It is CONFIRMED that Far from Home IS set after the events of Endgame. The trailer mentions nothing about Endgame as to not spoil anything (much) from it. Far from Home is the beginning of MCU's Phase 4.
Spider-Man has always been about science gone wrong. But... The MCU and magic... Even when they got to Thor or Doctor Strange they were always like "this is just another level of science that can't be understood" and they played it real close to the chest - until Ragnerok when they were just like "boom forget all that we're just throwing everything at you now, forget the realism this is MAGIC "
I wrote my senior thesis on The Prestige and The Illusionist. You saying those two movies are the same movie just brought back a whole flood of nostalgia. lol
Nah The Prestige is on another level entirely. The direction, cinematography, acting, etc, everything is better. The way that movie was edited was really the pinnacle of misdirection in movies.
Its crazy he got ASM 212, I would have never saw it. And on reddit, someone found out that there were sandman, hydroman and moltenman comic no. in this trailer.
Trailer looks good. But After the Infinity War trailer trickeries I don't buy any hints Marvel put in their trailers anymore. The MCU is notorious for shooting scenes for trailers only.
So like how are all his class mates that he's on the trip with not going to figure out that Peter is Spider-Man when they left New York, Spidey's domain, went to another continent and Spider-Man keeps showing up where ever they go and when he does Peter is no where to be found? I wonder if they will even address this. I only just thought about it. Not sure if it would be better to address it or just ignore that kind of thing.
Usually with trailer reactions I just watch the reaction then move on. Not with you guys. Loved the commentary and speculation. Big fan since the Superhero News days.
Those big things were elemental creatures they are suppose to be illusions of mysterio to get spider-man to trust him and when mysterio takes them out he takes the hero spotlight away from spider-man so when spider-man counters that it makes mysterio become more evil and then i guess it would be a climax where mysterio is BAD?
16:00 You know I think the Garfield era could have done a clone saga. His origin in ASM was triggered by his blood. Having him be cloned would have made sense in THAT world. Don't want to see it in the MCU though.

The beginning of the international Trailer is a little bit different. It's the first time I've noticed that there are two different trailers. One for the US and one International.
One of the producers of marvel confirmed that far from home takes place after endgame. He said that the movie is going to focus on the after affects of infinity war and endgame and how peter is going to deal with it and how he is going to try and adjust after those two movies.
I love how Marvel (Sony, but really Marvel) tricked the audience (myself included) into believing they were using other villains from the comics, the multiverse and multiple suits. I'm a comics fan and figured Mysterio was faking it, but I kind of hoped he was a good alternate reality version (and non-comic fans wouldn't know. But the got people speculating on the movie.
I mean, then they're not the OTP here either because she's Michelle Jones, not Mary Jane Watson. Giving her the nickname "MJ" seemed more like a fun nod to fans since they're actually two different characters. Basically, Michelle is just another Gwen Stacy and everyone's been duped to think otherwise.
Well , you automatically know that movie will be good since Jake Gyllenhaal is in it. He's like a quality insurance for movie to be good. Love pretty much every movie with him.

To me, this Michelle character is how you do the race swap for a major character. She's not Mary Jane, she's Michelle but she takes on the nickname MJ which is fine with me. It just means they'll have that similar dynamic. This way they always have the option to introduce a Mary Jane Watson later if they want to, like if we ever get to college Peter in the MCU. Maybe Michelle takes Gwen Stacey's death from the comics, who knows.

The 4 elementals are a really obscure set of villains that represent fire (hellfire), water (hydron), earth (magnum) and air (zephyr). I think they are real but theyve either been created by mysterio or hes using them to make himself look good

Here's my wild theory. Chameleon is in this film. Not confirmed but wink confirmed in casting breakdown. The guys with the semi auto gun show scene work for him. Ok Mysterio is hired by them to create a distraction surrounding these (elemental figures) fake superheroing it up. While these fantastic instances take place near world renown art museum's etc. So they can rob them blind. Fury is on to it which is why he brings in Peter. All smoke & mirrors. But maybe Quentin Beck has a background in the mystic arts like the Pangborn dude at the end of Doctor Strange...
I think this Mysterio might actually have powers. I mean there were 3 Mysterios. 2 of them just used special effects to appear super and the 3rd one actually had power. Telekenisis, some type of mind control (hence the ilusions), flyght and something else.
Also, something you guys are neglecting to recognize: it doesn't matter how good-looking Jake Gyllenhaal is, Mysterio is the master of ILLUSION. It's entirely possible that isn't what he looks like. He just chose to take a classically handsome appearance along with all the other illusions he's weaving into this.
It makes sense that Tony Stark no longer appears in this film, since if it's as some people say (that Far from Home is immediately after Endsgame) Peter / Spiderman would no longer need a mentor ... in fact, in Infinity War, Spiderman is already an Avenger, so it stops being on trial with Tony Stark.

Keep in mind that the vulture had some bond with spiderman because he saved him on the beach so I don't think vulture will have that vision of wanting to kill him. If anything he would sacrifice himself for spiderman

The Sinister Six members we have in the MCU so far are Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion and Mysterio.
