For now, my go-to emulations are Pulsar Massive, Mu, Smasher, and Relab LX480 Essentials. Not at all saying I won't add any more to that list. This Avalon is very special, final polish just by adding it in.

Never buy this product if you are also a mobile producer. I have a paid product, and my account has been locked because I used it in my semi, and then I used it again on a different computer when I got home. Extremely poor customer service on behalf of a company.

Dang, I didn't think I was going to be able to hear it at the beginning because eq stuff never translates well over youtube... but i could hear that 32k right away. I own the hardware version and do all my mix downs through it on the board but might have to get this just for individual tracks or when I'm traveling. I make techno and house but sure do appreciate good production of any kind. Nice video guys.
Really I m hesitating selling one of my Distressor to get a real 747...would you encourage me to ? I love the plugin, but you think the real one is a step ahead ? Thx
@@MELOPSMUSIC IDK that I would do that. I worry about the 747 being out of production and eventually these things will age and require repairs etc. Its a great unit, you can feel the warmth, the air in the EQ etc, but the plugin does a good enough job replicating especially if you are going outboard saturation or warmth in other gear.
I just love any videos with Joe. He's everyone's buddy and I'm sure we all want to hang out with him (AND Warren!). Great partnership here. Marc Nelson really rounds out the "package," as well. Much love to Warren, Joe and the gang!

I’m thinking about their Klip plugin but I’ve got the Waves L2 limiter - what are your thoughts on it? Thanks.
@@bradashlock so 2 very different plugins. The L2 is just a brick wall limiter. It's a great plugin and has been used by many over the years. A great choice for sure.
Klip3 is way more than just a limiter. It's also a saturation and coloring tool. So you can use it for a lot in a session. You could throw it on a sub group of like guitars or any instrument and give more life and vibe. But you can also use it as a good limiter.
Klip3 is way more versatile than the L2

First blind test Joe did, straight into Kazrog's site to get the 747 and a few other bits from them too. The top shelf genuinely adds air without creating a busy, fizzy top-end that most people would just immediately EQ out.

Real talk, I purchased this plug the moment it dropped. Something I've been looking for for a long time... IF you are doing RnB vocals. Unless you are using a 1083, There is no reason you shouldn't have this tool. It IS the sound you need.

This one is revolutionising my mixing customs, hence my sound. Apart from Kazrog True Iron, K clip, El Rey from acoustica, and Saturn (fabfilter) I've never heard any plugin drastically improving my sound as this Avalon emulation does... Kazrog is the real deal...

I own a gazzillion compressors but I was excited to try this out when I heard they were going to release it. After 5 mins with the demo it was an easy choice to buy it. Not just for the quality but because it's literally so good at tone shaping with Comp, De-essing, EQ, sidechain and boost, all in one, you don't need much else so it's a time saver as well.
Plus I have always wanted an Avalon unit hehehe

I have a lot of analog emulation plugins that I never had the opportunity to use their true analogue circuits , Avalon units where highly praised in the mid ‘00 s when I started working, so I had the opportunity to use them years ago and I loved them . Those highs are beautiful, even passing the signal through an Avalon it shines

Love Avalon. Purchased the 737 in 1999 and its still used on vocals for all my tracks. The 747 was always on my radar, I’ll get this plug for now but the hardware will eventually make it into my rack. You know Avalon is a great company because they only make a small amount of gear but its all top notch.

I love True Iron, Kclip 3 and True Dynamics... So I am sorely tempted! These Kazrog plugins make my mixes sweet and downright CRISPY! Pretty amazing stuff.
There are so many fantastic analog emulations, UAD's reverbs, eqs and compressors are super. Also emulations from Softube, Arturia... But now i am buying hardware for recording the way in, that makes a huge difference for the plugins in mixing fase. A good source makes all the difference, starting with the musician. Thanks for the tip for home recording gear for the BAE 75EQ, this one is superb. Sounding much thicker then the Rupert 551 now use on the mixbus. Greatings from Belgium

Downloaded the trial, threw it on my latest grunge metal masterpiece, and after going through a few final master presets on the plugin, it reduced harshness and helped unify everything instantly with a warm and sweet high end-ish resonance. (The Devin Powers presets seemed to mesh best with what I'm doing). PURCHASED! Try the free version - you may be really surprised how what you thought was as good as you could get, just was lacking that secret something something. Another winner from Karzog (damn them!).

