- Welcome to Workbench Wednesday at Thunder Mesa Studio - our new weekly show and tell with what's new, what's interesting, what's cool, and what's happening on the workbench and here at the studio. This week, it's a show and tell with Thunder Mesa's venerable Combine 101 - an On30 combination passenger and baggage car that was inspired by Walt Disney's favorite car on the Disneyland Railroad.
Thanks for watching!

It's amazing what a little imagineering can create. Beautiful Combine.
Went to see Walt's combine. And touched it .a great display they have Thier the guys who work there have a lot of knowledge about the car .
I am going to like these Workbench Wednesdays. That combine looks great for being 8 years old. Can't wait for the next one.

Hi Sam
This one's really awesome and amazing to watch that is a really cool scratch build.
Workbench Wednesday on Saturday morning. Cool. ;)
You guys get it early 😉
Using a decoder to control the coach lighting would elevate the dreaded flickering of the lights. Although this would allow you to get a more realistic “coal oil or gas light) flicker.
Like the new feature and look forward to more. Thanks a lot for sharing your skills and creativity with us.
Eliminating the flicker was the main motivation for the decoder as I recall.
Very nice combo car, it looks great!
Nice no doubt based on Scott Robertson's old NDAC on30 layout textured model building techniques
Scott's work was an inspiration for sure!

Great video Dave! Is your Train Shack t-shirt from the one in Burbank?
Thanks Steve! That's high praise from you. Yes, the "original" Train Shack in Burbank.
@@ThunderMesaStudio Surprised I missed this for so long! I subscribed. Is Todd still at TS?
@@stevedegaetano8188 Thank you for subscribing! I don't know if Todd is still at the Train Shack
I would love to make my own board and batten or tongue and groove walls but not sure about the right tool. Would you suggest laser engraving or something else?
I'd use the laser
Any connection on the 310 boxcar with the movie"3:10 to Yuma?
What do you look for in a high quality printer?
High dpi - at least 300, which even the cheap ones have now. My printer is a Brother MFC-J41OW that was less than $100.
