesson from this don't hurt another just because of not sharing your food. God has plenty to give . Its better to give then to recieve . Joy will feel our hearts and peace of God the almighty . Amen 🙏🌺

It was because the cub was another lion's prior. The new lions took over with the moms. That adult 🦁 found an opportunity to kill/maim the cub of the previous liter.

Not really. He stopped because he was done serving ‘discipline’. You can see he’s dominant & none of the rest will dare challenge him.

How often does a lion eat? Do they hunt almost every day or do they go a number of days between focusing on food. Or do they hit any tatget of opportunity that they happen upon etc?

This particular situation with a youngster of previous males coming to feed with new males I have seen rarely, new males killing on arrival is very common