Thanks Brad glad you like my presets. I have used the 747 for many years and as a rock guy I tend to hit things a bit harder!!. All presets do is give us all a window into place to start so adjust to taste and maybe make our own faves, and there are some really great one sin there by some super cool peeps ! Kazrog is probably my favorite plugin company.
It looks like unlike True 252, the Avalon EQ section doesn't autogain. Is that Output knob for the overall outs or just the EQ section? Would be convenient to be able to regulate the EQ's level especially if you're running with the EQ pre-compressor.

This is the last plugin I was waiting to completely move my workflow from analog to digital!!! Why they took so long to emulate it??? I know there's a UAD version but it takes a lot of computer resources and additional hardware to use it... Well done Kazrog!!!

@@InTheMixJoeCarrell unfortunately I’m not a member of PLAP, it’s a little luxury that I cannot have at the moment, long story….basically op went wrong and now I’m badly handicapped, but I keep on rocking, do live sound in a small club to pay the rent and mix and master at home to help some struggling musicians

What a sound! There's that sweet depth and fullness that I would expect from A analog . ) It sounds so good it doesn't matter - but it seems to feel pretty close to the Avalon HW, Glow of tubes. The biggest difference will be the price : )))

Acustica Amber 3 and kazrog avalon747 which is better?
Acusticas Amber is not the 747. They modelled the Avalon AD2055 eq and the Avalon AD2044 optó comp.

Kazrog generally makes good plugins and this one may be good also, but I can only judge when I test it in my studio, getting the full impression of the stereo field and depths perception. As well how true it is to the original source, how does it treat low end and transients... This will be a fun one to test.
I have become extremely picky about plugins and use only some very rare exceptions today. I wish Shane good luck, he's a nice guy and a good coder with a good ear too (what only very seldom goes hand in hand). His K-Clip for instance did convince me.

How does this compare with the UAD version?
UAD doesn’t have a version of the 747. They do have the 737 preamp though
Sounds great, but with the UI on the screen there is visual glitching in OS Monterey and in Logic overall…collapse the UI and the glitching disappears…strange.
I’m sure a V1.1 will be creeping up soon as so many are hitting so many systems now. Thanks for watching man!

I don’t know if it’s just me. I think I realize the older you get the more your ears are sensitive to meticulous changes. It’s not enough change for me to believe this is better than anything else. Not to mention that protools is annoying my eyes.

Well what he said in the video is it’s just 2% better here, then on another track 2% better there - it’s all subtle but all adds up. I definitely hear more richness, that sweeter high end, and a little more cohesion through harmonics, I guess. It seems like a little extra sparkle that will be a lot of fun to experiment with! This is a high quality company - they always stand out. I’ll be getting it!
As in the hardware it is only to obtain subtle changes but that together they all become a big difference..

I shot this out against both nebula Avalon Plugin
Alex Bs Colors Pres and Saturation
and Henery Onlago Mojo , both in Avalon 747 Mode....they blew this thing away....even on vocals....really disappointing KAZROG....they should have invested in some
Convulation Live analog sampling with this and it wouldnt sound so digital and cold...tube saturation is warm...heck....Nebula's C660 Compressor would do a better job than this
Using
Amber's EQ from Acustica Audio, Alex B's Hardware run though, and the Nebula C660 together...will get you 95% closer to the Avalon Units Hardware Sound
But these Digital Plugins like this one ...suck...LOL
They hung themselves...not adding a better eq and some tube saturation emulation...like attaching a "Heater Plugin" type section to it....I think if they did those two things you could adjust this closer to getting the actual hardware sound....
Based on your post history, you appear to have very negative opinions of Acustica, so it's hard to take this comment very seriously in that light.
In any case, dynamic convolution is a poor fit for something this dynamic and harmonically rich, and our approach is better in every single aspect: accuracy with analog, resolution independence, CPU footprint, model introspection, aliasing rejection, and harmonic detail.
Snake oil. if you have the money there is an UA serious development. If you have more money, buy the hardware. I you don't have the money this won't help you to earn more.
