- It was the mid-1950's. Amidst the juke joints of New Orleans, the early soul singers were being discovered. Enter Little Aaron Smith, the first soul singer signed to Cajun Viking Records, and arguably, the best. Aaron was discovered purely by accident. In a packed club, just off of Bourbon Street, Aaron lost his then fiance' in the crowd. Being that Aaron was only 5'3", she lost him quickly amongst the sea of bodies on the dance floor. Aaron finally made it to the stage, and called for her on the microphone, which gradually transcended into this very song. The crowd goers were moved to tears. Unfortunately, his beloved was long gone, never to be seen or heard from again. His only solace was that his song was an instant hit and he soon found many more ladies to fill his broken heart. The money didn't hurt, either. We hope you enjoy this soulful journey back in time and the heartfelt words of Little Aaron Smith.

Lyrics
[Intro]
[Organ]
[Verse 1]
She's been on my mind
Since she walked away
I'm melting in this South heat, babe
Sun ain't givin' no break
[Chorus]
I'm gonna find my baby
I'm gonna find my baby
I swear, I wouldn't lie
Oh, Lord!
I'm hurting inside
[Verse 2]
She's been in my heart
Each and every day
Even when we were together
She felt miles away
[Chorus]
I'm gonna find my baby
I'm gonna find my baby
I swear, I wouldn't lie
Oh, Lord!
I'm hurting inside
[Horns]
[Bridge]
Where has she gone?
Where can she be?
Why did she run away so far from me?
[Verse 3]
So much for goodbyes
I guess I'm on my own
With this heart that's broken, baby
Left out here alone
[Chorus]
So, it's goodbye my baby
So, it's goodbye my baby
I swear, I wouldn't lie
Oh, Lord!
I'm hurting inside
[Horns]
[Outro]
Without any negative criticism, again, Circus Blues. I think it was meant to be like this by Cajun. And the best part is, I fkn love it.
This sounds like circus blues. Very enjoyable, though.
this is beautiful!
Thank you! It’s actually a nod to my stepdad, who was a Louisiana Swamp Pop musician/recording artist. I grew up on this kind of music.
@@cajunvikingrecords cheers from Ontario Canada, my friend!
AI matched the singer to the song perfectly. 😅
Is the gentleman pictured the singer?
An Ai generated image. I write the lyrics to these songs, then I use an Ai software to compose and arrange the music. It's like having a diverse group of musicians at your disposal, although the Ai can be fickle at times and it can turn into a long process to achieve the desired results. Just like when I worked with real musicians. At least there are no egos. 😆
