Disgusting...rolling their eyes at a mother during a school board meeting for expressing her concerns over a sexually explicit book available to children.
They associate all these books with a type of community, than claim that you're showing prejudice against that community for wanting these books removed from schools, that's how they justify it.
This is how you know they're lying about the violence they say encounter. I think the parents have exercised great restraint, up to this point.

All the parents need to pull their kids out for a good month then the people will listen to them. Because the kids get money every day they're in school and if they're not in school they don't get the funds. No funds, no teachers

We pulled our girls after second grade and started home schooling. They're in 6th grade now. Even then, I was shocked by some of the reading material for children found in the school library for young children that involved "inclusiveness" to the degree of a little boy who wore a dress to school. I'd be inclined to think these types of books are on the shelves as well. I am beyond dumbfounded that the adults on the school boards act so blasé. Lord! We are so tired! How long can this go on? 😭

So far, we don’t have that problem in schools here (yet) but with our 2nd child on the way, we want to try & give our kids as normal an upbringing as we possibly can, without exposing them to the kind of horrific material Jen was stating here.

I find this disgusting and absolutely reprehensible. My own daughter was raped by her father. It is not something that our children should ever have to go through, and NO, reading a damn library book about it is NOT going to help anyone who has been harmed in this way. HOMESCHOOL your children! I loved my public school experience but I went to a very small school in a conservative town. I graduated in 2013 in a class of 19. I cannot believe that in just a single decade the schools have become such a dangerous environment. As if the fear of a possible shooter isn't enough now we have to worry about groomers. I feel powerless but I know that's not true because of God.
Honestly, I have no kids, so I have no 'skin in the game' so to speak. But I gotta tell ya, I don't know who to blame for this, what generation. I am looking back on my childhood ( I'm 50) and this sort of thing, these topics, the very idea of having this available to children...how is this beneficial to their learning? Their emotional growth? Their mental stability? How can 1 convince me that there is some sort of positive take away after reading such things? Just listening now as an over the hill adult, I cannot find a way to incorporate it into my life in any way that does not cross the boundaries of extremely perverse. How is a child or even a teen supposed to absorb this mentally? Maybe the most important q would be, what outcome are they, the school board, expecting? IMO, this is how a school gets 'a mass event' we'll just call it from an extremely confused and hurt child or young person.

I remember reading the graphic content in George Orwell's "1984" book as an Adult recently and having not sought out explicit material, even I as an Adult was uncomfortable reading it.
Also, growing up with a critical Dad would create even more trauma and I'd probably worry even more about not only being physically harmed by him (the most my brother and I got was being occasionally spanked for misbehaving), but I would have been afraid of the possibility of being sexually assaulted or abused!

I know some aren’t able to keep their children at home, but even if 10% pulled their kids out it would be significant. Also everyone can refuse to pay their taxes …. Get a good attorney
