Like MB14, Robin didn't win this competition but he won our hearts. I think that's more important than winning. Robin left a mark on beatbox history and for sure he inspired lots of beatboxers.
Still in pain, the "Runner Up" title is the salt in the wounds. You are and were incredible Robin. INCREDIBLE! We were all touched by every single track you made.
I don't want to take anything away from any other competitor...but Robin did something special in this KBB that we may never see again. This man took the competition to a level that no one was ready for, Thank you Robin for everything that you gave to us, these rounds were something that only you could do.
One thing I love about all of his rounds is the creativity of where he is at. It always has something to it, even the ones just in a single room it is designed to go with his round.
If we're being honest, if the title for winner was based on the whole competition, Robin would have won by a landslide. But in the finals itself, Kristof probably deserved the win because of how dynamic his rounds were. Robin is the champion of the people though, we will never forget this experience.
totally agree. This guy makes music I would listen to on the regular. The same cant be said of any of the other guys tbh. I love the sounds they make, the tunes they pull out, but I couldn't see myself listening to them recreationally - would go off at a live event though.
I love this man, he became one of my favorites loppers in the world, his music makes me fell happy ,alive, sentimental and also makes us feel goose bumps when we hear his tracks, he is the 1rst place for every one I think.
Whenever I'm feeling empty or need a pick me up, i watch this comp. He's an artist and a musician down to his bones and it just fills me with so much love. You can taste his passion when you watch and listen to him.
Robin has become my all time favorite looper after these battles, His creativity and style are unmatched and out of this world. I simply can not comprehend his extremely high level of technical and musical abilities. Not to mention his singing. I personally thought he should have won, but it was a great event either way. All of his rounds transport you to another dimension and they are all so pleasing to the ear. Robin I wish you the best of luck with everything in the future. Bonne Travaille Robin! et a tout a l'heure!
Honestly I feel like robins rounds vs frostie was the best loopstation rounds i have ever heard in my life. I mean i have had it on repeat more than mb14 and saros songs. His last round in the kbb vs Kristoff is the only round I didn't like. It's kinda sad, I wanted him to win. :(
i loved all of robins rounds. but it was just something missing in the final for robin which made me vote for kristof in the final KBB has really set new standards
Really loved all of Robin's rounds for this event, and all the work that Brez and the rest of their team did to push the format. I hope for future online competitions people will continue to consider the visual component, as it makes up for not having a crowd and adds a unique aspect to online battles that live battles can't have. That said I felt like a lot of discussion around Robin's rounds focused on how difficult his choice of locations were most of the time. Of course it was amazing to see him take the loopstation so many places people never imagined in a competition where most were filming in their rooms. However for me the most visually interesting rounds were his first round against Kristof and his first round against KBA, because the visuals were more dynamic and shifted over different sections of the song. I'd also highlight some of D-low's rounds from the solo kickback, like his second round against Zekka when he moved closer to the camera at different phases of his round as it got more intense, or his second round against Rhythmind where he moved in front of a black backdrop after the "but I'm also a looper" phase. These didn't require a big crew to film and they were very visually dynamic and helped draw attention to different sections of the music. So yes, taking the loopstation to new locations can be refreshing and fun, but imo even subtle shifts of visuals over the course of the round can make the biggest impact. And as always music is the main focus, and the visual elements should enhance the feelings people get from the music. Robin did a great job at this throughout the competition, I'm just hoping people will take away the right lessons, and realize they can do similar things even if they're on a smaller scale.
All of Robin's rounds were great. My personal favorites: on the truck (6:41) and Lion (13:54) are simply mesmerizing. Magical moments at 8:57 and 16:30.
Robin as a whole was incredible, never heard of him before kbb but I’m a god damn fan now!! The battle with frosty was incredible and then he stepped it up even more?!?!? Unreal, first round against kba had me so hyped up, the counter at the end was too much for me to handle. Thank you robin and all other contestants for making this last month or so a very entertaining one
Finally I have a video with more than only 3min of him. Tired of my playlist with ads between each song. I really hope he'll put one day all of his songs on spotify. I would spin them all day.
Kristof won Fortis. Robin won my heart. And I am pretty sure not mine only. Kristof is an amazing artist. I do love his personal style, he developed a lot during the KBB only. But what Robin did, what masterpieces he presented - is just outstanding. Really enjoy his music. Much love and appreciation to you, Robin ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think Robin was the pillar of this competition. He brought the level up so much, he forced his opponents to surpass themselves. His creativity, musicality and originality were like no others. he also did some epic battle moves. I personnally think he should have won the fortis. Dont get me wrong, Kristof was amazing too! I'm not taking anything from him. I just think Robin was better all around. but I'm no expert nor judge. Peace guys!
You really touched my heart man it makes me cry to see runner up next to this title when it's the most beautiful 7 rounds anyone has ever brought to a tournament. Much love man
But could you imagine what the person flying the balloon thought? They can't hear the audio output, just some guy making weird noises into a machine. *Do do do do do* "I am flyiiiiiiiiiiiiiing" *Ooh* "Huuuuuuuum BAH BAH BAH BAH!" Looping in front of people only works if they can hear what you hear... Looping is noooooooooooooot for dry listening
Absolutely amazing!! I heard all of the rounds so many times already - and still i love them all so much! I really hope Robin makes them available e.g. over Spotify or something...
Robin, after I saw every round of yours, I was inspired for the next 1h30m at least. Now that all of your incredible rounds are stuck and memorized in my head, I’m forever inspired. Much love❤️❤️
Keep making amazing stories Robin. You and your team achieved something special, completely independent of how the final ruling went, and I hope you guys pursue more whether that be commercials, other competitions, or your own music. Lion strong 💪
So about his second round against Frosty.... I count a 15/15 (or 3x5/5) where he divides the melody into thirds instead of fourths, which yields a quintuplet subdivision instead of quadruplet (quarter note). This division of the measure into 3 parts can be seen throughout. Take his long note before the breakdown, for example. It decrescendos three times in one, long legato that lasts the whole measure. Most importantly, listen to the very first measure he creates with the violin (sound) before he layers. Try not to count the upbeat notes and only the downbeat notes. 15/15 The breakdown has this same pattern (as It's literally just looped over as an added layer). The reason why it's so difficult to count is because you want to count to your bop and you're bopping with a hybrid combination of downbeats and upbeats
Robin took it to the next level with his entries for this competition. Musically they were outstanding, technically excellent, but the places he did his looping were so good. In a cattle barn with dancers, in a river? Are you serious. Electrics + water = generally a bad combination. The hot air balloon, the logistics to organise the flight alone, to find a calm day, plus the cost, and to perform at height in blue sky above the French Countryside, he literally elevated the Loop Station to unseen heights. Amazing work Robin.

1.2nd round vs KBA 2.2nd round vs Frosty 3.1st round vs Kristoff 4.1st round vs KBA 5.1st round vs Frosty 6.2nd round vs Kristoff (could be a lot higher but I really don't like the mix) 7.Elim The crazy thing is that he didn't do any bad rounds. Everything was amazing and extremely memorable !

He definitely was the far more superior looper and definitely deserved the Win. He's the winner in my eyes. Christoff was ehhh, too basic.

I bet being at high altitude messed up how he wanted his vocals to sound
same with me but I like round3 Robin vs KBA the most.
I think score in final for me first round like r-k = 9-8 but secound round r-k = 7.5-9 result is r-k = 16.5-17 thats it.
It's possible he used his best rounds against Frosty, because Frosty was that tough. Dunno.
